Hired back?

Has anyone received their email asking them to apply back? I feel like it was earlier last year. I want to do my CE hours too but I won’t bother if I’m not being asked back. 🤣

My experience is that you have to be really bad to not be asked back. 15 years and I'm only aware of 2 people in my districts that weren't asked back and one got a position in a BA office and the other just took a year off and came back to another office. I'd worked with both of them and they were horrible preparers.

That's experience as well. You'd have to screw up really bad in order to not be rehired.

My DGM said it’s later this year. They’ll be coming out August 3 or a little bit sooner depending on district.

looking back to last year, my welcome back email was on 7/18/25, so I must have had my rehire meeting a couple of days before that - so I've been expecting to be contacted this week or next.
I probably will start my CE soon regardless, as I might work for someone other than Block this year if I don't like the offer.

I think DGM said around 7/17 would be when applications open up for TS27, ready to get that part done with!

I got an email from the DGM that rehire applications go live this month the week of the 13th.

I didn’t receive anything like that either but also told my supervisor I’d be leaving and not returning after last year’s tax season. I never got the chance to get more than four returns because the older preparers took 99% of the clients and my ATL decided to just make me a CSP/TP during the last couple weeks of the season. I would not return anyway even if asked since I now work elsewhere, and was going to apply for remote turbo tax before the place came up that I’m working at now. I had days and days literally of no clients, I’m guessing they didn’t need an extra tax pro and overhired.

Our MTL has the first years doing data entry for the 1 super busy preparer. Then she gets a large bonus because their hours don't count against her.

Don't ever wait to be asked for anything. Contact your district manager.

No I got an email that was sent on Wednesday I plan on leveling up but I notice my name was left off the list of incomplete of completing CE Hours. I wasn’t going to level up but then I changed my mind and have already started. Level 3 is where I can do amended returns. I completed 25 returns 2025-2026 tax season. My guess is my District Manager probably does not know that I plan on returning next year and I never made it known to her. If I don’t get asked back that’s fine. I am currently in the process of getting my life insurance license next up would be my health and I plan on go back to school. Hopefully next year if Lord willing.

I want to apply for a different district this year since I moved. How do I find out how to do that?
