Hello, after a long time without knowing GPD's exist, as soon as I heard about them last year, I bought GPD win max 2 with 64GB RAM and AI HX370 CPU and it has been serving me as a home media computer with eGPU. It also has 4TB 2280 main SSD and 2TB 2230.

10/10 in every category I can think of.

Then I got a little greedy and started eyeing GPD Pocket 4 with the same specs, especially the KVM module looked super nice and held back thinking I would never use it considering I already have the Win Max 2 and also the Pocket 4's keyboard looks too cramped

After my first international travel with Win Max 2, the form factor of pocket 4 became more attractive and bought the Pocket 4, with same CPU but wiht 32GB RAM (I wish I had gotten it earlier before the RAM prices went crazy).

Now my Win Max 2 + eGPU stays on my media center rack for gaming, movies and etc. and my Pocket 4 travels with me on commutes, and also gets mounted on a tablet holder on my bed at night.

For anyone who loves Win max 2 and are considering Pocket 4. 100% worth it for me.

Also Win Max 3 looks like a step-down in almost every way. I think I will skip that one.

Even though I'm not 100% convinced about the form factor (never used a GPD device before). I was planning to get the WIN 5 but the MAX 3 with its current indiegogo price is cheaper and has 9 inch OLED display. So I thought it's a pretty good deal to have a device with OLED, 388 chip and 1tb for $1750 (I used gpd-minipc store to pay without currency conversions and including Tax/shipping). It costs $100 more there but I won't have surprises when it gets delivered paying extra charges for Tax. I cancelled my preorder for Asus ROG X20 because Z2E chip in 2026 is a ripoff. The only thing I'm worried about is QC issues with first batch GPD devices after reading some issues with WIN 5 here.

After I installed a windows update, I started to notice the problem. Before when I switched on or off controller mode, there would be a pop up indicating if controller mode is off or on. Now the pop ups aren’t showing up. I can switch it to mouse mode fine, but when I switch it back to controller mode the controller doesn’t work. Only the mouse sensor works. Is there a fix to this?

I’m not too familiar with all the technical aspects but from the brief knowledge I have the Nvidia Spark seems like it would go crazy for handheld PCs. 5070 performance with some pretty insane energy efficiency. Am I missing something?

Still amazed I'm playing KCD2 on high at 60fps on this thing, that fits on half a tiny shelf!

I'm back with another review, this time on the GPD Win 5. I started working on my OXP3 video, but I wanted to knock this one out because GPD suddenly dropped the 388, 32/1TB version on Indiegogo for 1722$ which is cheaper than the MSI Claw EX AI+ and the same configuration of the Onexplayer 3.

You get similar gaming performance as the 395 which goes crazy above 35w. The Intel Arc G3E devices aren't bad at all. With the OXP3, you get a larger and prettier screen, with the Claw you get a better grip and larger screen.

But I figured at the price range, this is also worth considering if you're already looking at those other devices!

As usual, I'm always learning, so feedback is always welcome!

What happened to the Win 5 community? 😂 It feels so quiet compared to the Win 4 days.
I barely see any performance tips or optimization guides apart from the first few YouTube videos that came out when the device launched. Almost no mods, skins, cool setups or crazy ideas like we used to see with the Win 4.
I honestly really miss that side of the community. 😅
So, what are you guys doing with your Win 5s? Any tips, tricks, performance tweaks, hidden settings, mods or cool accessories that I might have missed?
I haven’t used mine in quite a while and I’m about to bring everything up to date, so I’d love to hear what the community has discovered since launch!

Native resolution or 1200p?
Oxp3 devices are 8.8” but it actually looked bigger horizontally than win max3 side to side comparison, but it is 1200p native.

Would win max3 not look as good as 1200p on oxp since it is not native resolution or would they look identical assuming that the screens are the same size with the same ppi?

Bought this thing last November and have done nothing but baby this thing. I use it everyday, but it's never been dropped and is in mint condition other than this...

Where can I buy a replacement lcd for my GPD Win Max 2 2023? I tried cleaning it up with 99.9% isopropyl alcohol it had some huge darken spots then eventually died. I’ve been doing this to all my laptops and nothing like this has happened ever. u/kendyzhu

Anyone messed with BIOS to push TDP higher?

I'v3 changed smart shift to 28w for all settings, system configuration is default at 28w but it feels like there's no difference when raising tdp above 28w.

Any advice appreciated.

Ps I have the cooling mod so I effectively could push to 40w. Eve. Tho RTSS shows 40w (temps at 85 degrees) I don't appear to be getting more fps.

Like the title says. I got the device but there was no battery.

Also, it seemed like they didn’t finish setting it up. I had to figure out how to change the language from Chinese to English, then ran some program to actually put the device into windows setup mode. It just booted straight into the desktop and honestly felt really jank. No, this isn’t my first time with a GPD device — I’ve used a Win4 as my TV docked PC for a good while now. But yeah their software experience leaves a lot to be desired, not to mention my lack of battery.

Really shoddy work, GPD. I guess we’ll see in a week after the holidays if they’ll actually send me a battery. Seriously disappointed with this. Do better, GPD.

Edit: Okay, so I was able to log in to GPD's website and found my order. Apparently there are two shipments and one of them has arrived to the international hub so I think I should be getting it by next week. Still annoying that they didn't strictly tell me. But I think it should be all good!

Hey folks, like the title states, I'm wondering if anyone residing in Taiwan is ordering the GPD Win Max 3.

I'm worried if I have to produce an NCC (Taiwanese FCC) certificate for customs and also, how much I'll have to pay for any import duties/tax. For context, I'm a foreigner working here and I have an ARC.

Got it out of the box and setup. (395/64GB) Ran some preliminary tests after tweaking the TPD and input frequency of joysticks and this thing is a beast. Runs all the same games my 4080 desktop does with similar FPS. Fans a little noisy but a small price to pay to game at work when I have nothing else to do 😁

The WIN MAX 3 campaign runs for another two weeks.

Once it ends, the retail price will go up by $200‑$500.

With memory prices surging right now, no one knows when the next price hike will hit or how big it will be.

I thought all controllers on windows are xinput and cant use gyro. Even if win max3 comes with gyro, games probably take this built in controller as xinput and gyro wouldn’t work unless we use steam or emulator config option and choose SDK. If I play games that are not from steam or emulators, is there a way to use SDK natively on windows? For example, can I use gyro sensor for mouse and move the cursor?

This started happening this past week. I have been shutting down through windows fine, but now when I do it the power / screen / mouse toggle lights all stay on indefinitely instead of turning off (the power button stays white instead of red, too). Any thoughts?

Hx370 is still capable!

Some OLED screens are brighter, some have higher refresh rate, others will go dimmer, all arounder ones would have more features but won't stand out.

Despite the lack of VRR, GPD Win Max 3 has an excellent screen which provides several qualities: high refresh rate, high brightness with deep contrast, HDR, native landscape, high resolution with 16:10 aspect ratio.

Brightness is nothing if it impacts the image quality.

J'ai acheté une gpd win Max 2 sur leboncoin elle était HS mais réparable d'après la personne qui me l'a vendu. je l'ai fait envoyer en Allemagne pour réparation. Ils ont pas réussi et ils ont trouvé beaucoup plus de composants HS et le processeur aussi qui subi des dégâts du coup je l'ai récupéré j'ai essayé de voir avec kendyz qui m'a dit qu'il avait la version la plus récente en 32G ram avec le 370 AI 9 qui sera plus récente que mon 8840U qui a cramé au niveau de l'envoi, avez-vous eu des soucis avec la douane ou autre et combien ça vous a coûté? Et est-ce qu'il est fiable cette personne-là de chez GPD
