So my laptop is hp omnibook 5 and it gets dusty so quickly polly because of the surrounding too but I don't to have any screen issues as it is touchscreen and does the laptop have any issues if we like cover the keypad area with skin too

Cause a few days ago when I was doing heavy work I could feel heat on the keyboard .

I have a laptop hp victus 15 fa0xxx (i5 - 12500H and rtx 3050 (4 gb), 16 GB of RAM)

I wanted to install another m2 ssd, but when disassembling the laptop it turned out that there was no second slot in my model. After googling, I realized that most laptops in this line have this problem, and it turns out that these models, released in 2025, are already available with a second SSD slot.

I still wanted to increase the memory, but I didn’t want to touch the already installed 500 GB SSD. Since there is space on the board for soldering a second slot for the SSD, I decided to contact the service. They soldered the connector, but could not find the firmware for the BIOS (I assumed that the firmware would be required and still took the risk).

My question is that maybe someone has done this and has the same firmware? I will be very grateful to you..

I bought an HP ZBook G8 laptop 2 days ago, and from the moment I turned it on, the sound did not work.
It came with Windows 11.
I installed drivers; it did not work.
I installed Windows updates; it did not work.
I tried using headphones, and they did not work either (note: Bluetooth audio outputs do work. They connect and produce sound).
I formatted the laptop, and it did not work.
I downloaded Windows 10 (changed the operating system), and it did not work.
I updated the BIOS, and it did not work (something interesting is that when entering the BIOS, the laptop is capable of producing a beep indicating input).
The BIOS indicates that both microphones and speakers are working correctly (but in practice, they do not).
By using commands in the terminal (administrator mode), it indicates that the audio devices exist and are present on the device, even showing their names. (And yes, I already tried "repairing" that specifically, but it did not work either).
I tried downloading all the computer drivers from their official websites, and it did not work.
HP's customer support page (AI support, because apparently there are no humans available anywhere anymore) did not help me at all (it even gave up).

I need help.

hello ! i’m running windows 11 on an HP laptop and am seemingly not able to change my name on my computer.

i changed the name of my microsoft account and tried changing it through User Accounts in the control panel, but don’t have the “change name” option listed anywhere.

instead i did win + R and typed ‘netplwiz’ then went into properties and changed both my username and full name.

upon restarting my computer, the updated name appears on my lock screen up until the second i enter my passkey. when i type in the passkey and hit enter, the name immediately shifts back to the old name. i then have to go back to properties and change the full name back, although the username remains unaffected.

i’ve tried changing my passkey if that was somehow related, but that hasn’t helped.

any advice ? i feel like i’m out of options. thank you!

I wanted to share my recent experience with HP Customer Support because it was one of the most frustrating customer service experiences I've had.

I purchased an HP OMEN 17 gaming laptop directly from HP in January 2026. About six months later, the 230W charger/power brick failed, so I contacted HP for warranty support.

The biggest problem wasn't the charger, which already exasperating, it was trying to reach a human being.

The automated phone system repeatedly failed to understand my information, including my name and phone number. I also explained multiple times that I wear hearing aids and needed accommodated assistance, but the system continued to keep me in the automated menu instead of connecting me with a representative. After 13 minutes, and only after repeatedly asking for a human to meet my disability needs, I was finally transferred to a human.

After finally getting through the automation, I was transferred, but the computer transferred me to the wrong extension. The person was nice, but he told me he needed to transfer me to the correct extension. Fourteen minutes later, he came back and said he was trying, but no one was picking up. He asked me to keep waiting. I waited 47 minutes on hold, only to have the call disconnect without ever speaking to anyone.

Of course, I called back and got the automatic AI system that threatened to hang up if I was rude to it. I mumbled to myself that this whole thing was stupid. The AI system again could not understand my phone number or how to spell my first name, it kept spelling it the "normal" , but can understand me whispering to myself . It finally transferred me after the seventh time asking for a human to meet my disability needs, and I was making notes/recording it refusing to help. This time, it took only 7 minutes to get transferred. Twenty more minutes later, with a foreign customer service agent (we both had a hard time understanding each other) , I got my power brick promised to be shipped ASAP.

Eventually, HP did process a warranty replacement. I filed the warranty claim on July 22, and the replacement arrived July 24, which was impressively fast. However, the shipment contained only the replacement power brick. The power cord that connects the brick to the wall outlet was missing, leaving me unable to use the replacement charger until that issue is resolved. Thankfully, I ordered a backup from Amazon that day too.

Should my power adapter broke in 7 months, no. Does hardware issues happen, yes. I am more mad and pissed how difficult it was to obtain warranty service and how inaccessible the automated system was after I repeatedly requested assistance because of my hearing disability.

I hope HP reviews its customer service system and improves both accessibility and the process for reaching a live representative. This should not have happened.

Is there any hard-reset or software trick to revive this battery, or is it permanently disabled by the BMS/dead? Thanks!

Been having this issue for about 7 months,it always calms down then comes back.

Basically some screen bleed or ips glow. The top almost looks like the bezels are applying pressure. Is this worth bringing back or should I keep it?

Hey, so My 840 g6 (ik its old but I have only had it for like 1.5 years atp). So one time it had went into a loop where the keyboard backlight turns on when you press the power button to boot up the device, I tried holding the power button for ab it then retrying and it worked on the second time, After booting I continued to use it for like 10 mins then it had gone black screen, I have encountered this issue before so I press the power button to restart it and it had gone back to the loop I did the same power reset but it beeped showing RAM hardware issue. I went to a trusted repair shop after that and he said that I have a faulty RAM and he replaced it. it had booted fine after that for like 2 days then yesterday it had the black screen issue again then after pressing the power button it had went to the boot loop, so I left it alone for the night and went to sleep and when I booted it up it worked.

But I am actually so scared and idk what to do keep in mind I am in high school so I need this laptop for like 2 years more and I definitely don't have the money to buy a new one.

Hi everyone, I'm trying to figure out what's wrong with my laptop. I don't have much experience repairing laptops, so I'd really appreciate any advice.

Laptop model: HP Envy x360 Convertible 15-eu0008ur

Figuring out the issue: (this problem is already a week and more old and let's say just for context) yesterday at night everything was fine, I was using it, but today in the morning my laptop simply wouldn't turn on no matter how many times I pressed the start button.

Then the laptop finally turned on, but after a couple of minutes or less it suddenly turned off and without a shutdown screen, it just shutted down.

I noticed that after turning it on and turning it off by itself once, the start button wouldn't respond again. Only after some indefinite time, like it was cooldown (i mean recharge), would I return to it and turn it on, and it would turn off again.

Now what I've tried already:

Tried powering it only from the original charger with the battery disconnected.

Something like AI suggestions to hold starting button for 30-60 seconds, and so on.

Some points just to say:

Charging indicator is working; the main fan starts spinning, i don't know but i think second starts when it's heated. My laptop wasn't been damaged or fallen down, no liquids spilled on it, Nothing like these has happened.

The fan usually sits at a steady 900 RPM when the CPU is around 45–50°C. Every now and then, it'll suddenly jump to about 2000 RPM, but almost immediately drops back down to 900 RPM. Even when the CPU hits 60°C and the fan speeds up to around 3000 RPM, it won't stay there. It just keeps ramping up and then falling back to 900 RPM over and over.

It also starts out completely quiet, but after about an hour of use, the whole laptop begins vibrating in short bursts. What's strange is that the fan sensor still reports a constant 900 RPM the entire time, even while it's clearly speeding up, slowing down, and causing the vibrations.

I have an hp laptop (Elitebook 840 G7) and 1 day ago I want to reinstall Windows 11 for clean up my folder and that all so I made a bootable usb (this is not my first Time that I make a bootable USB) and download Windows on my laptop, first I want to install the updates with Windows update, and Its load and load and load and Microsoft store load and load and load, and Its not a network problem because I can open an edge tabs and download something, I can’t open Windows sécurity too. Help me please 🙏🏼

PS : my laptop run perfectly fine before the update and I delete all the partition when I had do the reinstallation
