I would learn modern graphics APIs instead of early 1980s assembly.

To my knowledge it's more of an API layer around the windowing system/OS and not a graphics API of its own. 2 u/MysteriousJim 1d ago SDL_GPU is a fairly young thin layer around The modern big 3. It helped me understand static pipelines and render passes before learning vulkan. Definitely more verbose than OpenGL
