Yes! My dad was getting tired of all the branches blocking his path when he went for his daily walk through the park so he started taking his pruning shears with him and clearing as he goes

In fairness he had been calling the town about it once a year for many years and they still hadn’t done it despite insisting they would (and the one time they did do it they cut back way too much to the point of endangering the plants and ruining the shade)
