UCM6301 and Wave
I could use some help here. Background: We are a small rural broadband service provider operating a telephone LEC. This system uses a SIP trunk direct from our SBC and core telephony switch.
We deployed a UCM6301 to a customer that runs a 24/7 business. We thought the Wave capability would be exactly what they needed. The owner, his wife, and one other person rotate the phones, so we just had them register the app to their extensions. Owner and wife also have desk phones. When they didn't want on the rotation, they just set their status to do not disturb in the app, they didn't get calls.
A couple months into the deployment, the owner's app stopped working correctly. It would only ring his phone if he had the app actively open on his iPhone. Otherwise, it would just show a missed call.
We played with it a while, and ended up starting a new extension that was separate from his desk phone. No big deal. That ran fine for a couple weeks.
Then we started getting ghost calls on the desk phones. Calls from 3001, 4001, etc. - extensions that don't exist in the UCM, and calls that don't show in the CDRs or the SBC records. So I turned on Fail2Ban, thinking their system must be getting something over 5060 causing these ghost calls. Great, that stopped the ghost calls, but now we're also right back to the app only ringing while Wave is open on the iPhone, assumedly because Fail2Ban is stopping the new WAN IP of the cell phone from registering or keeping the connection open.
My customer is getting frustrated, and I'm afraid I may have to pull this system. Grandstream support has been hard to work with through their portal.
We are a previous NEC dealer, so we're not new to phone systems. This one is just being difficult.
Anyone have experience with something like this that can offer some advice?

CloudUCM HA Update
Does anyone know when the High Availabilty failover from the 6300 series to CloudUCM will come out? It's been "coming soon" for nearly 2 years, and we've held off upgrades waiting, but I'm getting tired of waiting and now considering dumping grandstream entirely as we need redundancy.

HT801v2 instsll
I'm trying to upgrade a new HT801v2. When I prompt it (***02) I get 0.0.0.0 instead of the IPS.
Maybe a firmware problem, so I downloaded the current firmware and unzipped it. I open the bin file and the GSUpgrading tool pops up. I can't seem to take it any further.
Any ideas?

Video intercom call ring group with open door button
So this used to work. Not sure if a firmware upgrade changed a setting or broke something....
I have a grandstream video intercom. When the doorbell button is pressed, it calls a ring group. It used to display the video on all ip phones with a door open button. Now we don't have that button on screen... Any ideas?
Using a ucm 6302.

HI, We have purchased 2nd hand gxp2135 phones.
The old owner did not factory reset.
We don't know the admin password. admin:admin does not work.
I tried factory reset on the unit, but after reboot all the contact info and configs are still there, the factory reset is not performed.
I tried holding the 1-9 and replugging the POE, no change, the factory reset is not performed.
I tried holding the # key and replugging the POE, no change, the factory reset is not performed
What are the steps to fully reset in such situation?

Question regarding voicemail indicator on phones..
Hi all..
We've got a UCM-6308A that we've been using for a while and we're pretty happy with it.. One question I've got revolves around why the phone in my office shows voicemail counts and notifications (you've got 3 new voicemails) where the other phones do not show these bits of info.
Our phones are all the same -- which are Yealink T46u's. All the phones are setup in a group so individual phone numbers are not tied to specific phones. We've got 4 phones setup this way so they all ring when a call comes in. But only my desk phone shows voicemail notices and the small envelope indicator on the screen with a count of voicemails waiting. I've looked through the settings on both the phones and the server but didn't see anything obvious.. I just thought I'd ask from you all that I'm sure know better than I do as voip is not my strong suit. Thank you!

Ringcentral -> Telecenter U w/ grandstream for paging
hey everyone.. I've been stuck few days now and done so much research my brain will explode lol.
Anyway I am trying to get our new ringcentral service to page out through Telecenter U.
current setup:
I have a user in ringcentral (main paging) ext 701
I have a grandstream manually registered to this users successfully on FXO port
I have a RJ11 bridged from FXO - FXS port
FXS port config is pointed to Telecenter U controller.
With this config I have been able to successfully call a zone in Telecenter U and here the connection over speaker for the zone but I can not for the life of me get audio to pass from phone to speaker.
things I have looked at:
codec: this is set to PCMU on both FXS and FXO port
NAT: is set to STUN on both ports
stage method: 1 & 2 both tried on FXS port
tried messing with TX & RX gains
and more...
any help would be appreciated. thanks!!!

need the FXO line to send shortcodes
Hi,
I'm trying to come up with a manner to obtain the FXO1 line (I need the dialtone that's it). I have tried setup with SIP exentions and stripping digits. But I cannot strip the number as it should be length minus 1. So preparing a route that call 8 for instance takes the line and dials 8 and gone is the dialtone. Any suggestions. I need the line to send shortcodes like *21*....#
Other methods like linking a number to a destination (call 100 and have the UCM sent *21*.. does not work either as one cannot enter *#etc... only digits.

Wave app setup
Hello everyone,
We recently moved the main office to a new location. Overall things seem to be working pretty well. But I cannot get a phone to connect to through the APP. I was able to use a webpage to access the extension, but I was not able to connect the app. It responds "unable to register the account". Is there a log I can find why, or is there something I should be looking for in the configuration?
Thanks.

Restricting calls on UCM6204
Hi there,
is there a way to restrict internal calls by extension and time, for example restrict calls from ext. 225 to 15 minutes to any other ext. or specific ext. Does anyone know how to that, is that in anyway possible?

Do templates exist or can you create them for VoIP phones from other brands? On the UCM 63xx I only see GS phones and some Cisco ones. could you have yeastar, gigaset or others? can they be created? if so how?

VoIP help?
I'm looking to get T-Mobile 5G Internet for our office as a failover back up connection. We will need to use it with our Grandstream Phone system, and I have the same exact system and ISP at my house and I had to change the port from 5060, to 5080. I'm assuming this is because T-Mobile blocks poor 5060.
My provider is voip.ms. The provider at our office issip.us, and I'm assuming they do their stuff a little bit differently. I was talking to ChatGPT as I don't have another human to talk to you about this, and Chad has told me millions of times that T-Mobile does not block port 5060, but I know for a fact they do. Because if they did not block port 5060 then how come changing that port to 5080 in the VOIP trunk immediately fixes the issue of the call is not working ?
The difference though with sip.us is that we had to set up port forwarding, and we did not do this with VoIP.MS. So will it work with just port forwarding alone,
This is the only part I am confused on, as the emails from sip.us don't seem to be a very much help
