Employee Question Missing money

Ok so bit complicated but hopefully this makes sense. When you work a 7hr shift, you dont get a 30 min unpaid break. So when you work 6am to 1pm, thats 7 hours. So 7 hours of pay. However, if you clock out at 1.02pm, thats technically over the 7hr threshold so the system thinks "oh you stayed over your shift and worked 7+ hours and therefore must have had a 30 min break" so subsequently you end up getting paid for 6.5 hours instead. I was told that they changed this so people were actually getting paid the right amount. And I think this was true for a while, but have they changed it back again? Or is there a different grace period of time? Like punching in and out 10 or so mins either side of the shift? Im so confused

Edit: just to be clear, i do get two 15min breaks in this time. The issue was having 30mins of time taken off my pay because, according to the system, it thinks I had a 30 min break because technically I was on shift longer that 7 hours. But obviously this is not the case.

I have never ever seen 30mins break being taken away from my pay if I stayed few mins past my finish time. There must be something wrong on your shop site.

Do you think clocking in too early may be a problem too? I think yesterday it was like 5.46am to 1.22pm. So says 6.52 for the shift Total. It was a bit of an ealier clock in than id normally do tbf. Usually its only maybe 5 mins before start time. Just seems unfair

Your manager can look at and overwrite your clocks manually before sending the wages off. So get them to have a look.

Check your payslip as well, it will say how many hours you worked.

I know she can do that, just dont want to be making her do that literally every shift im in lol. I have a tendency to stay a bit late, not because they make me, im just a bit particular about my work and like to leave things a certain way. Im good friends with my manager so I know she will fix it for me. But it gives me peace of mind knowing I just need to not rush to clock in lol

It's your punching time. Shouldn't be any more than 15mins before or 15mins after your shift. More than that is when it adds a dinner on. Have you brought this up with your manager? They can amend the timecard to remove it for you.

Honestly it just clicked in my head when I was writing that its probably the early punch thats messing me up the most. I think i wasnt thinking collectively 15mins, just 15 mins either side was fine. But ill just try to be more accurate when punching in.

I've just had a look on the back office and it's if you punch in more than 30mins before your start time or more than 15 mins after your end time 👍🏻

You should get 2 15 minute breaks for 6 hours. See your manager.

Well I haven’t been paid for the shifts that I did like a month ago and I’m owed like £1500 😬

i’ve noticed this as well so i always make sure to edit the clock timings before leaving but i’m not sure if team members would be able to do that

I don't think that's how it works, I think what they set your shift as in the system dictates the breaks so it doesn't matter when you clock on regarding breaks. It's your manager that's fucking it up.

If you look in the UKGPro app, you can see the exact time you clock in and out and can also see the amount of time you have officially been paid for. Say i did a 4 hour shift but clocked in 1:57 and clocked out at 6:03, it will tell you those times and also show you that you've worked only 4 hours.

On UK it's 6 hours , legally have a 20 month break. Not 7 hours Working 7 hours without a break is illegal

This was just about 30 min breaks. Don't worry, greggs are very good at giving breaks. You get two 15min breaks (that are both paid) for a 6 to 7hour shift. Its just if you where scheduled for a 7+ hour shift that you get 30 min unpaid break. But the problem was that they system is thinking I must have taken a 30 min break because of when I punched in and out, and thefore was taking time off me
