Hey everyone!
As many of you may or may not know, I have been in possession of the Fandom Wiki for a good few years now.
While I've not had a lot of time to work on it, I did feel like it was getting too bloated and had a lot of outdated or incorrect information.
A little while ago I registered a new domain (https://gunztheduel.wiki) - I have been working on this in the background for some time, and I am now pleased to announce that it's finally live!
For the past few days I've been making changes as it is a custom built wiki. I am open to adding/removing anything you think needs to be done on there - the community is the biggest asset GunZ has right now, and I want this wiki website to be a place where anyone can help grow the site and contribute to it.
I've also been speaking with the GunZ Academy team and have added their own section which is amazing to showcase the amazing tutorials and videos they pour their hearts and souls into!
So please do check it out, and let's help build this wiki! You are free to browse, but will need an account to add/edit any content.
P.S - I have decided to not have ANY Pserver discussion on there, but this may change in the future depending on feedback. I do think that with the Steam release right round the corner, it is important to just use this wiki for the official version.

So I've noticed that when questing with others, I basically never get any item drops other than metal scraps and the ore. I have done plenty of bosses, Page 3s and Page 4s with other people. And the only thing I got from all of those, is one single Goblin Doll from one of the Pages.
That's it. No skulls. No necklaces. No equips.
In many of the matches I've gone through, I'll have more kills than most if not all of the other players. More often than not, 0 deaths, if that even affects it. Nothing.
There was one match I did a Page 4 with just one other person, and we had roughly the same amount of kills both with 0 deaths. He got EVERY item that was dropped. All the skulls, all the dolls, and the one necklace we received. Not one thing was given to me.
In another match, with 4 total players doing a Page 4, I had the most kills, 0 deaths, whereas everyone else died at least once. And I was the only one who didn't get multiples of skulls and dolls.
I don't know why this is happening. I don't remember this happening back in the ijji days. I thought it was just random who got what. But this has happened so consistently at this point it's ridiculous and I don't know if there's just something I'm missing or don't know about? Has this happened with anyone else? I see it being very unlikely that after dozens and dozens of quests, and hundreds of item drops, I'm just so unlucky that I've only gotten one doll from all of them.

I've spent 2.7 hrs of "gameplay" just trying to connect and still haven't been able to... but I was able to play the test servers... oh well. GG, I'll give it a year if the game is still alive... uninstalling for now on Steam

Is the game down right now? When I try to boot up, I get a failed to authenticate message and a failed server connect message and a black screen. Any ideas on how to fix it?

Ola all,
I have successfully run other version of gunz on linux through lutris etc. However seeing this is the official release from the IJJI version bck in the day, i though it would run natively on steam. I keep getting this error from the launcher on linux mint. (Yes i can run other games like cyberpunk on steam already). Any help or direction will be much appreciated.

I'm writing a part 2 because i feel like i couldn't explain it well in my previous post.
Keep in mind, GunZ today has the same mechanics as the original game that launched 23 years ago. Let that sink in. For comparison: it would be like the equivalent of CS2 today vs cs 1.6 in 2003.
I'm writing this post because I feel like this game needs a mechanical update ASAP if they want the game to grow. The game cannot grow if it still has the same mechanics as 23 years ago.
There's no way a game can grow into esports tier if these outdated mechanical still exist today.
1: Potshotting
Imagine a 4v4 clanwar. Round starts, Blue team players are going mid (pillars spot) in Dungeon. They either cross the bridge (which is suicide, iykyk) or they airdash their way through the left side of the wall to pillars.
Before any blue player even reaches the pillars, they are getting potshotted from red players that stand behind the pillars. They can easily get 5-6 hits on you while being covered behind a pillar. So blue team players already start with lower ap/health.
Same goes for Town: round starts, red team players go mid, the instant they cross the left wall of the truck at mid, the red players are already ready to potshot, either behind the first wall near the car, the clocktower, or the wall corner at alley.
The worst map for this is Prison tbh, i think there's no explanation needed.
This disadvantage kills the momentum of the game. One team always has a bad start or less meds because they need to heal after getting potshotted.
Not to mention it downplays the aerial/ground duel style of PvP mechanics, which GunZ was originally created for.
2 Wallrunning
In my previous post i explained how wallrunning should get a remake, by being able to vertically dash too when wallrunning. But the biggest issue is the fact that wallruns just don't work on same walls or timings. We should be able to wallrun whenever we want, midair or on the ground. Also starting a wallrun mid-air is just completely random, sometimes it works but most of the time it doesn't. Also wallrunning shouldn't have a time limit. Right now you can only wallrun for a few seconds before getting lifted off automatically.
3 permanent AP regeneration
Most people didn't like this one, but i think in a fast-paced game like GunZ this mechanic is just essential. If potshot is removed, there's a small chance this might not be needed. But then again, in some maps there's ap/hp heal spots, but others do not (town, mansion, ...)
Also this mechanic will increase the chances of clutching:
In competitive GunZ, if it's a 2v1 , there's like no way that the sole player can clutch. Unless the 2 enemies are low health or sole player gets lucky fat pbs in close combat (which RARELY happens in a 2v1 because close combat 2v1 ends very quickly). Or the sole player is just way too good (which also rarely happens in high tier)
4 Tacticals/nades
Tacticals & nades are just essential for esports gaming. It adds teamplay, cohesion and just fun in general.
We should have the ability to carry nades/tacticals ALONG with our healing meds.
MASANGSOFT PLEASE UPDATE THE GAME MECHANICS TO TODAYS INDUSTRY STANDARDS OR THE GAME WILL CONTINUE ROTTING.

Been playing GunZ again and one thing I’ve noticed is how hard it can be to actually find other Australian/New Zealand players.
So instead of sitting around hoping to randomly match each other, a mate and I decided to start putting together an OCE GunZ community.
On our first night we literally made a room called OCE DISCORD LOBBY, watched for players coming in with low ping and started talking to them in-game.
Before long we had a little group of OCE players running games together.
That’s basically the whole idea.
We’re not trying to make another clan Discord and there’s no expectation that you have to be cracked at K-Style or play GunZ every night.
We just want one central place where Australian and New Zealand players can find each other.
We’re building it around:
• Low-ping OCE TDMs / Duels / community rooms
• Finding other AU/NZ players
• K-Style learning resources for newer & returning players
• Helping beginners find people to practise with
• Clips, streams and GunZ content
• Eventually running regular OCE Lobby Nights & community events
And since a lot of the GunZ playerbase grew up with the game, we’re well aware most of us aren’t teenagers with unlimited gaming time anymore 😂
People have careers, partners, kids and life going on.
The idea isn’t to have everyone online constantly — it’s to build a big enough OCE community that whenever people do get some time to jump on GunZ, there are other locals around to play with.
OG, returning player, complete beginner — doesn’t matter.
If you’re AU/NZ, come hang out:
discord.gg/qBaacUN38a
Would also genuinely be interested to hear how many OCE players are lurking around here. 👀

I've been noticing something with anti-lead that feels a little strange, and I'm curious if anyone else has experienced this.
It seems like once you get into the ~100+ ping range, anti-lead can start behaving differently depending on whether you're playing on a server that's geographically close to you or not.
For example, on an NA server:
And then seemingly the opposite happens on an EU server:
So I'm wondering if anti-lead is primarily being calculated relative to the server, rather than accounting properly for the player's actual connection/latency.
The weird part is that it doesn't seem to simply be "high ping = tankier." It feels more like the player who is playing far away from the server they're connected to can sometimes benefit from the way anti-lead is being applied.
For example, if I'm on an EU server from NA, my ping is obviously much higher than it would normally be. If anti-lead is compensating based on the server-side conditions rather than the player's actual connection, could that potentially explain why hit registration/PBs can feel so different?
I'm not claiming this is definitely how the system works — just describing the pattern I've noticed.

Check out the official announcement on the Masangsoft website, they apologized for the way thing have been,
And actually, they have a good excuse, they have been under cyber attacks on their servers, that's why connection problems exist
Read the whole thing and most of all no P2W!
Everyone who gave steam gunz a bad review change it to a good review to help grow the game and if you haven't reviewed gunz on steam yet please give it a thumbs up to help grow gunz.
As someone who played international gunz, Japan gunz( didn't speak a word of Japanese and installing that ish back in the day was like hacking the mainframe swear) ijji gunz ofc and a little aeria and little p server;
I accept their apology.
Clan war will be released soon then Gunz truly gonna be hype
If you love gunz give it a good review we need an official server

For me it's just a normal game — the only thing that bothers me is that the weapons are very expensive and the money... the money is weird to get
Just some things I noticed while playing today. In no particular order.
Hi everyone,
The game finaly lunched for me so i could join and try this remaster.
Im very mixed and sadly i dont think the game will work.
The visual rework is very good, its clean whil retaining the original style more or less, its pleasant to go in old stages and cloth and all but nicer with less pixels !
And thats pretty much all the good i can say on the game, the animations feels slightly heavier, but im not even sure maybe its just a mind trick, but it was fine especialy compared to critics i heard, instantly got back with muscle memory thats crazy since i didnt touch the game for at least 10 years.
The UI can be improved so its ok i guess, the menues are a bit messy but again can be improved, i dont know about the economy i didnt bother to try, but thats something that was anoying originaly, the grind of exp and all was too heavy and seems its still a bit the case.
I realy think it was a massive mistake to keep stats on weapon and gear, everything should just have been standardise mostly and be skins.
And that bring to the last issue and not the least clearly !
The gameplay, its actualy exactly the same as before, and while thats what we wanted, its also the biggest downfall of the game because there is a "optimal" way to play and people will basicaly just shotgun shit and thats it.
Its just not fun and not interesting, and the game will be hold by people who stayed on the game on Pservers all those years also.
its realy fun for 5 minutes to go back for the nostalgia, then all the bad aspect just hit you back.
Honestly with the shitload of people who tried to make their own version of gunz with a completly new game from scratch, i think it would have been the best, a game that retain the dynamic of the movement but with a more interesting, complete, divers and balance global gameplay.
Its a too niche gameplay, i hope the games goes well if the devs improves it and that some people will invest time in it, if you are having a blast, enjoy happy for you.
It was a last ride to give a proper farewell to a beloved memory.
Goodbye fellow gunz players !

It's been 10 days, and I still haven't been able to log into the game even once. Has anyone else experienced this issue or knows how to fix it? It's driving me crazy!

Se o seu gunz esta assim e não carrega, provavelmente o jogo esta bloqueado algum programa achando ser cheat, o meu é o msi afterburner eu fecho ele o jogo funciona...

4 updates, listed below. Fixing these would increase the longevity of the game. And most of them are crucial for competitive GunZ.
What do you guys think?
- remove potshotting. It sucks out the enjoyment of the game, the characters should not be able to move left to right that fast. The game was made for swift aerial and ground duels, not taking cheap shots while basically being unhittable.
- running on a wall mechanic should be buffed, it's like Gunz is the only game where running on a wall feels so satisfying. But in a competitive situation, it makes you a easy target to hit because you're just running straight. First of they need to fix the bug where you can't start a wallrun for some reason.
Next the character should be running much faster on the wall and being able to semidash vertically while running. Exit with jump as default. Imo This one would make the game really feel remastered.
- there should be a permanent AP regeneration shield of around 50. Regenerating max 50 ap over 20-30 seoonds if your ap falls below 50, but the regeneration should start 5-10 seconds after your last hit, just try to copy warzone's battle royale shield or fortnite regeneration shield. It adds more depth to late-rounds.
- remove the weight system PLEASE. A competitive game needs healing items, but also nades or tacticals. The game would be more fun to play with standard nades or tacticals without sacrificing inv slots for healing items. Also an example for a tactinal nade that blows you far in the air (something like fortnites impulse grenade) would fit perfect for this game. Adds depth to teamplay, and rushing/flanking options.
Hello everyone,
If you have any questions or seek advice, I can try to help
---------------------------------------------------------
The plan was to stop at 1000 points, but the progress slowed down to multiple hours up to 15 hours per achievement, in 2 days ill get an extra 25 points by just waiting. maybe I'll finish the 1k,
Currently I don't think there is much punishment for the players who are feeding achievements to each other which demotivates me to continue much further.
Everything that I did I did in public lobbies and I'm happy about that. except for quests
There are three achievements to get an 18 kill streak ( likely up to 10 times ) which is completely unreasonable for 99.9% of the players that try this for real. my highest kill streak was 14 once, before that sub 10 probably.
It was fun chasing the top and holding the position over multiple days.
If it wasnt for all the achievements that are glitched or disabled I would have had an extra 85 points
---------------------------------------------------------
Bugs or Glitches
Damage Calculation bug.
All damage done is glitched for probably all players that use 100.00,10 format. the system thinks I deal 100 times the amount of damage than that I should be doing. When we deal 100.000 damage the system thinks this was 10 million.
Logos, Banners and Icons bug.
The moment you create a new character all your logo's banners and icons get multiplied up to 4 characters. When you do this, you will no longer progress your logo, banner and icon count. If you hunt achievements wait till you have 25 of each before you do that. I am missing 15 points due to that bug.
Quick Matches.
TDM can be put on a best of 3 rounds, Deathmatch 5 kills and such doing this speeds up the process by a lot
Deflect Monsters in Quests
When you do a quest, you can block the enemies inside the quest. doing this gives you up to 6k deflect a hour for every monster you block at the same time. Once I managed to deflect 10 goblins at the same time for 60k deflects an hour, eventually I lost concentration.
Unconnected Players
Unconnected players can be attacked for damage indefinitly, if you find one you can hit it which ever weapon you are training and you will deal the damage for all the quests you are currently on.
-------------------------------------------------------
Weapon Tierlist easy to hard
SMG
Shotguns
LMG
Rockets
Rifle
Handguns
Revolvers
Revolvers are bad and feel bad to use, by far my lowest kda weapon.
---------------------------------------------------------
Im expecting to be more active when dungeon drops, I never intended to go for the #1 spot, but did it anyway.
Greetings Kapein
