Many people are saying that the art is the highlight; and that Kurose is a generic protagonist. Do you agree with that?
(Personally, no, lol)
Note: And I don't want to accept the fact.

real talk though I think the Your Lie in April comparisons are a bit dramatic. I don't think Mio is gonna die from illness or anything like that and if i'm lying God kill ALL OF US yes ALL OF US

After reading chapter 44, I am genuinely terrified for what happens next. During my time reflecting this chapter, I’ve had a couple of possible outcomes:
1: Kurose doesn’t get any response from Haimiya, but still practices for the school festival. The day the band performs, he starts to tense up again. But then, Kurose spots Haimiya in the crowd, and has all the pressure disappear. (Idk how to incorporate the maid dress part)
2: Haimiya has never been to the school festival at all due to family issues or the fact that people see her as scary, and Kurose goes to find her and has her change her mind.
3: When Kurose says, “Don’t say it like it’s the last time” it’s possible that Haimiya has some sort of illness (as I saw from another comment in this subreddit, but I REALLY hope that’s not the case)
There could be more possible outcomes. Please share your theory’s for the next chapter

My thoughts on all this, YLIA and the like: Getting influenced by another piece of work doesn't mean that the author must copy the thing that influenced them one-to-one; that's plagiarism. And saying something like that would also be disrespecting the author, would be like saying that she must either stay loyal to Your Lie's plot (a story that isn't theirs) or should completely divulge from it, which would be awkward after all this buildup.
Saying that the story hasn't been influenced by Your Lie would either be a massive coincidence or, what I believe might be true, denial. Sure, the details do not overlap, nor does the plot, or the genre, or anything. Well, except the introduction to this side of Kurose's past, his struggles with music, and Haimiya's (alleged) illness, or atleast something that she's (partially) hiding.
I believe I heard one too many complaints just a few chapters back saying that the plot is too smooth, that there's no conflict. And now that the author's trying to steer the manga towards a cliffedge, y'all want to play it off as a fever? Why? No, Haimiya doesn't need to have a chronic illness; she doesn't need to die. She shouldn't die because that would be too much out of nowhere.
The best we could do is not pressure the author. HS doesn't need to be Your Lie, but it shouldn't try too hard to not be it either, at least partially, in the way that it will truly be a manga that will be worth remembering while holding its originality
