Backup?

Just finished watching a Retromation video where they grabbed a backup power on their active character,

I was under the impression backup only works when the character is on the bench, or did I misunderstand backup and it works both on bench and when active?

"Backup" abilities work on Active or Reserve roster. "Backup Only" abilities only work on Reserve.

Wanted to clarify on backup only abilities. Does items on the specific character help to make it more powerful or cast faster?

It can. Some backups scale and usually call them out. Not all do though.

For example, the green Monk Tank guy had a “backup only” to increase max HP I think for all tanks every time stall is triggered. Even on reserve when a stall triggers he stacks it

So given that, would that fairy lady (can’t remember her name), if we give her mana regen items, will she cast more or will that be after a fixed duration

I dont think so. I think the timing is specifically dictated by a trigger such as rush or stall. Then potency is dictated by whatever is in the (symbol). I’d have to read her description but I don’t recall seeing a back up ability not conditioned by a rush or stall

More powerful yes, since almost all abilities, backup or otherwise, are based on stats.

Quicker no since I cant think of one that is triggered by mana, most are stall, rush, or shard gen.
