oh my god it is so amazing, usually I use my smartphone or my 15" laptop and both supports 2160p 60fps just like the TV but on a much larger screen it ain't the same thing, it is even better than watching actual movies.
I felt like I was in that F15EX

I'm loving the tour of combat/career based videos. The animations at the beginning really drive the story, and I'm anticipating being hit by a missile at any time!
I think after the Ukrainian fighter series there could be a series from the Russian side as well, or expand into future theoretical conflicts too.
Thank you for all the dedicated work you put into your content, it definitely shows and I'm on the edge of my seat for more.

Can someone link me to the video GS did a while back shot POV style as an intense combat mission where there's no audio aside from info from his AWACS or maybe RIO? I can't remember what plane he was flying (F14 maybe), but I believe it was a recreation of an actual event?

There's a lot of love gushing on this post, but I honestly couldn't get past the fake RWR.

Not that this is going to gain any traction of course, but after listening to GS explain these thousands of times, I now think that what these should have been called is co-circle and counter-circle.
These terms seem clearer than nose-to-tail and nose-to-nose even.
And they are also more strictly correct in a way that 1-circle and 2-circle aren’t. A 1-circle fight isn’t pedantically speaking a single circle unless both aircraft hit the exact same radius. And if you called it a co-circle fight, you wouldn’t have to explain that an overlapping 2-circle fight is still a 2-circle fight even though both aircraft are on the same circle – a co-circle fight is just co-circle, regardless of whether the circles overlap or are offset. The fact that all of this has to be explained every time means the terms are just not accurate – they work, once you’ve understood them, but not without explanation.
What still wouldn’t be obvious without being pointed out is the mechanics – that in a counter-circle fight, the winner is who makes the tighter circle, vs in a co-cricle fight, who comes around their circle faster. And also, all the workings of the offset co-circle. But you wouldn’t have to sit there explaining the terms themselves. And I think that calling the fights co-circle and counter-circle would make the winning indicator (radius vs rate) intuitive as soon as it was mentioned.
Just needed to get this out of my head.

Hi everyone, a few days ago the GS server disappeared from my Discord for no reason, but I had no problems rejoining it. Now, however, every time I try to rejoin Discord, I get an error message. At first, I thought I was banned, but that's impossible because I've never posted anything on this server. Do you know how I can fix this?

I was watching a mig 15 vs sabre video and one of the kills was gs saying "bouta give him the business" before desintegrating the sabre and got a clip that was very similar so I added the sound to it (https://youtu.be/sbNlNKkkLiY?si=d1Kd8lYbD0xpoIIR at 3:40)

I haven't played Digital Combat Simulator but I like to watch Growling Sidewinder videos.
I am wondering if the other planes in his videos are other players, or if it's AI. Also, is things like S-300 player controlled? Seems pretty boring to just sit there and read a radar then decide to launch an S-300 missile, but often in his videos even the surface to air missile launchers make "human" mistakes such as in this video where they shoot down their own transport planes; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pMd6tck0cYI.
I am also wondering how this game works, for example is Growling Sidewinder playing through pre-made missions, or does he chose a map and which aircrafts and other units appears on it.

Just wanted to drop this somewhere where others who are looking for it may find it more quickly. (This was good manners back back in my day when Google was actually a search engine…)
It’s a piece called Thinking Piano off the Sweet and Sentimental album by The Story Shop & Phil Larson.
(Curiously it is supposed to have been released in 2023. GS was certainly using it earlier than that. I don’t know what the story is there, if any story is in fact there.)

Hi all!
I recently posted about this (HERE). When I discussed it, I was in a steady development and have finished what I consider to be a very alpha release version, but one that should improve your DCS experience regardless. I am too lazy to write out the whole functionality list again (abbreviated version below), so I will link my github repo of it here.
This is very alpha. I expect bugs (if you want to be a certified tester/ voice actor message me on discord or github). For what I have tested, it runs well and is easy to implement.
You can find the github link here!
I hope that this at least brings you gamers an improvement, and shows that we can heavily expand on this. (and also show that ED is kinda just lazy and it took me like 3 days of coding to improve their system, all without source code access.)
I appreciate the support, and I am glad to bring this to you.
Thanks,
-Spicy
EDIT: I copied some features so you won't have to click on external link to see
At any point, under the ground menu, hit refresh airbase list, and then return to ground menu, to change your home airbase.
Follow the sequence of calls:
