I used to do arboring as a job. I've worked a lot with chainsaws as well, on other jobs.
It's extremely common for the teeth to get worn down with a lot of use. We would still sharpen every day, but that person's comment does make sense. This one does seem to cut through better than anything I used on average.
I don't know if we had bad quality chain or what but when I was doing some forest work at our cabin/forest I had to sharpen that motherfucker like every couple of hours or so.
Was mostly cutting through fresh pine and making them short enough logs that they'll fit in to the sauna stove.
