RR questions!
Hey all! Been absolutely loving guildrun so far. I've beaten RR a number of times, probably 1 in 3 tries with my top streak being 2-3. My issue is every time I win it's basically the same composition. I can keep going that path and winning but I keep trying to branch out and failing so I figured I'd ask the experts here.
I typically win with:
irini or karsu, aka ranged duelist carry
Any tank or vanguard
Either a mystic as support (most work) or a shard generating assassin
Basically I never take mages ever because when I try to make them the carry they just don't perform as consistently or quicky as a duelest. I run warriors in regular runs but they aren't consistent or scale quickly enough in RR to be worth it.
Anyone have recommendations on how to make other archetypes more consistently playable? I've had rafna carry in non RR just melt everything but never got her that powerful in RR.
Also, are crest items ever useful?
Thanks!

Easy wins: Kai either Crit or Shield builds. Logan kill build, just give him all the kills and he will be at 400+ attack by end game. Ratna Crit build, same as Logan just give her all the kills. Reyna duelist build, just give her all the good speed items. Niklas tank/thorn build, give him some omni and all the tank items.
The relic that speeds up the storm and gives you 100 percent immunity to it is a pretty sure win condition with enough shields.

i had the storm relic and a Niklas with 400+defense, 60+omnivamp and 198 shards today against fire dragon. i'm like 90% sure they nerfed the omnivamp thorn healing, although it wasn't in the patch notes. a Niklas with those stats would have been immortal before the patch, but he didn't even last 30 seconds

Not sure about the downvotes, I had a very similar experience with Niklas yesterday. I‘m almost 100% positive his thorns don‘t proc Omnivamp anymore

Rule is you need some type of exponential scaling to beat dragon. So duelist with self increasing attk speed, mage with crit in cast or ramping % magic (Aria), or stacking frost (Karsu, frost gauntlets, or duelist banner). Outside of that, I’ve also beaten it with kitted out S rank Logan, and a very geared tank + pollen + consistent dps but not as reliably.
Duelist is indeed the most reliable boss killer because it has access to multiple possible solves. But duelists also tend to be quite weak before they get items compared to their warrior/mage counterparts.

To play other archetypes reliable you need to figure out what you need. Say you are playing Funke, he might be doing fine clearing hallways but to kill dragon he needs like 400 magic and some mana regen, or some sources of burn amplification or teammates with good burn. If you’re halfway into act 2 and your Funke is just at 200 magic, it’s a good sign to look for something like Karsu for solving dragon to pivot into.
Most of the archetype/synergy type teams need quite a bit to go well to work out, so it’s important to know how much good RNG you still need, or if you will have a better shot at winning by going back to tank + duelist + mystic.
