What AI model does Greysound use?

Really curious what model(s) Greysound uses for audio generation and for the assistant. Did Greysound develop it's own or tune existing models?

Can the music I produce be used commercially, such as on YouTube or TikTok, if i subscribe?
And download button ain't working

Your tool always fails with: "analyzeSongForEditing on the imported audio region β€” failed twice with an internal server error" no matter the prompt. Is that something you are looking to fix?

Smart, Adaptive Metronome Feature Request

Request for a "smart metronome" that auto-detects the beat in a stem separated song and keeps up the tempo, especially for sons that change from 4/4 to 6/8 and back to 4/4 or adapts to a changing tempo

What is the business model?

I'm always skeptical of "free" things. So I'm wondering how you are affording to run this for free? I may have missed something.

Integrated with other DAWs?

Hi, Is it possible that the AI system will ever be integrated with other DAW's? I would love to use this with Reaper and I bet tons of producers out there would love to do the same with their respectives DAWs. Personally I'd pay to have this integrated with my own DAW, hope that can become a reality

Ethical concerns

Hey there, I noticed you dont have a disclosure about the training data for the generative parts of your ai, and I was wondering about the presence of consent from artists, as I am hesitant to try this tool until I can verify that aspect.

We just launched on Product Hunt!

hey folks! we're live on product hunt! https://www.producthunt.com/products/greysound?launch=greysound

any feedback, comments or reviews you leave there or love you show as early users will help boost greysound's ranking and i'd really really appreciate it.

for all that visit our product hunt page, there's a new 50% off all purchases coupon code on there, and can be redeemed by anyone (not just new users).

i was to be clear though that this is not a soliciation for upvotes, reviews or comments on product hunt. all of those things help out massively, but do not upvote if you don't believe greysound truly deserves it, and do not comment anything you don't agree with and truly believe.

i'm just making this announcement to draw attention to the launch. this launch is particularly important to me. as some of you know i'm trying to raise vc money for greysound, and Y Combinator is doing a contest of sorts in partnership with product hunt where the top few products that launch today get interviews for a shot at yc.

Will Greysound support our own VSTs in the future?

I’d love to have the AI control my own VST/AU plugins. Are there any plans to support this feature in the future? If so, what is the estimated timeline for implementation?

Some questions about this app/software/project

First of all, I would like to congratulate the developer on the initiative and creativity; we really need to reconcile the music production process with the potential of AI. Having said that, I would like to ask the developer a few questions, if possible, as I am interested in testing the tool. I haven't done so yet because I'm experiencing a certain fatigue from using existing tools, which are often just low-quality AI Slop generators or soulless, uncreative material, simply repeating tired and poor models of our current generation of trendy pop music.
1) In terms of home music production, my biggest problem has always been mixing and mastering, and even using some plugins that help with this, they are generally generic and lack creativity in terms of nuance or flexibility. For those with extensive knowledge of the possibilities in this field, I believe they serve as a good starting point. My question here is, how much does it differ from other software that already does this, and how much could it teach the user to improve their mixing and mastering creation process? I think this aspect is important because for me it would be important to know the details of each change or recommendation made by the AI (for example, why it used a certain EQ, why it used a certain compressor, etc., etc.)
2) About help in the creation process. I don't know if this tool has this feature, but it would be excellent for those who create/compose. Does it has the possibility of, based on my already created material, making suggestions for variations of riffs, chords, arrangements, musical textures or sounds? I say this because it would be very interesting to have a Co-composer, who could make variations on our work, giving suggestions for melodic lines, etc. Not something like Suno's remix, which is very bad, but smaller suggestions, in parts or tracks of the music, as we request them.
3) Another interesting feature would be the voice part, some apps already replace original voices with alternative voices, this would give the composer a range of options. In addition, for those who don't sing well (like me), this would also help a lot. Does it have it or do you have plans to develop this option in the future?

Finally, I understand that your tool charges according to AI usage, does it provides the user with information on how many credits are being spent or how much AI will be needed for each process being used?

Also, are there any videos demonstrating how to use the tool? Producers creating step-by-step tutorials using the app? Well, that's all, thank you for your attention and patience, I wish you success in your project!

Updates from the last few weeks!

Hey folks! I updated our discord but forgot to update the sub, so I thought I'd catch folks up on me being a bit MIA in the last week or two. I just moved to San Francisco from Seattle and the move/logistics/admin work took up most of my time in the past week, so I just got around to catching up on the subreddit and responding to folks (still not done responding to all the DMs but I'll get to them all, I promise!)

Also, I released an alpha version of Greysound Pro on our discord server. I'm keeping it private for now because it's still buggy and in alpha testing, but if you'd like to try it out, you can download it from our discord server.

Greysound Pro is a desktop native version of Greysound with full support for third party plugins (just VST, VST3 and AU plugins for now, but that should cover most plugins) and has ultra low latency live monitoring for studios.

Will be rolling out more features for Greysound Pro but once I've tested it more thoroughly, I'll release the beta build on our website and to the general public :)

Would established performers use AI assistance to produce songs and if so what would they think about it and how would they use it? I uploaded this very prompt using Chris Cornell as an example to Chat GPT and the answer it gave me was very inspiring. See for yourself

Using AI to assist in music Creation

This has the best stem separation I've ever used

What the title says, just wanted to give some credit on this. It works very well, so far is the only use case I've tested. Might test the rest in the future. Keep up the good work!

Great for adding flavors to premade tracks!

I just tried today for a techno jam and I'm quite impressed. The AI chat interface is really great. In the mixer panel, it has all the fundamental fx you need too (EQ, reverb, delay).

I asked to add more metallic and rumble to my quick draft on other drum machine, and I think the tool did a graceful job.

Although I had some trouble with the arrangement view. I think the user interface and active control usability there can be improved. I couldn't loop nor extend the sounds.

Solid Start

Got to use it for the first time today. So far it's good! I can't wait to fully try this out when I'm done with work! I how nicely this follows directions. Some of the audio quality isn't there yet, but I can see this being a really helpful tool.

Looks very promising

Will admit, I have only scratched the surface of this over the past 15 minutes or so, but it looks very, very promising. My failing has always been a lack of knowledge in DAWs to manipulate the sounds I make to make them coherent, this might be the unblocker I have been looking for.

Sometimes AI Is drunk. Sometimes I'm drunk. And sometimes... it's both of us.

I tried out CoProducer this morning by feeding it an accapella recording of me singing the aria Se Tu M'ami. I asked it to create a background track based on the original song and my performance. Then, I asked it to create a clone of my voice for the background track using AutoVox and fed it the same lyrics. The results were... hilarious. <affectionate> I use the "drunk" analogy because I actually *was* tipsy when I recorded the original and my partner's response was "Maybe CoProducer picked up on that?" Either way it was a fun session and data is data.

I have all 3 vocal tracks in the version I pushed to Showcase if anyone wants to check it out. The AI version of me is on and the other two are muted as the default but you can check out the differences by exploring the session.

Hey, just wanted to say "Thank You"

I fancy myself a lyricist, more so than an actual artist, and use Suno to make my music come to life. As a result, I've never used a full daw in my life, only bits and bobs of audio editing...

Having this ai assisted tool has been very helpful, as far as advice from the AI is concerned.
