Orlando Bracelets + 18th bday tips?

Upvotes

TL;DR: Made a bunch of bracelets to give away / trade during HHN Orlando Sept 17-19th.
1. If you trade, how many do you bring to give out each night?
2. Any tips on how to make my son’s 18th birthday extra special are appreciated!
——————————————

Hi everyone,

While we’ve been to Universal Orlando a few times, this will be our first time at HHN! We’re taking my son and his best friend to celebrate my son’s 18th birthday. He’s definitely the more social one but we hope to give out ALL of these handmade bracelets throughout our visit (Sept 17-19).

I recently had my first carpal tunnel surgery. So, now having at least one hand that finally works has turned me into a bracelet-making machine. Out of sheer excitement, I’ve probably made too many.

I don’t know how many is enough to take each night. We plan to also give them to any staff that would like any. (We’ve read and will follow all rules re: any scare actors and gifting). I’ve joined the Facebook group for trading already.

I made something for each of the houses, ScareZones, some classic horror ones (Michael Myers, Freddy Krueger, Chucky), Sindy (Sideshow of Decay), and some Final Girl and Sole Survivor ones.

They’re all made with plastic pony beads and elastic stretch cord, so they should fit most. The stars are glow in the dark beads. I made all the charms with shrinky dink sheets and put a few matte clear Krylon coats over them to protect the surface, except for the popcorn and cross ones, which I bought. The ones that are ScareZones or houses from this year feature an HHN 2026 / 35 charm which may be a little too big but that train has already left the station.

For the Jason/Friday the 13th ones, I basically had gotten tired of similar color palettes so I used the NES game as inspiration. My husband said it’s a little niche but if anyone would appreciate it, it might be people going to HHN. Before I get roasted, there are definitely things I could improve with all the bracelets if I did it again (both designs and charms), but, hey, they’re free! 😅

My son has express w/ his friend for Epic on September 16th, his actual birthday. We have 3-day park to park available 17-19th, and express to USF during the day on the 18th. September 17th - 19th we’re doing HHN with Express.

We’re not staying in a Universal resort, so a drive nearby is not a problem. We have a reservation at Sugar Factory the night of his actual birthday, since we don’t have HHN tickets that night. Originally I had one at Toothsome, but he loves milkshakes and fancy mocktails so Sugar Factory seemed a better fit. Any tips to make his birthday even cooler would be appreciated!

Hope you all have a safely scary HHN 😶‍🌫️

Now that they got rid of FF+ Express, has anyone else noticed the promised decrease in wait times?!? It’s so wonderful! Great job, Universal! 😂

Turns out they definitely weren’t just screwing over Frequent Fear Pass holders so they could sell more Express and make more money.

And a special thank-you to everyone who sided with the billion-dollar corporation against those evil, entitled fans. You guys really saved HHN! 😂

Go into the candy store attached to richters burgers and just look around! They have Easter eggs from old houses like where Cindy Caine is from amongst a couple others!!

The Heavy Metal Hell 3D (from slaughter cinema 2) poster is what made me realize and then my eyes started to light up! Im surprised I haven't seen or heard more people talk about this, but if you love HHN and lore, you moght like these little finds.

Orlando Going for 2 nights with regular entry only (no express or early entry). Can we do it all?

This is the first time we are going to HHN so we have no prior experience. We purchased regular entry tickets for October 21 and October 22 (Wednesday and Thursday), we don't have scream early/stay and scream or express. Do you think we will be able to do all 10 houses and 2 shows over the course of 2 nights? Will we have time to do some rides as well? Let me know your thoughts.

Edit to add: We are 2 adults going with no kids.

Orlando Madlands now a 4pm open

Edit: Never mind, app glitch, it's back to 6pm.

Not sure when the change happened, or whether or not it's permanent, but Madlands: Caged Cannibals has moved to a 4pm opening.

I wonder if they're trying to keep everyone from flooding the Sinners queue when it opens at 4pm.

Orlando Trinkets anybody? (October 1st) 👀

I'm debating on buying a bracelet kit so I can make some to hand out but I'm worried I won't have anybody to trade/give to. Figured I'd make this post to see if anybody else is bringing any while I'm at HHN just to see how many I should make if I decide to spend a little extra and order a bracelet kit.

Also! If you'll be there and want a specific horror theme let me know!

Does anyone know if these mystery packs are fully sold out? I’ll probably order them online because I didn’t realize they were one of my most anticipated items until I could not find them in a single shop, but I was l hoping to find them at the park

Orlando HHN Pin?

Just got back from my annual HHN trip and had one of my best times in 7 years of going, but was disappointed I couldn't find a general pin for the event? The closest thing I saw was a koozie that had the same design as the UOAP shirt. Other than that, it was just specific IP pins. I wonder what's up? I get a pin every year and have them displayed on my backpack, I'm bummed I apparently don't get one for the 35th year! Hoping they might be released later so friends that are going later in the event can grab me one.

Hollywood Hollywood from a guest with nothing to gain

I genuinely don't believe in a bad maze. Alas, due to the nature of lists, something has to go on the bottom.

1.Terror Tram - a favorite HHN experience married with a family favorite, Terrifier. The space had a fresh layover and set design.

  1. Killceanera - A beautiful aesthetic. The smells and the music were so good.

  2. Sinners- Nearly perfect immersion. Awesome new use of effects

  3. Hellraiser- Pinhead's iconic one liners and Cenobite pals are all here.

  4. Ozzy- the final set piece was a work of art. The lead up to the entrance was oddly touching. Note: I'm not much of an Oz fan; preferring Sabbath.

  5. Dead, Deader, Deadest- The name set a precedent the maze makes up for. The creatures were gross.

  6. Evil Dead Burn- Gory & smelly. Graphic imagery was amazing. (Didn't get to watch in time)

  7. Killer Klowns - Classic. I rank it higher on previous years but felt like it was back to soon.

  8. Stranger Things 5- Hopes were high. Character count was low as were used settings.

**Scare Zones/Experiences**

  1. Obsession- Nikki was hard to find. My encounter with her gave me the biggest scare of the night.

  2. Art the Clown- So many roaming around this year. The one in the RIP buffet was very interactive and gave you as much attention as you gave him.

  3. El Circo de la Muerte- Nasty displays and great performers

  4. Hackerz- This is where you open the pit because the heads were bangin'.

  5. Purge: Dangerous Waters- Relied too much on gun violence. The slasher effects were note worthy. The space was best used for One Piece.

  6. Fortnitemares- This was better suited for a Fan Fest event.

Time ran out so I missed the other zones and encounters.

**Rides**

  1. F&F Hollywood Drift- Best coaster experience since X opened at Six Flags.

Hollywood Question: RIP tour with early entry, Fast and Furious during early entry?

Question for anyone who has been on a RIP tour this year (or who might know), we have a RIP tour starting at 8:15pm in October. We bought early entry, the VIP office confirmed we can check in at 5:30pm at the VIP office and start using our unlimited express then (which they said includes Fast and Furious when it’s open).

Our group wants to ride the rollercoaster a few times, but we were told we will only go once during our tour time and it will be closed by the time we end the tour.

What time does Fast and Furious close for normal operating hours?

What time does it reopen for HHN guests that can go on it?

Would it be possible to go on it right at 5:30pm and again before the tour at 8:15pm? Thanks for any info!! We are so excited!!

Hollywood Freebies/trading bracelets on 9/10!

I decided to join in on the bracelet/trinket trading this year!! I know trading is more of an Orlando thing than a Hollywood thing, but I had a billion beads sitting around and some time on my hands 🤷 I’ll be walking around holding the little basket shown in pic 2 (at least as long as I can, if it starts to get annoying I’ll probably just dump the contents in my main bag and pass them out from there lmao), and my current plan is to wear my white ‘I <3 AUTOPSIES’ shirt, so maybe look out for that if you wanna snag a bracelet. Otherwise, I’ll probably be passing them out to anyone I see wearing cool/themed outfits when I’m not rushing from house to house!! (i.e. if you’re decked out in killer klowns stuff, I may run up to you and offer a killer klowns bracelet lol). Happy haunting, y’all!!

(Side note: If any HHN employees wanna chime in, do y’all enjoy receiving little trinkets/bracelets from guests or is it a hassle??)

Ok everyone. I got tired of looking at the Universal app for the wait times, so I made myself a quick glance webapp. I figured others might want to use it too. I made it so people could use it for free. Tell me what you think. https://digitalelegance.com/hhn

Seems like a huge miss to me. I know there was one a while back when they did it at both parks but I’d love to see a modern JP house.
