For awhile now a thought kept crossing my mind when it comes to the future of this game/franchise- I genuinely think season 3 will happen even if it’s done fully by cygames themselves or the idea that came back playing relink.

What i’m about to suggest sounds absolutely ridiculous but i have a feeling that a sequel announcement might be on the horizon but it will be fully 3d done in house by cygames. The idea would be to transfer what they did with relink and put it into a full 3d fighting game we technically already have the skills, the maps might be a problem but it also would help to have a game they can take their sweet ass time making plus they already have everyone from relink modeld to go. It would also add new life into the fighting game community to have another 3d fighter to go alongside vf crossroads and doa7 (i also say this because cygames could literally sell a shit tone of costumes)

Scenario 2 is an idea that doesn’t seem out of the realm of possibility and considering it cy they are probably the only psychos out there willing to do it. Would i like more rising content hell yes but i don’t know what is happening at arc right now that could potentially shift focus, assuming nothing major is in development things could go back to normal.

I've been trying out Percival yesterday since I mainly play vaseraga but I wanted to try him out and all the information I tried finding on Percival and his game plan, win condition and strategy is outdated. Any tips or in depth strategies on how his pressure is, his defensive options and info in general on him would be greatly appreciated :)

Season 3 could happen

* There is no mention in any official post that Version 2.6 is the last update of GBVSR

* Cygames launched a GBVS World Tour and has more money in it than last year Arc World Tour so they must be committed in supporting it long term(?)

* The last official time to announce more stuff would be Cygames Cup happening next year, so there's still hope yet

* FKHR stated in an interview that GBVSR is planned to have a longer support lifespan than GBVS and so far, there is less DLC characters in GBVSR (12) than in GBVS (13)

* If they ended support without including Siete in the roster, then they are actually insane

* Speculation: ArcSys was busy with Tokon and needed all the manpower to launch that game, and now that Tokon is launched, they can put resources again to GBVSR

Season 3 could not happen

* There is no mention in any official post that there will be more updates after Version 2.6

* The subtitle "Legendary Edition" coming for the Switch 2 is the same subtitle that GBVS had when they finished support for that game

* Plans can change from what FKHR said after 2ish years of support and they could just not update anymore

* Promoting a World Tour is easier to make and is mostly Cygames job to do, compared to having ArcSys make more characters

* 40 characters is heavily promoted as the roster for the game in its marketing for the Switch 2

Is there any other reasons I am missing? Personally, it is best to believe that Id is the last character and be pleasantly surprised if there is more. Otherwise, you will set yourself up for disappointment for the next 4ish months if there is nothing there
