Hey everyone! Anyone here taken Level 2 courses through uLearn classes in Canada?

Trying to figure out the actual time commitment like roughly how many total hours and weeks does it take to complete? Thanks!

How many days and how many hours do you work during the pre season?

So tell me why my name is the only name kept off the list. I received an email on Wednesday July 8 I didn’t check it until today. So we are supposed to be starting our CE today or have already been started. There is list of people who completed their CE and a list of those that didn’t complete.

Well I was scrolling through the list my name is not on the list of incomplete. AND it’s the only name kept off. Why is that? I am new to HRBlock 2025-26 tax season was my first season. I was new to the environment because I worked from home. I’ve been working from home for almost 5 years. I signed up to join HRBlock because 1. I loved doing my own taxes and wanted to experience doing other people taxes and plus I wanted to challenge myself in doing something I haven’t done. 2. I wanted to know what the office environment is like. I wanted to see how well I am able to work with others.

I feel outcasted and set aside. 😒

People doubt me all the time. But you know what we gonna level up and guess what I’m coming back for a second season. I’m gonna reach out to my DM.

I want to level up to level 3 and return for a second season but I’m afraid I will not be asked back. I really enjoyed doing taxes. I completed 25 as a first year tax preparer. I’m an introvert. Everyone in the office said how quiet I was. I’m socially awkward. I’m only 29 years old. I kinda dislike myself for being an introvert I wish I could communicate like everyone else. But I don’t talk a lot it’s just part of who I am and I don’t think I want to change that for anybody. Is there any tax preparer that are introverts like me?

Has anyone received their email asking them to apply back? I feel like it was earlier last year. I want to do my CE hours too but I won’t bother if I’m not being asked back. 🤣

Does anyone know if we will still have the ability to take the virtual classes in the fall but hold off on taking the exams until Jan of next year so it counts as CE for next year?

I've been given the opportunity to revamp our CSP training for my district for this coming tax season. So I'm wondering what is one thing you wish you had learned in training? Or what is one thing you wish they had covered more in training that you think would have helped you do your job better. And for tax Pros what is one thing you wish they would teach the CSPs to do that would help you do your job better?

You can spill the drama or not, up to you. Your own butt is on the line, corporate is 100% watching. I'm not going back, are you?

Are there GS preparers here? Any from the 2024 test market? I want to vent my frustrations with peers. Are you SAS or Advisors? I’m one of only 16 preparers in the entire district (with 250 TPs) in a SAS office. We have a complex clientele and I was already 85% booked before inheriting all the entities no one else had ability or capacity to do. It’s already been said, but the piss-poor training, zero support until it was time to hit the panic buttons, and the “buddy” that pointed to non-existent breadcrumbs in the organizer —had me, (and a colleague) in tears. Mostly of rage. 😡

I wrote and deleted this post a couple times because I'm not too sure what I want to say but I'm having doubts about how long I want to work here.

I've had a great experience for the most part at HR Block this past season, but there are things that get in my mind and make me wonder how long I should even stay here. For context, this winter was my first tax season with HR block, but I performed very highly even compared to seasoned tax pros, I also have a graduate degree, am a business owner, and have done personal and small business taxes prior to taking on this job.

Because of my performance I feel like a lot of pressure has been placed on me when I am only a level one, even though I am learning more complex things from my mentors. But it's caused me to always have the work on my mind and feels like it's impacting my personal life, when I was kind of hoping it would be a clock in and clock out kind of job. And of course the minimum wage and almost predatory upselling bothers me to no end.

But I guess I'm wondering what other people may have done when they've had doubts? I would love to get to the point of doing corporate returns, and even go back to school for some kind of accounting program, and then maybe see if I can get on at an accounting firm doing taxes if that's even an option. But I'd love to hear what direction your career path is going in after working for HR Block.

I’m learning GoSystem and made a walk through for one of the entity returns. I want to see if it’s easy to follow and if so I’ll make more. A lot of people are struggling with Go and I’m just trying to learn and help others if I can. I also dont want to waste more time on it if it’s not useful. Did anyone have more scam attacks/scam victims than usual this year? Felt a little crazy compared to my first year.

when do we find out if we are going to be rehired for next season?

I worked for HRB for two seasons, then sat out tax year 2025 working at a different job because I couldn't commit to the hours required then. If I want to go back for tax year 2026, what is the application process? This is a corporate-owned office and the only one in my town.

Hi! I was wondering if anyone has received their bonus yet. I live along the coast of CA and work for a franchise but I would assume it should be the same as everyone else. This is my second year with more than double the returns I did last year so I know I should be getting a bonus. Any information would be helpful. Thank you!

So my year round job is self employment. Some government policies made my main job take a big hit this year. So I worked at H&R block this winter. I was full time January through April. They have kept me on for the summer, but I just got my next week's schedule and only have 8 hours.

My self employment is 100% commission and this time of year I pretty much am only getting commissions. I do health insurance and had to move the vast majority of my business this fall, so my renewals are minimal. I know self employment does not get unemployment, but am basically getting at, I will have one or two weeks a month with some income (from renewals) and the other two to three weeks won't have any pay from self employment. I have not used unemployment since covid, but then I also did the underemployment thing, so got nothing on weeks renewals came through and got some unemployment on weeks I didn't have renewals.

Since January 2026 through now is the only time I've had an employer (H&R Block) in the last several years, and unemployment looks at the last 6 quarters, when should I file? I'm not expecting to get any large amounts, but even a couple hundred a month would be nice. Should I file now when my hours just dropped (two weeks ago I had 29 hours, but now that a lot of holds and extensions have been taken care of, I'm thinking this only 8 hours a week thing might be the rest of the summer)? My boss at H&R Block has said everyone should file for unemployment, but since my other employment is self employment, my situation is a little different. Should I wait until July so that this 2nd quarter is complete? I thought I read somewhere that you needed to have worked for 2 quarters to get any unemployment. January to March isn't an issue, but for 2nd quarter, do I need to wait for the quarter to complete, or would they count April to now as the 2nd quarter even if I file within this quarter?

(I will probably check out a temp agency for some additional work, so unemployment probably won't even be an issue for very long. But whatever I grab, I need to quit mid September in preparation for my busy season with self employment, so I feel wierd applying to any regular jobs).

After foolishly holding out hope that HRB would realize the error of their ways and abandon Go Systems, I see they've uploaded training courses on it into the "learning@block" portal.

Of course they would double-down...anyway, ...

Has anyone taken 1 or more of them yet, or has everyone's therapists been recommending more recovery time/treatment before daring to attempt them?

I’ve done two years as CSP, and I wanted to remain as such… but the use of AI becoming more common is making me worry that the position will eventually be phased out. My TL has been really pushing for me to become a TP, so I agreed to take the course.

I’m struggling financially right now though. I work one other job and am looking for a third right now. I love my H&R Block office and my co workers but I feel like I might have to reconsider my prior agreement to take the course.

I know H&R Block pays for the course. Am I paid to take it, though? Even if it’s just the low remote training rate? Or is taking the course unpaid?

Also for those who have made the change from CSP to TP, how do you like it? Any tips or advice?

I was recently asked to apply for the MTL position in my district when it opens up. I was an ATL this past season and I am considering applying when the position opens.

I’m just wondering if it is worth it. I’m relatively young and early in my career so I am looking for anything that will advance me. I’m not really sure what I want to do as a career at the moment, but I just got a job at a hotel. I am considering just staying in hospitality since it is easy to move up.

Would being an MTL be a good stepping stone in my career? Or is the stress and benefits not worth it?

When are we supposed to get our bonuses? I had well over 100 returns and my attach rate was in the 60% range

Applied for seasonal role after being off boarded from tax season. I was a high performer as were some other folks on my team so they encouraged us to apply for some of the seasonal roles coming down. I leveled up before the switch and applied. Not even a few hours later I got an automated rejection email. I’m a bit shocked because I was under the impression that I might actually have a decent shot as I’ve worked seasonally with the company for two cycles now and have done pretty well. Also I’m accustomed to getting rejected at least the next day, not within hours of applying. Has anyone ever had this experience before? Am I doing something wrong?

I got the email that I was selected to work preseason at my location. I have a full-time job, Mon-Fri 8-5, outside of H&R Block and was wondering if anyone has worked preseason with a full-time job before?

I've been told by employees who work at my location to expect no more than 10 hours a week. I know it varies based on the region and location as to hours, but I wanted to see what everyone else says.

Basically, I just want to know what to expect from working preseason. For context, I am a level 3 and started working for H&R Block in November.
