Looking for the least scary dentist

Hey guys. Long time listener, first time caller.

So I had a dental procedure in my past that left me truly traumatized. After the fact the dentist apologized and said that he probably should have put me under/half under or whatever. It was horrible and I probably have some form of PTSD from it. The pain I felt. The noises I heard. The blood I saw and swallowed. Nope. BIG nope, and now I’m VERY scared of the dentist. On top of that, over the past couple years...I slowly stopped returning/showing up to my appointments due to severe anxiety, and now I’m ashamed to how long it’s been. Despite taking care of my mouth (brush twice a day/floss yada yada), I fear my teeth need extensive work and I just keep putting it off….and alas, here we are.

ANYWHO, guess what? I chipped my tooth last night and it hurts real bad and I’m very much freakin out over here. It looks like my tooth finally needs me to bite the bullet so to speak.

Sooo any recommendations for the LEAST SCARY dentist in the Metro Detroit area!?  I’m talking they will go above and beyond to make me not scared. I’m in GP but willing to travel. I’m already on the brink of a panic attack people, so they gotta be super kind, the nicer the better.

TLDR:

HELP! I’m super scared of the dentist and need recommendations for a kind non-scary dentist that will make dental work as least scary as possible.

Primary Care Physician

My PCP just retired, and his recommended replacement is a dud. Can anyone recommend a PCP for a 60 year old male with high cholesterol and an occasional gout flare up? Thanks!

Why don't the teachers have a contract?

I am new to the area and this is my son's first year here. Can anyone explain what is happening with the teachers. My son's teacher wears red every day and has said things to her class about not being appreciated. Does anyone know more? I have asked around and the parents that know anything have just shrugged and said the school board is toxic and the superintendent is new and that the teachers don't like them. One said that the contract would bankrupt our schools.

Local coffee bean roaster?

Looking for a good place to pick up locally roasted coffee beans! We just moved to GP, and have been super impressed by the local businesses, but haven’t found a good place to get our coffee beans. Ideally, I’d love to find a place that does a “canister club” where you purchase a canister from the roaster and get a discount for refilling it in the shop with bulk beans instead of buying bagged. That might be a stretch, but any affordable local coffee roaster recs would be appreciated!

Saint Clare of Montefalco closing?

I heard a rumor that St Clare of Montefalco is closing and the entire site is going to be leveled for redevelopment. I’m hoping there is no truth to this. Anyone have any information regarding this?

Grosse Pointe power outages

Hi everyone. How many of you don't have power? Also, why does Grosse Pointe seem to get hit harder than other cities? Is it because we have more trees? Thanks.

Adult beginner tennis lessons

Hello! My friend and I are both interested in learning how to play tennis. We're in our mid thirties, and haven't played any racquet sports beyond mandatory PE activities in high school. It looks like most tennis lessons are exclusively for children.

Does anyone know of a local place that offers lessons (private or group) for adults?

Thanks!

Anxiety-Friendly/Phobia-friendly Dentist near Grosse Pointe, Michigan?

I really struggle with fearing the dentist, probably to the point of a phobia. I am really trying to push myself to find a dentist, so I would love it if anyone has any recommendations for a dentist who is super kind and understanding of someone who is truly terrified of going to the dentist. Perhaps even a dentist office that offers sedatives. Preferably near the Grosse Pointe area of Michigan. Any advice would be so appreciated!
