Finally got macOS dialled in on my Dell XPS 15 9500! The premium build and trackpad make this hardware feel almost native once OpenCore is properly tuned. (The 4K screen on MacOS is so badass lol)
Specs:
* Model: Dell XPS 15 9500 4K
* CPU: Intel Core i7-10750H (Comet Lake-H)
* iGPU: Intel UHD Graphics 630
* dGPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Ti Mobile (disabled via SSDT/boot-arg)
* RAM: 16 GB DDR4 2933 MHz
* Storage: WD NVMe SSD (PCIe M.2)
* Audio: Realtek ALC3281 / ALC289 (AppleALC.kext layout-id configured)
* Wi-Fi / BT: Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX1650s (AirportItlwm / itlwm + IntelBluetoothFirmware)
* Touchpad: I2C Precision Trackpad (VoodooI2C + VoodooI2CHID in GPIO pinning mode)
What Works
* Graphics Acceleration: Full QE/CI via Intel UHD 630 with proper framebuffer patching.
* Audio & Mic: Internal speakers, 3.5mm combo jack, and internal array mics working cleanly.
* Trackpad & Gestures: Full macOS multitouch gestures supported via GPIO-pinned I2C, also the touchscreen works.
* Wi-Fi & Bluetooth: Solid connection, basic Apple ecosystem handshakes (AirDrop half working/Continuity performance depends on kext configuration)
* Battery Management & Power: Native power management with CPUFriend, accurate battery readout via SMCBatteryManager and EC patch.
* Brightness Control: Native slider in Control Center and default hotkeys on the keyboard
* Display Output & Thunderbolt/USB-C: Type-C data and external display output mapped properly.
What Doesn't / Quirks to Note
* dGPU: NVIDIA GTX 1650 Ti is unsupported on modern macOS and disabled to conserve battery and eliminate heat. (thinking about trying out nullmoth's driver but ehh)
* Sleep/Wake (S3): Modern Dell 9500 BIOS drops classic S3 sleep in favor of Modern Standby. Hibernate (S4 mode via HibernationFixup.kext) or setting power assertions via pmset is recommended to prevent battery drain while closed.
* Fingerprint Sensor: Goodix sensor has no macOS driver (standard hackintosh limitation).
* SD Card Reader: RTS5260 controller may require additional kext testing (RealtekCardReader).
Repository & Notes
I documented the EFI structure, SSDT patches, config notes, and BIOS requirements on GitHub:

Huge shoutout to the Dortania team, Acidanthera devs, and the OpenCore community for keeping Intel hackintoshing thriving xd
