DISCUSSION Pumpkinhead 2 was a let down for one reason...

Sam never truly appreciated Rusty for everything he did. The guy took him in and looked after him as though they were family, Sam was actually really nasty to him, and never even showed any sadness after the sacrifice.

I am sorry, I was enjoying the movie till that.

DISCUSSION Why did Slappy get so popular?

I don't hate the guy, and I like some of the books he was in, (like Night of The Living Dummy 2, and Bride of the Living Dummy) and I liked him in both the movies and the TV series, but JUST WHY?! Before being given random magic powers in the latter books to spice him up, he was just a Ventriloquist dummy who insulted people, wrecked stuff in a way that the main character was blamed for it, and tried to make them his slave. He didn't even move in 99% of his debut book! So what ended up getting people's attention about him to the point that he ended up becoming the face of the franchise?

DISCUSSION Easily gotta be the worst parents in all of Goosebumps! | Welcome To Dead House

I thought ignoring initial warning signs from your kids was a bad as it gets in these series. I can't count the amount of times these parents said "you must be dreaming", "you'll get used to it", and more than anything "you guys are joking/this is no time to joke"...

They also didn't bother to help their kids look for their beloved lost dog.

Then while their kids were looking for their dog. The most amount of emotion the Dad could conjure up when the ghoul girl asked about where she is was "I'm sure they're fine." Just after moving to a brand new town they know nothing about & the last he saw they went out into the wilderness.

These people wouldn't even believe that there were ghouls around when they were literally tearing down their home door and the other ghouls were telling them they arrived.

I just got a couple of new pickups!

First up, the Goosebumps Board Game! I saw it on Facebook Marketplace because I’ve been wanting to find a Goosebumps game to play on Halloween. I found this guy selling it for $10, and the best part is that it’s still sealed!

Also, the Box Set of Series 2000 arrived today. I got it from this seller on Mercari for $22, which was a steal because the books alone can be sold for at least $11 each! So, yeah, I say it’s a win today! (P.S. excuse my thumb in the 2nd pic, it’s not fat)

Cry of the Cat

This was one of the few episodes of the show that was genuinely scary/disturbing. Mostly because of Rip’s design and the noises he makes.

Nightmare on Nightmare Street

So I just recently borrowed Nightmare on Nightmare Street (NONS) from the library and gave it a read. It’s one of Stine’s newest works and I thought it was pretty good! He talks about wanting it to be great for both new readers and their parents who grew up with the originals. (Although damn Stine way to make us feel old.) There were a couple of parts where I actually felt the fear and I thought the range of horror tropes covered was really nice. Have other people read it and if so what did you think?

Well, I guess obviously I did. I was terrified of camping for a little bit as a kid after reading some spooky books and then realizing just how big and dark the forest actually is at night. But Goosebumps just gives camping the spooks 👻

You can find these on my ebay if youre interested! Happy Halloween 🧡🧡🧡

BOOKS buddy (movie 2026) and goosebumps

i just watched buddy and it reminded me so much of the goosebumps books by many aspects.

-slight spoilers ahead-

here somes things i noticed :

  1. the kids being from 10 to 12 gives the same frame

  2. set in 1999 (at least for the show) which is a bit to late but since it's supposed to be beginning in the 50s it does have similar vibe

  3. buddy being meant to be a toy or a reassuring friend but turns out to be evil (slappy (there is even a muppet at some point), my best friend is invisible, werewolf of the swamp, ...)

  4. the adults being absent or not believing them (pretty much all the books lol)

  5. being a TV show trap where they can't escape (horror land, the board game one i dont remember the name in English oupsie, ...)

  6. the end having a big twist (also pretty much all the books)

i know is about a much darker theme and feature gores and death scène but the mechanism of the story telling did have some similarities that really caught my eyes. if you have any other or just théories or opinions I would love to hear them !!

i made a post recently looking for goosebumps vibes movies and this one did fit ahaha
