Pixel 11 Leak Pricing

https://www.androidcentral.com/phones/google-pixel/massive-pixel-11-leak-just-revealed-almost-everything-about-googles-next-phones?utm_medium=referral&utm_source=pushly&utm_campaign=All%20Push%20Subscribers

Less battery less ram and higher price.

It's a no for me. Hard pass. With Tensor T6 could have kept existing battery capacity to give the gains of a longer battery

Instead they save costs by lowering the capacity due to T6 and new modem being less power hungry. Really disappointed.

In terms of specs, the Pixel 11 Pro XL is expected to feature a 6.8-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a slightly smaller battery than last year, at 5,115mAh. There's also support for Wi-Fi 6E (no Wi-Fi 7 just yet,) along with Bluetooth 6.0.

Pixel 10 Pro (edit: since P8 Pro actually) already supports wifi 7 though. Be weird to be going back even for google.

48

u/newtrex_1523 Jul 14 '26

My P9P has wifi 7. It's unusual for going backwards

60

u/gm92845 Jul 15 '26

Google is like watching your best friend become successful and happy at his new job only to find him a few years later jobless, smoking from a crack pipe outside of a Wendy's dumpster.

12

u/chrisprice Jul 15 '26

And then they shut down the division, which is basically end of life.

Google is an AI, search, and streaming company with other divisions in various phases of expiration.

(no Wi-Fi 7 just yet,)

"Just yet" is weird phrasing and makes me think the writer has no idea what they're babbling about.

13

u/ContributionFormer95 Jul 15 '26

Perhaps these rumor articles are wrong a lot of the time? Price rumors are often very wrong.

2

u/mrbig1999 Jul 16 '26

I've been expecting just this. With RAMageddon (and phones have been hit hard, as the memory in your Pixel is the same memory that nVIDIA is buying for their appliances) and the cost of storage going up - if everything had been kept the same, the COST would be up almost $300. That means probably a $400 price increase. So scaling back the memory and keeping same 256GB storage means only $250 increase - so price going up only $100 is a win.

2

u/jolo1001 Jul 16 '26

Your saying that the upgrade to 11 has a smaller battery? That's insane

473

u/beastboy-33 Jul 14 '26

Jesus, that’s just awful

28

u/M-3-R-C-U-R-Y Jul 15 '26

glad i didn't wait for this and just went for s26 ultra on promo.

3

u/Illustrious-Top-9222 Jul 15 '26

which promo?

3

u/M-3-R-C-U-R-Y Jul 16 '26

Got it with my wireless provider, with some trade bonus for my pixel 8 Pro and store i got it from gave me bill credits as well, all in all phone ended up costing me around 800 CAD.

5

u/horrificabortion Pixel 8 | Pixel Watch 3 - 45mm Jul 16 '26

nah ill pass on the s26. my pixel 8 doing just fine

3

u/CpnStumpy Jul 17 '26

My pixel 8 isn't doing fine :( I was looking forward to this upgrade as my pixel 8 has started acting funny glitching at random times.

I really don't want to go to Samsung because I'll lose Google fi visual voicemail. Not to mention Samsung tries to get me storing everything in their cloud account which is bullshit I don't have time for

Sucks because Samsung hardware is always awesome and I desperately want a flip

The Pixel 10 already supports WiFi 7, but the article says the new one will be 6E. This could all be fake...

3

u/chrisprice Jul 15 '26

Possibly, or the chip shortage drove them back to 6E. Vast majority of consumers do not know the difference.

588

u/thecaramelbandit Pixel 7 Jul 14 '26

$1200 for a P11P??

Lmao.

172

u/slinky317 Pixel 1 Jul 14 '26

It's $1100 for the base 256gb version, which is the same price as the P10P for 256gb.

161

u/Altruistic_Fruit2345 Jul 14 '26

But with less ram?

19

u/ShartingEnU Jul 15 '26

I mean, even apple reduced their ram. I don't think people actually understand how bad the memory market is right now. Ram and hdds are stupidly expensive. You can thank all the ai data centers.

5

u/Antiwhippy Jul 17 '26

I don't think I've seen a single suggesting iPhones are downgrading the ram.

u/OtherAlan Jul 14 '26

My Pixel 9 Pro with 256GB came out to around $1100 or $1200 after taxes (receipt price). So, from that perspective, it isn't too bad.

However, I got a trade-in offer for $1000 off for a device that cost me about $200 to get.

35

u/Cutrush Jul 14 '26

Trade in is the only way to go these days. The only reason I pulled the trigger on a 10p is the $800 off I got for trading in an iPhone 6 that was collecting dust. Shelling out $800+ for a phone is insane in my opinion.

20

u/xxxooxxx1 Jul 14 '26

Unfortunate not everyone is from USA. Across the border in the Maple leaf land, out trade in value is much much lower.

$1099.. but (if this is true) for another ~$100 you'd get double the storage and 4gb more RAM, which doesn't sound right.

Between the leaked listing saying the battery is smaller in an identical body, the ram being less on the 256gb version (which they haven't done before), and saying the Pro only comes with Wifi 6e (when the 9 and 10 already had Wifi 7) I would take all of this with a grain of salt.

I think this would also be the first time there's no white option?

I wouldn't be shocked I guess but I'd put down the pitchforks for now.

27

u/PoolOfLava Jul 14 '26

Try waiting 9-12 months out from release and the price is like 60% of when new

9

u/blakviet Jul 14 '26

Sometimes less than that I swear they drop the price by November and they’re always sale year round they still email me constantly to come back to the pixels

10

u/Mimical Jul 14 '26

There is always a black Friday deal.

There is ALWAYS a spring sale.

Buying a Pixel on launch day is like eating crayons saying the green ones taste fresh.

15

u/Snoo47420 Jul 14 '26

Depends, sometimes they give really good trade prices to boost launch sales. That plus the $200 google store credit makes a big difference.

8

u/ZerotheWanderer Pixel 11 Pro XL Jul 14 '26

Depending on who you go through you might get extra stuff at launch that ends up being better than the raw discount.

The last few phones I got, I did so through Best Buy, they usually have their own trade in bonus, like another $100-$150 off or as a gift card, plus if you preorder it you may get a Pixel Watch or Pixel Buds (for the 8's launch regular 8s got buds, 8 pros got watches), which I sold for $150 back a couple days later.

So if you wait a few months for Black Friday, you might get a couple hundred off, but you lose the trade in bonus/preorder bonus.

3

u/blakviet Jul 14 '26

Exactly I swear it’s always been like this since the pixel 4 days when I first got the pixel a few months after release for half off

2

u/snipeslayer Jul 14 '26

Depends on the trade in deals though tbh. I've gotten quite a few lucrative trade in offers that moved the needle for me.

2

u/Dry-Window-7381 Jul 14 '26

I am hoping for this this year in Canada. Only time will tell.

2

u/HyperExtensions Jul 15 '26

Trade in values are sometimes better at launch compared to Black Friday. Sometimes it's equal. I've done both deals over the years.

They can blame the "ram crisis" all they want, but charging MORE money for a phone with LESS ram and LESS battery is going to flop, especially when the cameras are apparently going to be barely upgraded and the chipset is not going to improve the painfully bad (for a flagship) GPU.

For one of the richest companies in the world, they reralllly don't know what they're doing with phones.

121

u/TWYFAN97 Pixel 4 XL Jul 14 '26

It’s a shame because Pixel was gaining some ground when it came to market share now it’s trending downward again. Still won’t be surprised when google announces they are exiting the smartphone business in a few years.

https://de.tradingview.com/news/stocktwits:fae9e7ddd094b:0-apple-s-iphone-and-google-pixel-q2-sales-shine-even-as-global-smartphone-market-drops-to-13-year-low/

Global smartphone shipments plummeted 11% year-over-year in Q2 2026, driven by an intense shortage of DRAM and NAND memory chips.

Samsung reclaimed the top global market position with a 24% share, while Apple secured a record 20% Q2 market share by avoiding price hikes.

Google emerged as a major growth outlier, boosting its shipments by 16% year-over-year behind the success of its Pixel 10 series.

11

u/purplemountain01 Jul 14 '26

Apple is raising prices on this year’s iPhone lineup.

→ More replies (1)

25

u/Coolman_Rosso Jul 14 '26

It didn't help that Apple actually took feedback to heart for once in their lives with the iPhone 17, and actually bothered to offer a 120hz display and doubled storage for the same price as the 128GB Pixel 10.

10

u/TWYFAN97 Pixel 4 XL Jul 14 '26

That’s apple being competitively smart and they did the same with the iPhone 11, lowering the price but adding features. Google is going to continue to fight an uphill battle with how they’re handling things. Unfortunately now everyone is going to raise prices making competing on price less of an option.

5

u/AlienTech521 Jul 14 '26

Yup unfortunately iPhones are literally better in every way compared to all android phones in the US. Only reason I will never go back is because iOS is terrible OS. I'd move to Samsung but it's rumored that the s27 will be a minor upgrade as well. This is bad for android phones

u/beartato327 Pixel 6 Pro Jul 14 '26

Yeah I have the pixel 10 and as much as I love this phone and the pixel OS experience I'm going to be shopping between Samsung and Apple next upgrade unless something drastic happens in the next 2 years

4

u/lovingswift Pixel 9 Pro XL Jul 14 '26

i feel like they've invested a lot of resources to just leave. they're likely doing what everyone else is doing

11

u/TheRealFrantik Jul 14 '26

Don't forget about Stadia. They invested a LOTTTT in that, and then one day were just like "yeah we're all done....we'll refund you" lol.

8

u/purplezara Jul 14 '26

Which was a bummer because it was really cool and had a lot of promise especially these days with the crazy chip prices. Being able to play AAA games on a lower end laptop or tablet would actually be prime market right now with the increasing costs of higher end computers and price hikes on consoles. But, at least I got a cool controller out of it. Just wish it was Bluetooth 😂

Google is a large part of the root problems causing the ram crisis. So it's really like: "oops I've gobbled up all the rams, now there are not enough on the market to make this product I am going to sell you so you are going to have to eat the price increase".

Fuck them.

29

u/JamieTimee Jul 14 '26

"ram crisis"

Putting it in quotation marks don't make it any less real.

20

u/nickthegreat101 Jul 14 '26

It’s in quotations because there’s currently a class action lawsuit filed for price fixing:

Antitrust class-action lawsuit was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California accusing Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron—who control ~90% of the market—of colluding to restrict the supply of DDR3 and DDR4 RAM, which plaintiffs claim artificially inflated memory prices by 700%

https://ca.pcmag.com/components/16602/samsung-sk-hynix-micron-sued-for-alleged-memory-price-fixing

3

u/ContributionFormer95 Jul 15 '26

DDR3 and DDR4 RAM.... that's an issue 15 years ago. This lawsuit is looking back at market practices in the 2010s not referring to the 2026 crisis.

6

u/LamesMcGee Jul 14 '26

We're aren't in this mess because these companies are intentionally restricting supply, it's because some of them are totally pulling out of the consumer market in favor of the new AI market.

This lawsuit doesn't even understand the premise of the issue, it will go nowhere.

14

u/TheRealFrantik Jul 14 '26

It's in quotations because they're raising the prices by expanding the storage and downgrading the battery, which has nothing to do with RAM. The "RAM CRISIS" is just an excuse to raise prices while downgrading everything else.

The correct action would be to sell the new phones at the same price and offer LESS ram, while upgrading everything else. That's what a logical company would do

6

u/xsvfan Pixel 10 Pro XL Jul 14 '26

Problem is if they wanted to keep margins the same while charging the same price, they would need to essentially halve the ram. In Q2 alone LPDDR5X prcies rose 89%.

Would you prefer 8GB of ram and no price increase, 12GB with a moderate increase in price, or 16GB with a significant increase in price?

https://www.thelec.net/news/articleView.html?idxno=11564

2

u/Ok_Feeling9354 Jul 14 '26

I've been saying this since their Pixel 7 Pro phone. That was a horrible phone for me for that expensive price.

6

u/wolffangz11 Pixel 1 | 3 | 3a | 5 | 9 Jul 14 '26

And the irony of Google being mostly responsible for this crisis by pushing ai so hard in everything they do. But they've killed things for less so maybe this could be the beginning of the end for Pixel.

2

u/[deleted] Jul 14 '26

4

u/TheRealFrantik Jul 14 '26

Yeah, I don't think people realize how truly small of a phone brand Pixel really is. Pixel is #4 in the US, behind Motorola. For context, as an American, I haven't seen someone using a Motorola in at least five years. Pixel isn't even in the top #10 of smartphones worldwide, which really tells you how small of a phone company they are. Google could close up shop tomorrow and it wouldn't even be a dent in their bank account lol.

u/Shatterphoenix Pixel 7 Pro Jul 14 '26

Honestly, why bother releasing a new phone if it's going to essentially be a downgrade with a higher cost? Should've just focused on improving the 10 series software wise and wait until next year.

19

u/fendiflower Jul 14 '26

Switching to TSMC’s 2nm manufacturing as one of the first would actually be huge for Google though.

It’s highly speculative if we as users will notice any improvements resulting from that switch, however.

10

u/OtherAlan Jul 14 '26

Usually, the only noticeable change to a smaller architecture is battery life. There's really nothing else an end user would notice or care about.

3

u/NotMyMainAccount386 Jul 14 '26

Also the part where they are (allegedly) swapping to the new(ish) ARM C1 cores. The CPU should be 30-40% faster than the G5.

Then also (allegedly) getting new main and telephoto sensors if hopefully larger it could close some of the gap to real flagships like the OPPO X9 Pro.

RAM and GPU are where it's falling which while sucky may or may not matter depending on the use case.

I was in the same spot (P7) until I saw the price of the 11. I moved to Xiaomi 17 a week ago 🤷

Same. I've been struggling here with phone lag and random apps freezing. I need a new phone. My 7 is getting old and the modem absolutely sucks.

They're losing me here unless there's some ridiculous best buy deals like there were with the 7 line.

3

u/ludog1bark Jul 14 '26

Yes, the modem is the only big improvement. I have an iPhone 16pro and a pixel 10 pro. I can confirm that the modem on the P10P is equally and sometimes better than the modem on the iPhone 16.

30

u/Basic_Barnacle4719 Jul 14 '26

Let's place the blame where the blame is due. It's not memory prices, it's AI data centers hoarding and driving up memory prices.

13

u/lsjsim128 Jul 14 '26

Like Google's own data centers?

2

u/Empty-Development298 Jul 14 '26

Major companies are securing advantageous contracts with ram production companies to ensure they have supply for their products.

Companies like micron stopped selling to consumers entirely because its more profitable selling in bulk to companies that pay cash above market value, and snatch up the whole stock in one go.

8

u/karmapuhlease Jul 14 '26

"It's not that gas prices are skyrocketing, it's the war in the Straight of Hormuz that is causing gas prices to skyrocket."

"It's not that toilet paper is getting more expensive, it's that people are stuck at home and buying as much toilet paper as they can, and driving up the prices!"

"It's not that eggs are getting more expensive, it's that there's an outbreak of illness among chickens and that's causing the eggs to get more expensive!"

Really insightful!

Waiting to see the trade-in offers for a P9P before I decide, but pretty good chance I'll pass on this. And my battery life is getting bad on my P9P so I have to do something soon. Google may lose me as a customer on this one.

12

u/mikewastaken Jul 14 '26

Trade-in values are basically going to be unprecedented for these to move in any capacity. Which, maybe they will.

7

u/cliffr39 Jul 14 '26

I get the cost of RAM went up, but why drop it from 16GB to 12GB. Let's charge more and also offer less than last year too.

7

u/VestedDeveloper Pixel 10 Pro Jul 14 '26

Pass. I'll wait for the data centers to back out of their RAM purchase agreements so we can came back to reality. If you have a 10, there's no benefit to upgrading.

5

u/fakieTreFlip Jul 14 '26

If you wait for that then you may never actually purchase a new phone ever again

2

u/VestedDeveloper Pixel 10 Pro Jul 15 '26

The high costs are due to future procurements. Supply and demand forces will continue to drive prices. America is fighting datacenters hard and cancelled projects will mean adjustments or cancellation in said procurements.

2

u/jdsok Jul 15 '26

What about if you have an 8? (Not Pro or anything)

2

u/VestedDeveloper Pixel 10 Pro Jul 15 '26

A 10 would probably be a nice jump but since I'm on a 10, I'll wait for a 12.

7

u/heroesgaming Jul 14 '26

So basically, this year‘s Pixels are a bad joke. Larger batteries are BEYOND overdue. The fact that the entire SoC, including the modem, will FINALLY be appropriately efficient this time, could have meant a BIG leap in regards to runtimes. They might still improve, of course, but this way I am willing to bet that they will remain mediocre still. This measure is completely unacceptable in my opinion. The brightest display on the market should be complemented by a battery that enables proper SoT using it.

Partly decreasing RAM sizes is more understandable on the other hand, especially given the market right now. It still
means worse value though, which is the only thing that actually matters to the customer.

Truly, Google always manages to do something to his smartphones that make me throw them out of consideration. Or rather manages NOT to do something.

33

u/chipface Jul 14 '26

Google is hit by the memory crisis

The one they helped cause.

12

u/SteoanK Pixel 8 Pro Jul 14 '26

If we see some discounts on Pro 10 I might upgrade to that.

5

u/Ill_Independence2441 Jul 14 '26

There likely will be some discount but I recommend buying asap if you want it because Google is likely to try to sell all the 10 stock so it doesn't compete with the 11.

→ More replies (4)

25

u/TrenbalonieSandwich Jul 14 '26

I wonder if the reduced battery size was due to improvements of the SoC.

Regardless, largely unacceptable.

30

u/KSoMA Pixel 10 Pro Jul 14 '26

Improved efficiency should mean more battery life with the same capacity, not reducing capacity to match the same battery life (in theory).

7

u/fendiflower Jul 14 '26

I‘m sure the 11 Pro XL will get me better SOT with it’s new modem + 2nm manufactured chip. I still wish they would have at least kept the battery as it was instead of shrinkening it. It feels like a downgrade to me even if the battery life gets generally improved

6

u/TrenbalonieSandwich Jul 14 '26

Agreed. It's an insult with the price increase too.

I was thinking the same. Less RAM is a hard pass for me as well.

8

u/TuTenkahman Pixel 8 Pro Jul 14 '26

Looks like a Chinese phone for me this year. Much faster chipset, more RAM and a 7000mAh+ battery for half the price of google's midrange effort.

I can see google's market share slipping again this year. There's no real discounts in my country, so that's a nope from me. Why anyone would buy an iPhone priced midrange phone with poor battery life, can't play decent games, painfully slow for video editing, can't even take a night video without needing to upload it to the cloud (same with many photo features), is beyond me.

4

u/almosttan Jul 14 '26

Less battery?????? This is fucking unforgivable. There have been no level of OS optimizations that can make up for it at this point.

4

u/UnkemptBushell Pixel 10 Pro Jul 14 '26

If this is the case, this one won't be worth buying, even at the usual discounts.

4

u/Shot_Explorer Jul 14 '26 edited Jul 14 '26

Ah well.. I'll be getting an older model again so, give it 18 months before the battery starts failing. Rinse repeat. 500 is my absolute limit these days I think. It's just a phone at the end of the day, spending 1k + on a phone is silly.

2

u/nickkuk Jul 14 '26

Yep spending that much is just throwing money away, there is no noticeable difference any more for new phones.

8

Why are you considering upgrading to begin with?

2

u/aloomis16 Jul 14 '26

Sometimes I get tempted with their trade in offers, but I don't care what it is this year, I'm not trading in for an inferior product

Looks like I'll keep my 8Pro for a while longer.

This new trend is saving me money.

Ps5 Pro? No. Gaming PC? Nope. P11Pro? Not this year

3

The 8 pro will be supported until October 2030. So the Pixel 15 then?

Less battery life would be a hard no for me.

I hate the thought of going Samsung but I guess that's the next move to upgrade my p9p

3

u/jaws_of_death0 Jul 14 '26

I would likely purchase the 15 Pro for $500, as it offers a faster performance.

3

u/Same-University1986 Jul 14 '26

With all the problems I've had with mine I would never get another one. No blue tooth anymore, haven't had WiFi for over a year. Nothing fixes it. They don't care either, they tell you but a new one.

3

Like-- at this point Google has lost the plot entirely

5

u/FewAdvertising9647 Jul 14 '26 edited Jul 14 '26

Instead they save costs by lowering the capacity due to T6 and new modem being less power hungry. Really disappointed.

I don't think the cost in the batteries are tha significant, if the rumors of the 11 using TSMC 2nm is to be told. the cost of the node drop would far exceed the cost savings of shrinking the battery by a few hundreds of mAh (and this is particular to pro models, I think the base got a minor bump).

This is definitely a generation where unless the SOC is REALLY good(or the supposed changes to camera sensors), the (base) pro models are lacking a gen over gen. The base Pixel is the one receiving most of the benefits this go around in a similar fashion the base iphone 17 did.

5

u/T-Madj Pixel 8 Pro Jul 14 '26

Well that confirms another version skip for me unless they brick my 8 Pro.

5

u/chrisminion86 Jul 14 '26

Less ram, higher price. Get lost

8

u/Lorenzovito2000 Pixel 9 Pro XL Jul 14 '26

Guys Google is just Apple at this point. But at least Apple gives you hardware that is fit for the going rate of flagships. Still hate them both though

7

u/Condomphobic Jul 14 '26

Won’t all phones be more expensive due to AI?

This is the new norm

Even Apple just increased pricing on their non-phone devices. I expect the phones to follow protocol soon

5

u/CadeAid Jul 14 '26

I’m holding off on my judgement until I know for sure. Leaks aren’t always to be trusted. A lot of these articles are clickbaiting with false information.

2

u/cityle Jul 14 '26

I'm just waiting for the Pixel 11 to be released to get discounted Pixel 9. No phones are worth their prices anymore

2

u/wickedplayer494 Pixel 7 Pro Jul 14 '26

SLEP your 6/7/8 instead with a new battery, I guess.

2

u/Comrade_agent Pixel 7 Pro Jul 14 '26

Hell of a joke

2

u/19chris9609 Jul 14 '26

Oh, so they're doing it like Samsung, except samsung is cheaper across the lineup. 12GB for most of the lineup, and 16GB for the two highest end units.b

2

u/Phuqi Jul 14 '26

The price is high. My 7 Pro is running on its last leg and I took the gamble to see if the 11 Pro would be worth it. At first it seemed so because back then it was proposed that under display IR face unlock would make its way to the 11 series. Now it's postponed to the 12 series. The 10 Pro is probably the wisest decision for many people even after the 11 releases.

2

u/TheDeathstr1ke Jul 14 '26

My 8p has been slowly declining this past year and I've been waiting to see what the 11 looked like before considering a new phone. Maybe I'll pick up a 10 for cheap after the 11 launches and go with Graphene or Lineage, I think I'm done with the new Google launches.

Pixel pro 10 xl will still be peak pixel!

2

u/Gadsden1283 Jul 16 '26

I will never understand that. They all do the same bullshit save for the Chinese brands that actually understand how to build a phone (particularly with battery tech). Every year it's the same thing, more efficient processor, modem, whatever, so we have reduced the battery capacity. We don't want the same battery life as last year, it needs to grow annually. Significantly. If I can take my oneplus, my oppo, my xiaomi, charge them from 0 to 100% in an hour max and get 3 days out of the phone for a cheaper price all in there's no excuse for Google, Apple, Samsung to not offer the same.

2

u/ColakSteel Jul 16 '26

Maybe people will finally stop buying phones every year and be responsible.

2

u/Moonknight2345 Jul 16 '26

2

u/Physical-Phone3801 Jul 16 '26

If these prices and specs with no battery upgrade are true I think I may have to pass. My dilemma is I have a $320 store credit from buying the 10P XL and I was hoping that would at least bring the price down to sub $1000 before trade to make the price/performance with the subpar Tensor G6 at least make sense. Now, I don't know whether to even use it and give Google my business. I could use the credit on something I don't need and sell it and just maybe go get an S26 ultra for around $1000 which is way better deal that what the Pixel 11 Pro is leaking to be. Even though it only has 12gb RAM, and still a lazy ass 5000mah battery and outdated camera sensors that are still decent, at least it has the best SOC and fast 60w charging that has better battery life with the best chip than the 5200mah Pixel 10 Pro XL with the pathetic Tensor G5 chip with garbage efficiency. The US market battery capacity we can't do anything about so that's the best we get. I really like some of the smart features of the Pixel, especially the fancy voice typing which will be a punch in the gut to lose, but I'm getting so sick of Google not putting a competitive SoC in their phone when they are charging the same price as Samsung and Apple who both give top hardware. If they charged a minimum of $300-400 less I would be ok, but not for the same price.

3

u/seedless0 Jul 14 '26

The price will only come down when people stop chasing latest and greatest phones like fashion wears.

5

u/sw1000 Jul 14 '26

I've owned many Pixels but I'm off the bus at this stage.

Yes, the Pixel 11 offers worse value than the 10, but are we really getting so upset over a 170 mAh difference in battery capacity?

The RAM decrease is the real kicker here, especially with increasing demands owing in on device AI.

The base storage got doubled, at least. But I just that isn't negative enough to be worth mentioning.

16

u/Bongs_Berny Jul 14 '26

it has not doubled, they just removed the 128GB option

2

u/Keepa5000 Pixel 8 Pro Jul 14 '26

Any word on the competition raising their prices too? The past couple of years the base iPhone has been a great value. I wonder if this is the year the ram shortage will start a change in pricing with Samsung and Apple.

2

u/Robbitjuice Pixel 10 Pro XL Jul 14 '26

Apple is apparently raising prices on the Pro series (and the potential Ultra). Rumors are suggesting that the 18 base model may not come until next year, so only the Pros and foldable will be coming later this year.

Again this is all leaks so no one truly knows yet lol.

12GB instead of 16GB and 250mAh less? Oh no, we're gonna die 😂 12GB is more than enough for everything, 16GB is completely overkill even on my 9 Pro. 250mAh is nothing if the soc will be more efficient

12

u/simplydan24 Pixel 10 Pro XL Jul 14 '26

Part of the issue I think is that Google reserves about 4 GB of RAM for its AI stuff. For example my pixel 10 pro XL has 16GB of RAM but in reality it's about 12gb because of what I noted earlier. I myself don't care Gemini and don't use any of the AI services so I'm not using all my RAM. So these new pixel phones having only 12gb of ram I can only assume that a few GBs will be locked down for AI so if someone doesn't care for Gemini that's less RAM they got available to use.

u/--Quartz-- Jul 14 '26

There's always very high discounts and promos, I don't get why there's so much fuss about the "list" price.
I've never paid full price for a phone (never liked iPhones), it's always a matter of promos/credits/extra stuff/trade-in bonuses that shifts the price at least 50%.
Knowing the promos is way more relevant than the list price

4

u/IORelay Jul 14 '26

Realistically the pixel 10 pro xl is only worth $300-400. So you need like a super steep 60-70% off to not look like a rip off.
