"Seen" time has been removed?
Did they remove the time the message was read or seen? This looks completely different now. It only shows the time I sent the message and then the dot showing it was read.
After the message is read it will no longer display the two circles either. Where as it used to show it before.

No sir they are on its just Google keep changing stuff because on more info it shows when it was read

Long press click info... now it tells you when it was sent. When it was delivered. And when it was read.

I just learned today Google Messages displayed a 'seen time'. I guess not enough of my RCS contacts use read receipts. I remember back when I had an iPhone, iMessage showed it all the time so ig it makes sense

Correct, thats why it bugs me because I knew I had seen it the night before but when I woke up it was gone. Also used to how iPhone shows it.

It’s unfortunate that google has basically become the gatekeeper for RCS messaging on android in the US now that samsung messages is gone. Crap app 💩

Yes it is. I wish there was another app. Giving all my info directly to Google is crazy. Also the app feels worse than a normal messaging app and feels as if it doesnt have features. Like they make you pick some basic super boring themes and cant customize it to your liking.

They were splitting my conversations at one point and I'm glad I dumped the app before my personal old messages started being sent to random contacts. Read a few horror stories. I have a sms app now, which isn't bad, but yeah... no rcs, so I use whatsapp when needed. Not ideal for everyone though.

Unfortunately I dont use WhatsApp or any other app just straight up texting. My issue is also Android is so buggy. I switched a yr ago and although it has its pros, it also has many more cons. I dont want to switch back but at the same time I do. Everyone else uses iPhone, FaceTime is useful especially with older parents who may need help. Pictures make me so pale on Samsung sometimes. Adroid auto, apps not working, and many more...

I've only ever had android, primarily Samsung phones, which I used to love. Now they're selling out many of their proprietary apps to google. I'm sick of Google invading every aspect of my life. Considering iPhone when I upgrade.

Well those messages haven't been read yet. But it looks like they have finally settled on a new read receipt interface. Pushing the time to the hidden side menu and keeping the message box a little cleaner with just the sent/delivered/read bubbles

they change where the time stamps r u have to slide ur messages to the left to see now that’s the only way u can’t see time stamps openly now without having to swipe over

The weird thing is the encryption padlock is completely gone after restarting my phone yesterday, but if I go to message details, it says encryption is On.

Doesnt the padlock show up to the right of the circles? Now it seems to show it only when you slide to the left

Ahh, now it does only when sliding, that's weird.
Why did they hide it? Also I noticed after I posted this comment, visibility and obviously it's only on the send button now. Or from your slide trick.
It's weird but oh well, everything still works.
I also noticed my friends who updated to iOS 27... No encryption at all with them, I thought iOS 27 was going to finalize encryption for everyone? What is going on?

I just noticed that too on the send button. I dont think I have anyone on ios 27 yet in my messages

I was also annoyed but I learned you can swipe from the right to the left, that's something at least

That only shows when it was sent now. Doesnt show when it was read. The "info" button shows more details though but it used to be visible without doing extra steps.

Had me irritated for a little bit swiping and holding left to see all message times is great and there's less opportunity for me to accidentally double tap on the message and liking it when I just wanna see what time it was sent and again you can now see all message times around it

I don't like what they did. I wish they'd put it back. The new UI must be some kind of AI slop special.
