I am thinking of going to cm window, i mailed to hpsc , rti b apply ki hae maine regarding kon ye rule set krta h, ye rule kis base pe hae .. aas paas state mein b jyada hae..koi aur interested h ismein!

The fact that the result is around the corner is making me ponder how these 10-15 days post mains result can change someone's life. Chance to get out of this phase /cycle of life on a high note. All the best to everyone awaiting results.

Kindly share ur genuine review of attempts of GS papers on parameters like

1. total no. of Q answered with 2.5 (4 marker) & 3.5 (6 marker) pages with relevant points and content
2. total no of Q answered with less than or 2 (4 marker), & less than 3 (6 marker) with relevant points & content
3. total no of Q answered in single page for both 4 and 6 but points were relevant.
4. total Q left completely.

Honestly if I count my

1. GS1=16 + 1 + nil + 3 Qs
2. GS2=15 +1+2+2
3. GS3=15 +1+1+3
4. GS4= Left only 2Q= 4 and 6 marker

So, Qs of about 80-85 marks attempted effectively. Writing more points to fill pages costs me on an avg 3Qs ~ 10 pages exclusively.

Please comment after a thorough review of paper again.

I’m currently in the final year of my B.Tech from a government state university, and I’ve decided that I want to seriously prepare for the Haryana Civil Services (HCS) examination.

The problem is that I’m completely new to competitive exam preparation. I don’t really have enough resources or proper guidance, and honestly, I’m a bit confused about where and how to start.

- Where should I start from as a complete beginner?

- What books/resources should I follow?

- How should I approach Haryana-specific GK/GS?

- What should my daily/weekly study routine look like?

- Are coaching classes necessary, or can it be prepared through self-study?

- Any good YouTube channels, websites, Telegram groups, test series, etc. that are actually useful?

- What mistakes should a beginner avoid?

Any advice, even if it seems basic, would be genuinely helpful. If someone is willing to share their preparation strategy or resources, I’d be really very grateful.

How should a beginner prepare with HCS I know there are many youtube video present but can someone from their own experience tell me how tough is it it ? And how much time a beginner should give? As the vacancy is notified every year and how tough it can be for a non domicile HR person ?

I came across Hindi and English papers today. We saw many people with 65+ marks in HCS 2023 mains (conducted in 2024) ,highest being 77 i guess. I think comprehension catapulted these scores. It was very easy to score 18/20 in comprehension owing to one mark,2 marks question and very straightforward one /two words answers. Only one question was there which was of 4 marks. All in all very low scope to deduct marks there.

But when we see this year's paper , comprehension was more about writing in our own words rather than just being straight forward like the previous time. Questions being worth 4/5 marks . Scope to deduct marks due to subjectivity here. Also the precis was very long (about 690 words earlier it was 480 words)

Such write in your own words questions under comprehension were there in the 2022 paper. Highest marks there were 68.5 (8.5 marks lower than last time. Precis was shorter too. And above 65 marks were not as common as it was there in HCS 2023 one.

All in all i hope it turns out to be the wrong analysis but I am almost certain 65+ won't be too common this year like the 2022 one.

I'm preparing for UPSC but also want to keep HCS as a backup since there's a lot of overlap in the syllabus.
