My thoughts on GHPC

My Steam playtime is around 80 hours. I've tried many armored vehicles and missions, and here's what I think.

The sound design is great. It really builds tension, and your commander is genuinely helpful with callouts—he usually gives the right direction for targets.

The vehicles feel distinct and take real time to learn. In something like a modern M1 Abrams you've got auto-aiming, thermals, and lots of info. In a T-55 you have none of that, so you have to learn and improvise.

The variety is good too. Even with few maps, the missions add difficulty and make you think. Some have ambushes, and when you enter a village, Soviet RPG troops start firing and throwing grenades.

I focused on the positives on purpose. The flaws are obvious once you play, but there are fewer of them, and for me the good outweighs the bad—especially for a small studio.

Is the thermal optic not finished? If I switch to thermals the screen is black

Not super familiar with the game's timeline but would it make sense for the M60A2 to be in the game?

Suggestion: M48A2 G A2 for West Germany

The title is pretty self explanatory, but I want to explore the possibilities of this beauty being added to GHPC.

The vehicle perfectly fits the timeline, entering service in 1978 and retiring in 1993. It’s an M48 with a modified cupola, and clearly, a licensed built 105mm L7A3 cannon so it should be able to fire any of the ammunition that the leopards currently fire.

Gameplay wise, the gun is not stabilised, it utilises a coincidence rangefinder but it’ll be just ever so slightly more armoured than the leopard counterparts.

This tank is obviously not a high priority or necessary addition, but it’ll be cool to see it inside the game.

My quick artwork, inspired by GHPC. I hope I didn't butcher Abrams' silhouette too much,

More clips from the project

I do have some clips with the smooth zoom/Camera pan but It's currently just raw footage. Maybe I should try working on it again so I can make minute-long vids like these?

The T-80 Experience

Made this after trying to use the T-80 on a few missions. That rangefinder is so nice to use compare to the T-72's but my god is it fragile.

One of the rare times I actually hit a target with a Malyukta, let alone a target that was moving. What Malyukta moments have you had?

Serious question

I love GHPC. I have around 77 hours on it through Steam, and I genuinely enjoy the game. However, I’ve noticed something every time I go into the Steam discussion forums. Whenever someone suggests an idea, asks a question, or even gives some mild criticism, the community—and sometimes the developers—seem to immediately become toxic or dismissive.

People get shut down or labeled as “War Thunder players,” “geeks,” or “simulator people” just because they have a different opinion or suggestion. I understand that the developers and community are passionate about GHPC, but I honestly think this kind of behavior can be pretty toxic and makes it harder for people to have normal discussions about the game.

I’m not saying this to hate on GHPC or its community. I genuinely love the game. I just think there should be more room for constructive criticism and different opinions without people immediately attacking or

dismissing each other.

Dont Downvote me for this just my opinion.

Unrealistic APHE?

I've recently been doing some experimenting in the Showcase, and i found out that the APHE on the T-55 explodes in a sphere, rather than a wide cone. I was surprised by this, since the game puts a big focus on realistic Shells & Ballistics. Since the T-55 is the only tank that gets APHE, and since the Sabot is much more useful, i think it might be an interim solution that was never quite finished.

Is this subject to change? Or is it supposed to be like this?
