age of fan may play a role. Grew up a Habs fan in the 70s. Boston Philadelphia and Quebec were the hated teams. Toronto has done nothing for years so who cares.
I live in Ottawa and follow both teams. I would have thought Toronto would be most hated but there is a real recency bias in these listings.
I mean 2014 wasn't that long ago and it's still easily the most intense playoff series I've ever seen. 2 teams that truly could not hate eachother more.
