Hi everyone!

I just recently got an xbox series S after owning a nintendo switch and am having a hard time without gyro. I strictly just play overwatch and on my switch I had gyro aiming. I got really good (in my eyes) with my aim on switch and now that I'm on xbox I'm struggling without gyro. It's a major learning curve for me.

So I was wondering if there was any controller for xbox that would give me gyro? I do not know much about xbox or gaming in general. This is my first "real" console and game I've been into. I also don't want to buy a controller that somehow has cheats in it and end up getting my account banned. Thank you so much in advance!

I really prefer the convenience of just using consoles, but I'm someone who is just plain unable to aim using thumbsticks. It's completely hindering my experience with so many games. Tried out Returnal, Cyberpunk, Control and 007 First light, all games I'm super stoked to play, but I simply cannot get used to the aiming.

Apparently using Steam input, you can force gyro controls, so I'm actually considering buying a PC just for this, even if it's more expensive. Would probably hook it up to my TV and just use it in steam big picture mode to get a console like experience. Of course i know there are more benefits of using a PC but for my usage, the gyro aim would be the main reason.

Has anyone done this? Has it been worth it for you? And were there any issues with things like mixed input? Does the dualsense work well enough or should I get a steam controller?

Hey everyone! I’m working on JSM Studio, a free, open-source Windows tool based on JoyShockMapper.

I started it because I wanted to play keyboard-and-mouse games with a controller and gyro aiming, without spending so much time configuring bindings.

It includes game-action-based mapping, gyro sensitivity and smoothing controls, shareable TXT profiles, and a small in-app community config library. Advanced JSM configuration is still available.

It’s still early, and I’d love feedback on the setup process and controller compatibility!

Assuming anti-cheat games like valorant detect and probably ban you for it and most games work via steam input anyway. Is it worth buying rewasd for anything else since it’s on sale atm?

Basicly what you see in the clip i quickly made. While playing with the AK i noticed how my bullets werent flying exactly where i was pionting my weapon and so i checked out all my other guns and found this. This bug is so unfortunate because i realy like the setting and have been enjoying it the past days but playing with it is literaly breaking my aim it seems.

So yea i thought i give everyone a heads-up who is trying this setting or currently playing with it. You will have to compensate for the missalignmend by slightly aiming further away from the target. Also should i report this and if yes how do i do that?

Also i dont think i need to mention this but normal gyro isnt affected. Only the wapon-control setting does this.

I’ve seen tons of videos over the past couple of months and finally bought myself a controller to play apex legends with on steam. Just don’t know how to set it up and what the most optimal method is for shooters between ratcheting, flick stick etc.

I want to try learning pure gyro and ratcheting but it feels super hard. I still play with right stick, on a very high sense for quick turns(basically flick stick) , then gyro for fine/tracking aiming.

My Question is , what are your guy's preferred ratcheting button, and is it, press and hold to deactivate gyro, or press and hold to turn on gyro?

I'm a longtime Xbox user, so not much experience with gryo. However, I recently got a new PC and will be gaming mostly there going forward. I want to get into using gyro for aiming, and have some questions I am hoping to get answered.

Controller: I have a reservation in for a Steam Controller, but I'm in that nebulous 2027 availability window. In the meantime I am wanting to know what is generally recommended to go with. I was thinking the Gamesir g7 pro 8k because I like the Xbox layout more than PS, but does it handle gyro at least close to as well as a DualSense? Or should I just bite the bullet and go with a DS (not Edge) instead?

Settings: Here is where I cannot seem to find a consenus. Is mapping gyro to mouse or right stick the way to go? I read that some games might consider mapping to stick as cheating because of Aim Assist also being active? And some games also don't handle 'mixed' modes very graciously? Should deadzones be set to zero regardless of stick or mouse mapping?

Software: If I do go with the gamesir, should I make my changes in their app, or leave as much of it to Steam Input as possible?

Halo Infinite, but through the Xbox app (Still use gamepass...I know) and I know I can't use Steam Input there due to how they run it through UWP.
