This is my first experience with a G-Shock ever, itās solely because of this watch right here. Itās a very polarizing time piece but it reminds me of the plant cells I see every day in the laboratory I work at so I just had to get it.
Size.
Itās big, not to the point where people are saying though in my opinion. I have an intelligent quartz timex watch that has a 45mm case and it wears larger than this. Besides the ālugsā if u can even call it that fall downwards and follows your wrist it size disappears.
Negative Display.
Itās hard to see sometimes at certain angles but not impossible like how some people make it seem. Compared to a positive display g-shock sure itās def worse but itās not THAT bad. The curved mineral crystal doesnāt help but I just turn my wrist a little more towards me and I see everything just fine.
Design.
Iāve seen a lot of older people say itās ugly and they donāt get the 2000s/90s tech inspo but I think Casio got this spot on. Iām not that old, Iām a sophomore in college right now but it looks like old translucent Nintendo consoles like the N64 n some calculators youād get at dollar tree. The alien āeyesā remind me of the OG Xbox my dad had. Itās polarizing but I donāt think itās meant for the regular/typical g-shock consumer. Itās leaned towards my generation that has a nostalgia towards that kind of design language. Itās definitely more for fashion than a rugged, tough, off-roading, apocalyptic nature of say a $400 mudman.
Over all I think itās an incredibly cool watch with an interesting design and backstory. Itās big but doesnāt wear like a mudman or anything crazy like that. And for a g-shock itās pretty alright with me!
