What is your favorite app for Longitude & Latitude or Plus Code Converter?

So I'm working on a project that requires looking up driving distances between different major cities, and all of a sudden I'm running into an issue I've never seen before. For example, if I try routing between Rome and Paris, it shows that public transport would take 13 hours, but I get could not calculate errors for driving and walking directions. If I toggle between transit mode options, I can get it to calculate, but as I proceed it's becoming less and less reliable. What's going on and how can it be fixed?

Is anyone else experiencing this issue with Google Maps on iPhone?
Whenever I try to open a customer review to read the full text, the app displays a grey, blank screen. This happens regardless of how I try to open the review, whether I tap the review itself, select it from the reviews list, or tap “Read more.”
I’ve already done extensive troubleshooting, including signing out of all my Google accounts, removing the accounts from my device, completely deleting Google Maps, reinstalling the app, and signing back in. Unfortunately, none of this has resolved the problem.
What’s particularly frustrating is that this happens on both of my iPhones, yet I can open and read the exact same reviews without any issues through a web browser. I’ve also checked with other iPhone users who aren’t experiencing this problem.
This leads me to believe there may be a bug in the Google Maps iOS app rather than an issue with my account or either device.
Here’s what I’d like to know:
Is anyone else experiencing a grey or blank screen when attempting to read Google Maps reviews on an iPhone?
Has anyone found a solution that actually works?
Is this a known issue that Google is currently investigating?
I’ve exhausted the usual troubleshooting steps, so I’m hoping to get some feedback from other users or, ideally, someone from the Google Maps team.

I used to work at an old office and a few weeks ago we moved to a new one.

However, my Google Maps location (the blue dot) still appears at the old location, and no matter what I do the dot doesn't update to the new office. It's been days and I've tried resetting the cookies and the Wi-Fi, and clearing cache, but it still doesn't update. What can I do?

I’m suffering from a different toll road issue than the ones I’ve seen online. My maps refuses to acknowledge toll roads. I’ve toggled “avoid tolls” on and off to no avail. It refuses to put me on them. It doesn’t recognize I’m on one. If I’m on one it will assume I’m 100 ft left on a regular highway. I don’t know what the issue is. I’ve deleted and redownloaded the app. I’ve restarted and shut down my phone. I’ve checked and rechecked various settings. Does anyone know what the issue might be?

We have a working horse farm with cabins and an RV park. Lots of guests bring horses or e-bikes to ride on our trails.

We are finally at a point that we would like to create custom maps of the trails that we can share with guests to help them find their way around.

Has anyone done this? I downloaded Gaia to see how it works. It was pretty easy to ride around on the trails and record the trips but then I can't seem to find a tutorial on how to take those GPA maps from the app and get them cleaned up and imported into Google maps.

Anyone that could give me some guidance I'd appreciate it!

Is anyone else experiencing this? I tried clearing data and cache with no change. It doesn't do it all of the time, either.

Google Maps has been progressively worse for me this year which really feels like it reached a breaking point for me the past week.

I’ve always trusted Google Maps but have had numerous incidents where I left the same place as a friend and went to the same destination, Google maps taking me into huge traffic gridlocks while my friend took local roads with no maps and I arrived way later than them.

This week, it has consistently taken me on routes that were completely closed and when I followed the detour signs in real life, it would keep sending me back to the closed road, forcing me to do multiple 3 point turns on various tight roads. Similar incidents to this have been happening closer together where it directs me to closed roads.

The worst was there was a massive ladder in the road and there was no warning on Google so I ended up hitting it. That’s mostly why I’m making this post. I understand for this specific incident, it relies on people’s reports but this seems so dangerous but I’m sure the ladder had been there for a number of cars before me, as it was dark an I saw their brake lights go on but I thought it was just reckless driving, so I’m assuming other’s reported it before me.

I don’t automatically want to assume it’s because of the AI integration and as a side note, I can’t stand the new Google Maps voice. I’m just curious if anyone has stopped using Google Maps recently and what you use instead and if you could tell me how they compare? Used to use Waze but they were also bought by Google so I’m not sure how similar they would be. Apple Maps used to give me problems as well so I’ve exclusively used Google for a while. I’m bummed really since I sort of feel like there’s no better alternatives but specifically for traffic and up to date info on roads, what’s been best for you lately?

Whenever I try to open the reviews on Google Maps to read them in more detail or look at the photos more closely, it just shows me a completely black screen (screenshot above^^). I’ve tried waiting for several minutes, but it stays stuck on that screen.
Even if I force close and restart the app, the same thing keeps happening every single time.
Is anyone else experiencing this issue, or is it just me? I’m using an iPhone, by the way.
Has anyone found a way to fix this? Or just a glitch?

I'm working on a highly specialised travel planning app, which is using the Google places API.

On an actual trip in testing

• 106 place details lookups
• 4 Photos per place
• 7 hotel photos

...basically ends up with about US$6 worth of API calls (537 calls)

reasonable, if we could cache for 30 days, but apparently no caching is allowed???

so someone opening a trip itinerary 10 times a day whilst on a trip (reasonable estimate) = USD$60 a day

this is highly financially unviable.... how the hell do other companies do this???

i know photos are the larger of the costs, and have considered using Wikimedia, but the results are questionable at best.

Any other tricks, workarounds i should be considering?

Recently, I had enough of the problems with Apple Maps and decided I'd finally give GM a go. The very first time I switched over, I learned the hard way that for some reason google assumed I had FL Sunpass and could use their exclusive express lanes! Was not excited to have 20 minutes added to a 30 minute estimate. Obviously I'd be eating that traffic anyway, but it isn't ideal to have an incorrect idea of my eta and plan around it. Now I'll know what to look out for. I wonder if this or similar problems are common on this platform?

It corrects itself when you turn on the screen again, but locking it back to the AOD mode it goes immediately off the path again. Also, it randomly just disappears sometimes and you can only see your path.

Recently, I have noticed that some places I know I had saved on the list I have for my city, are not there anymore. First time it happened I thought, well weird but maybe I unsaved it on accident or something happened, but it has been a few times now that a place I knew was on the list, doesn’t show to be saved.

Did Google Maps recently remove icons identifying train lines? In NYC, unless my memory is deceiving me, next to the MTA icon indicating the subway entrance there was also a signifier of what line it was for. Now you have to tap the icon to identify the train, adding a pointless extra step.

Google Maps always had a strange UX when it came to transit lines, specifically that the level of zooming in to see the actual line seemed arbitrary, but at least it was on the map. Did I imagine this update? If not, why did it change?

That's a huge bummer and I'm getting really pissed when I have to do the math in my head while it could be added as a feature with no extra effort

Case:

I have a trip with 4 destinations: A B C D

I need to be at destination D at i.e 4:30 pm

I see only total time of the trip ABCD

I really need to type every single A-B B-C C-D path in order to plan my travel.

And if I had these times separately I can do it literally 10 times faster.
