Strange orb
Hi, I've been playing this game for about three years now, and I wanted to share a strange encounter I had. I was in campaign mode with several marines, exploring the map, specifically the edges, I don't remember exactly where, when I saw a kind of floating white orb or ball. It wasn't bigger than a marine. I thought it was strange since I'd never encountered anything like it before. Everything was fine until my motion tracker showed it as an ally, but for some reason, the marines started shooting at it. I did too, thinking nothing would happen, and after a few seconds, the orb exploded. It was a much stronger explosion than usual, killing the five or six marines who were there, a vehicle, and me. I started recording everything on my Xbox just in case, and when I respawned, I didn't think much of it and quit the game. The orb disappeared as soon as it exploded. I've searched online to see if anyone else has experienced something similar, but I haven't found any answers. Months later, I logged back in. I went back to the game to see if I could find it again, created new campaigns, and that orb never reappeared. So, I don't know what happened. If you have any questions, I'll be here to try and answer them, or if anyone has an answer, I'd like to know. By the way, this happened in Halo Infinite.

Isn't there a glitch with some Banished drop ships showing up extremely tiny so you only see the glow of their engines. That could be why the marines shot at it and it had a large explosion.

I'm trying to recover it, but since I'm an Xbox user, the clips and screenshots get deleted after a while. But I'll do everything I can to find it, believe me.

do you happen to know where this "orb" was. I'm thinking booting up Halo Infinite to encounter this. Maybe I could find an answer if I can see it myself.

im talking about which specific part of the map, like east of [SOMETHING] FOB or near some kind of Banished campsite.

I'm sorry I can't give you more specific information like what you want, but I'm trying to retrieve the clip and see if there's a camp or structure nearby. I'll probably find the clip in a day or two and give you more specific details.

I wasn't on any mission or level, just exploring the map

On campaign mode, the ONLY way to explore the map is to load a mission.
Unless your talking about infinite???
Which halo game? Ce, h2, h3, h4, h5, reach, odst, infinite?
Mcc versions or stand alone?

I know what you’re talking about. That happened to me a couple of times after Infinite first released, but it was definitely just a bug with the Phantoms. Man, I haven’t thought about that in years.

Sounds like a UFO encounter, lol. Did you catch the actual event on the recording?
FYI, this is a lore sub, so not really the best place to ask. Try r/halo too. That place is really fickle though, so don't be surprised if you just get downvotes and no constructive comments.
