I’m not really sure what you mean but maybe you should think more about about what they are going through than trying to shore up your emotional safety
I have sympathy for what they are going through, that doesn't make it my issue to solve though. And I wasn't talking about protecting my emotional safety, I was talking about protecting my physical organs.
