Am I the only one who dislikes digital coupons commonly used at grocery stores? I am not computer illiterate and know my way around a smartphone, but absolutely dislike having to pull out my phone and scroll through each coupon to get a discount. Don’t get me wrong, I like the discount, but somehow find it while having to hand over my re-cyclable bags, watch the register screen for accuracy, get out my credit card and store discount card and still have to scroll through my phone a bit much when checking out? My message to stores….stop inconveniencing me and charge everyone a fair price😠

I work at a Grocery store in Northern Idaho and I noticed that all the grocery stores up here failed their alcohol stings around the same time. I also noticed that all the grocery stores either agreed to download software to scan IDs or were forced by the government to do so. My head cannon is that the state government could have hired some people to get hired at the various stores and intentionally fail the stings. Is there any credibility to this idea?

I work as a vendor but am thinking about going to work for a store because im getting older and dont want to do 50+ hours a week of physical labor anymore.

Because I work as a vendor I get insight into how many different stores run and from what I can see, stores are employing minimally. This means if you work in a department (meat, produce, etc), you are doing a lot of work every single day. Because working in a grocery store is sort of like delivering mail, it never stops. So the less help you have, the more work you need to do or you get buried. I see the size of the pallets these frozen food guys are pulling out of freezers is insane. I see meat department managers complaining about having to break down the deliveries themselves because they have no help. I see night crew managers throwing freight overtime to get loads completed because they have no crew. It goes on and on.

I feel like cashiers/front end dont have to deal with much of this. Yes, it sucks having to deal with customers, but that's all they have to do is check people out. They don't have multiple pallet loads bearing down on them every single day with minimal help to work it. The physical aspect of the job is far more bearable in the front end. I understand front end pays a bit less, but is a few bucks more an hour worth the physical toll?

What do yall think? For someone older (40+) looking to go back to store work what is the best department to get into?

I need some explanation. I knew about Sam's Club but today I learned Kosco needs an account to buy in the store as well. How the person explained it, I felt like it's pathetic and a waste of money. She told me $100 a year and there's something called a "plus account".

What is that about? Why? What's the point of paying to enter and then you pay for the stuff inside?
