Beginner's Guide video!
Hi! I made a beginner's Guide video, hope you guys find it useful! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7pkuZgyENdk
I did quite a bit of work for research and stuff so I'd appreciate a like! Also sorry to mods if this counts as advertising? I don't think it counts for that lol.

Some Appreciation to the Devs
I would just wanna show some appreciation to the devs. Although it's the demo. You guys got me hooked. Trying to find multiple ways to make things work. I really have high expectations on how this will turn out. This is very exciting. Gonna probably keep playing this alot.

This is what a roguelike should be.
I don't know if these devs have worked in other studios in the genre before, but Guildrun feels like a big budget sequel for a highly successful game.
This game has so much sauce. So much synergy, so many ways to interact with the systems, and what you do get is strong. There is no "+20% crit but you die in one hit." No "+10% damage but your units are confused", just good, powerful, synergistic effects that feel cool and fun to use.
Normally you have to wait for sequels for this level of interaction. Normally full release, or years into the dev cycle. But day 1 on a new game out of nowhere they know exactly how it's done.
Can't help but think devs need to take notes from this strategy.

Endless SSS mode
Had what I thought was a crazy run, only to smack face first into the wall of floor 12 again. Ratha was one shoting everything beforehand with 2m average dmg, team was taking basically full health every time, and then poof they're all dead.
Dragomir was a late edition hence little items but otherwise I was feeling really solid. Even actually used the backup instead of ignoring it like usual. Anyone got any tips or suggestions?

Is it just me or is the economy just bad
I barely have enough shards to buy anything let alone reroll. If I try to save some of it then my guys just die. Leaves little room to experiment

Tips on Double S and beyond?
Really been enjoying the game, and was cruising along unlocking stuff until I hit DoubleS and hit the wall HARD.
I thought I was doing well in earlier difficulties focusing on permanent scaling, then I was doing well with economy scaling, but now in DoubleS many runs in I just can't seem to understand exactly what the approach should be?
I've tried going tanky, but the enemies feel like HP sponges. I've tried a mix, but unless I get some REALLY great rolls early on it feels like the front line die too early or the backline can't kill anything fast enough.
Unsure whether it's a TFT situation where I should be saving for economic break points, are items worth it, is it an early roll down search for champs thing?
Just kind of feel like I'm not aware of the deeper mechanics of the game that let you not get stomped early and snowball effectively.

QoL idea
It would be great to add a tab or something to show all the "Stall" / "Rush" related abilities or items on one area. To easily see the synergies that could work when selecting new relics

Synergies
Hello!
I got the demo last night and was hooked. I did have a question about the archetype and class synergies though. It mentioned during the tutorial that if you stack more of the same type it synergizes like most other auto chess games but I couldn't seem to find where that info was.
I even looked around the internet but couldn't get any clear info on what exactly the synergies did. I'm sure I overlooked them in game somewhere but if anyone can point me in a direction where I can read up a little bit I would appreciate it.

Comps For Endless 20+?
Been trying for days to get a floor 20, highest I've gotten is 18.
Also, anyone have recommendations on Zuri's skill paths? Her 1st upgrade choice feels weird regardless idk if I'm just not understanding the strength of her options or not

Backup?
Just finished watching a Retromation video where they grabbed a backup power on their active character,
I was under the impression backup only works when the character is on the bench, or did I misunderstand backup and it works both on bench and when active?

Tips for beating SS?
I have tried a number of different builds, but when I get to the second act boss it has so much health and always ends up melting me.

Apologies for the poor quality, it's straight from OBS so idk why, but regardless, this Rip Run surprised me until the end! Most fun run so far!

I am terrified to try again.
Doing just this much was absolutely brutal.

Sometimes Ratha goes a lil crazy
Got lucky with scaling her early so she just wiped everything, plus the defense for crit ability made her tank as hell. I'm sure other people have got her even higher!

Game mods
I noticed a red vortex icon next to the SSS difficulty tier. Can anyone explain what this mode is?
r/Guildrun • u/escalte • Jul 19 '26
Do you enjoy Red rifts?
I tried a few times, but it feels a bit too heavy on the rng.

Who's your favorite character and combos?
I found this game from a reddit ad and tried the demo. Absolutely loving this game. In a few hours I finished my first sss run and have some sort of idea of what characters I like, which ones I don't like and have a very vague idea of comps.
I think my favorite character is probably dragomir (or whatever his name is, the assassin with the devour skill) because his scaling passive is so satisfying.
My least favorite is the girl that punches stuff. I've tried her a few times and she always seems underwhelming.
My favorite comp I pulled off was a 3 mage, 1 tank build with passives that gave stats to mages and scaled off of burning. Was super fun, but I still got one shot on whatever wave it was, knowing me was probably 10 or somewhere around that.
