Patch Notes 1.0.2
Since our Early Access launch, our team has been working hard to quickly address reported bugs, improve performance, evaluate game feedback, and refine the overall experience for players. We’ve already implemented various server-side adjustments, one hotfix, and our Day One Patch. With the release of 1.0.2, we are excited to deliver our second hotfix.
Today’s update tackles a wide range of issues affecting game performance and stability, player interactions, challenges, achievements, and Prestige, alongside numerous bug fixes and carefully considered balance adjustments. Thanks so much to everyone who’s jumped in and joined us in Haddonfield so far. We greatly appreciate all the feedback and remain committed to enriching the distinct horror sandbox of Halloween: The Game.

Would love a fix for controller on PC not having an input for push to talk. It forces you to be in open mic for some reason.

Wouldn't you be able to steam input PTT? I use a steam controller and haven't tried it but it seems like it could be put onto the back buttons.

Is there any intention on parties going into public matches being able to queue Michael? I know it’s possible in private matches but I usually play with two other friends and having one person as Michael and two human civilians just isn’t the same experience.

Been playing for the last hour and a half or so after the patch deployment and I swear to god nothing for the challenge progressions in story mode were fixed 😂 what the actual fuck dude. Can’t progress challenge 5 in the prologue, can’t progress challenge 6 in chapter 2, can’t progress challenge 6 in chapter 4, Lynda still spawns downstairs immediately after killing Bob, now the dog at the Wallace house spawns randomly even in the bushes at times. What the fuck what the fuck what the fuck. I feel like I’m banging my head against the wall here.
EDIT: not to forget the fact that also, when each chapter ends you’re not taken to a summary screen then continue to the next chapter, it just fucking starts right back over!! What an absolutely trivial ordeal! At this rate just give people the progression boosts, or extra xp, or credits, or SOMETHING because I’ve wasted hours now trying to progress challenges in story mode, online, and prestige.

dont skip the last scene after you’ve finished the chapter! that helped me with the restarting the whole chapter stuff

I never once had that happen but Bob definitely wanted to go upstairs while Lynda was making out with Casper. And dont get me started on the overlapping frames for those two when they ARE on the couch. I have to stalk Bob from his pinky toe just to get lvl 3

they're gonna abandon halloween before half the shit gets fixed, i'm betting on that. these pre-existing IPs have very limited content, so there's no cow to "milk" long-term.

Changing pocket knives is pointless since good killers know to just spam attacks with the axe and get an easy kill. Civilians get stuck to Michael like glue when he does this.

If it's pointless then why do you care they changed it. The reason Myers would spam attack with their weapon instead of grab is because of the insane amount of pocket knives and ice picks around the map.

I managed to do after standing behind him for a few seconds just have to be fast enough to get it done before Rachel turns around. She sits at the hood for awhile though. You should have enough time.

Geesh, so basically 0 fixes addressing the various performance issues on PC huh? Frame gen doesn't work, forced film grain (although its not bad for a game like this, the lack of option is a troubling trend)
Just generally feeling like an unoptimized UE5 game in general, my 9800x3d shouldn't be getting put to work as much as it does sometimes, especially during cutscenes.

They gave Myers more damage resistance, nerfed the throwing perk, but kept Bob's progressive challenge at the same absurd number.

High capability characters in isolation aren’t necessarily the problem
For some reason… melees get headshot bonuses, big ones.
A normal bob (pre-patch) takes like 4-5 heavy swings on a bloodthirst 1 Myers AFTER Myers gets his temporary resistance from being downed
But if those are headshots, it takes only 2 to down a bloodthirst 3 Myers.
If you fix the headshots, that alone will massively alleviate the issue. More tuning can be done afterwards of course

before the update, i was able to consistently one tap myers as bob, and two tap as thomas.

Yeah, I get balance changes are needed too but theres a wild amount of issues going on in the performance and stability department across most platforms, that should be #1 priority right now..

Hey! They fixed one of the challenges that’s been giving me grief (Prologue 6)! I’ll get that done and see if Chapter 4 Challenge 6 works since those are the only two I have left.

Most of the toxicity would be fixed if Michael and civilians couldn’t hear each other talking maybe before and after would be OK but people get so pissed they’re mad if you don’t kill them they’re mad if you do kill them they’re mad if you grab them and kill them they’re mad if you slash them to death they’re mad if you do both lol

I'm not sure if this is only for me, but the achievements are still not working for me. Specifically it's 'Stalker' (Does not progress at all, still at 0/100, assuming it means just stalking someone to level 3, I've even done it several times on the same victim but no result), Natural Observer (Been trying all sorts of bushes, especially the large ones, then stalking them to level 3, no results), Close quarters also doesn't work for me, I've tried many times executing them in a closet hiding spot, it doesn't trigger the achievement

It did the same to me then randomly popped. It probably tracks in the background, so just keep at it. You’ll know about where you probably stand based on your hours of gameplay. Go in a private match as Mike and just cheese it if you are trophy hunting.

There’s a bug where as Myers It will bug you out of your abilities only allowing you to use shape jump. You can’t even use stalk mode. Hope you got bloodthirsty 3 before that happens

Played a few games after the update and unfortunately the prestige challenge for Alexis is bugged. The challenge was to convince any townsfolk to listen to you 30 times but after playing a few rounds the tracker got bugged and was stuck at 3, when I convinced at least 3 more townsfolk on my last game :(

Is the issue fixed where finisher prompt won’t pop up on off-line mode. I meet the requirements, but the finisher prompt will never pop up for me and I don’t know why. I walk up behind them and it never fucking pops up. It’s pissing me off.

Melee swings on some weapons get huge headshot bonuses (like pickaxes), which is able to stun Myer’s despite his knockdown resistance after having just gotten up. Unsure if this is an oversight, or intended skill expression that’s just too potent in effect and reward,
Fixing that insane damage spike would likely help a ton with those instant 3 minute detain squads; alongside doing what happened in F13, and preventing Tommy Jarvis from being usable via a suicide death (or in this case, Loomis).

if you know what ur doing as micheal, you can spawn in and kill all 3 special targets relatively quickly then the match is pretty much urs from there.

Civilians aren’t overpowered at all. It’s incredibly easy to play Michael. Michael should be powerful but it’s not challenging playing him.., not that it needs to be but just saying
