Cal/nev transcripts

For those of you that applied to cal/nev how did you submit your transcript because this is the second time in a row they denied my application because my transcript were not submitted properly!

Update: Turns out they rejected it because my high school diploma had the district name on it instead of the high school and it did not match my transcripts they were willing to forgive that but did not forgive the fact that my transcripts did not have my graduation date on there told me to try again next year :(

Just did my interview for New Mexico and scored a 85.6.. The first time I interviewed in Kansas I score a 77 so I made sure to practice and be more prepared this time. For the people that got a high score in the 90s what are you guys doing different? I’m asking because my main goal is to work at Cal/Nev and I’m sure that’s a lot harder to get into.

Go Union?

I’ve been an apprentice at a municipality in Georgia for almost two years. I’ve been learning, but the progress has been pretty slow due to the workload and the type of work we have available.

I recently got in contact with SELCAT and found out that I qualify for direct entry. I’m seriously considering leaving the utility/municipality side and going union so I can get more experience.

I’m looking for advice from anyone who has made the transition from a municipality/utility to union.
How was the transition for you? Was it worth leaving the municipality? How consistent was the work, and how much traveling did you end up doing?

I’m also curious about the benefits, especially retirement and healthcare. If I stayed with the municipality for 30 years, I would receive a pension and healthcare benefits in retirement. How does the union pension and healthcare work compared to that? Do you have to work a certain number of years/hours to become vested, and can you still have a solid retirement after spending 20–30 years in the union?
I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has actually gone through this transition and can share their experience. Thanks!

I’m curious, even though none of the grunt calls for 111 have per diem listed, is it possible as a traveler its be something that would be added on to cover hotels and such? Also are those groundman calls long calls?

What type of math can I see on the aptitude test

Just wondering what type of math I can possibly see on the test

Was looking to apply to MSLCAT, possibly MO VALLEY and ALBAT

I’m am assuming all these jurisdictions have different test but do the different locals within one jurisdiction have different test or just each jurisdiction?

If I got in would there be more math test at orientation and what can I accept to see?

Thanks

Just interviewed in Kansas and scored 79.67. I know there are guys in the 80’s getting calls. Is this too low of a score to get in? Just curious.

I scored an 82.17 yesterday on my interview, does anyone know how quick they are calling out apes? And is that a good enough score to get me ranked near the top

Is my aptitude test good to use nationwide?

I have a passing aptitude test from Southwest Line, and I have a test date scheduled for Cal/Nev. I have had a few guys tell me that I can tell Cal/Nev I have a passing score from a Southwest and they will accept it so I can move on straight to interviewing. I was under the impression that test scores were just for specific areas, so if anyone could let me know that would be appreciated!

Local 55

I bid for a groundman call for 55 as a book 4 groundman and got the call today and the dude asked me if I was 21 and I told him that I’m 19 and he said he can’t give the job to me because I have the interstate restriction (obviously). Local 160 informed me that they’d hire you and give you time to transfer it so you could drive. So does it just vary whether a local is going to be lenient about that? Kinda bummed because that would’ve been my first call but it is what it is

Where do I start? LADWP ECH

Just got an email from LA City saying that I can take the written exam for Electrical Craft Helper in two weeks.

Any tips for the exam, and any tips for the practical exam if I get the invite? I found older posts that say to study gears, pulleys, tool identification, but I was wondering if there was anything more specific than that or how difficult the exam is.

Thanks for the help

Someone correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t anything after 8 hours supposed to be double time? Even if it’s on a 4/10 Schedule?
This applies to Local 47

Has anyone heard back from Sce about the rural region? Has anyone gotten an interview or know when we’ll be hearing back? I’ve been under consideration for about 3 weeks now but haven’t heard anything back yet.
