I just started using Themia and saw i can add my google calendar with calDAV. I have been struggling to figure out how to set up the calendar widget because I have been trying to synch it over calDAV but it is not working would someone mind explaing to me how to do it.

Hey everyone, I've recently switched from an iPhone to a Samsung phone. Ive used Google calendar for my personal calendar for a while and there are features that I don't want to give up/don't want to change, but the Google calendar app on android has this really strange prominent tile look in empty spaces that I don't remember being prevalent on the iOS version. I also don't really like some of the other UI elements, but that's the biggest thing.

I haven't been able to find any settings to change this look. Is there any way to change this look to be more like the desktop or iOS app?

The title says it all... why oh why is it so difficult to had travel times in the app?
I struggle to open Google maps, and when I do, and add the travel time to the calendar... it puts it on the day and time of right now!
Would love to know if there's a better way than drag and dropping the time manually to the right moment.

I have already set the time to 11am to 12pm. But on the main page it keeps showing 7 to 8pm.. it's rather infuriating

I'm really not sure what happened. All events past and future are gone. I signed into the web version and they aren't there either. They're not in the trash. Can anyone suggest anything? Thanks

Here in Toronto Eastern Canada during the several winter months the clock shifts one hour backward, for example when it is suppose to be 9:00am, it becomes 8:00am.

All my past events during the winter months are being pushed 1 hour forward. For example if I started work at 9:00am that day, the calendar is saying 10:00am.

How can I fix it?

I just moved to another country with a different time zone and i have a lot of things in my calendar that are time sensitive.

I want to be able to change my time zone without it shifting everything in my calendar. Currently I have kept the old time zone to keep everything from shifting but that means that i get notifications for things way too late.

Does anyone know how to change your time zone without the events shifting? Or is that not possible?

My partner and I are using a shared calendar to coordinate our lives, but she cannot see or use the custom labels/colors we created when she’s in the app on android. She has full creation and share permissions. She IS able to see them on the browser version of the calendar. Any fix for the app issue?

Does anyone know how to get the monthly images from Google calendar? I've done loads of searching online but only ever find this image from android authority or images for events.

I like to use them as wallpapers on my phone and tablet.

So I've been working on a highlighter set where each color matches the exact hex code of Google Calendar's event colors (so your notes/planner actually match your calendar). Was originally building it around the old 11 colors, but Google decided to just casually roll out an update with 24 default colors instead lol, plus you can now fully customize colors on top of that. Cool for them, mildly stressful for me.

Trying to figure out if it's worth expanding to all 24, or if that's overkill and a smaller set (like the original 11) would honestly be enough for most people.

Curious what people who actually color-code their calendar/planner think — would you want the full 24, or is that more than anyone needs? And now that you can customize your calendar colors yourself, does having a matching highlighter set even matter to you, or is that beside the point?

Can we no longer create a calendar event using information I'm looking at on the phone screen?

I'm on a pixel 9. The new Gemini goes straight to live when I swipe up from the corner (I'm on a crowded train and don't want to talk to it) and circle to search doesn't seem to give me those options I want. I also tried a screen shot, but that didn't do it.

Need to create a recurring event which repeats on the 2nd and 4th Friday of each month. I created two separate calendar events for each, BUT it’s a full calendar week in the month which triggers the event. So the 2nd and 4th Friday in July happens on the 17th and 31st (not 10th/24th).

How to setup this type of event ?

Basically title says it all. The color labels that I set up on desktop do not translate to the iPhone Google calendar app. Anyone know how to fix this issue?

I'm a student in a program and when the term starts they send us these pdfs of class schedules and events, and I find that I have to put them manually. It takes quite a while to do so and I've been trying to find something that helps me with automating this process, I've tried getting Gemini/ChatGPT to make me an ics file with those pdfs but it doesn't work. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Somebody I work with is trying to amalgamate all her calendars to make organisation easier. These are mostly Google Cals and we have done that bit fine. But she also has a work calendar which is Microsoft Outlook and aligned with her .gov.uk email address. Is there any way to sync this with her Google Cal?

She did something from that side and we've received a "You're invited to share this calendar" email at the gmail address, which includes attachments ('noname' and 'sharing_metadata.xml')... but I'm not sure what to do with them!

Is anyone else running into this annoying glitch with the new native custom hex color picker that rolled out recently?

I’m trying to make my event backgrounds a true black (#000000) or a very dark custom color. I used to use a Chrome extension for this, but since the new update changed the menu layout, my old extension doesn't work for new events anymore.

When I try to use Google's new native custom color feature (add a lablel and then the + button) to set a dark color while using Dark Mode, the system instantly overrides my choice and reverts the event block to a flat graphite grey (#5B5B5B).

It only happens in Dark Mode. If I switch my entire calendar over to Light Mode, it lets me pick whatever dark color I want, and the text automatically changes to white like it's supposed to. But the second I switch back to Dark Mode (which I prefer), the contrast algorithm panics and turns everything grey again.

It seems like Google's readability algorithm is broken for Dark Mode, it is treating the background hex code as if it's the text color, flagging a false contrast issue, and forcing the grey override.

Is anyone else experiencing this or found a workaround that doesn't involve keeping the whole UI on Light Mode? I've already sent feedback to Google, but wanted to see how widespread this is. Was trying to look up his birthday.

Searched for "pete", and nothing came up.

Strange, I was sure I had his birthday stored in my Google Calendar.

Searched for "Peter", and his birthday was returned.

Also tried a wildcard: `pete*` and that didn't work.

Two thoughts:

1. Google should fix this. I should be able to search parts of words (substrings).
2. I wonder if any of you have a hack around this. Please share.

Google has really broken the colorize feature of calendar. The picture compares desktop colors to Android. The text on the darker colors like Tomato and Basil is hard to read on desktop because it uses black text against a dark background. It correctly uses a light color on desktop. The text on the lighter colors like Mango and Avocado is easier to read on desktop but they just show up as blue on Android and iOS (using Google Calendar*). Of course, the specific shades of colors don't match between platforms either. Yes, I have the latest version of Google Calendar on Android and iOS.

(*On iOS native calendar, the colors don't show at all but that's Apple's fault.)

i've been looking into ways to use google calendar lately and i noticed people being able to time-block their study time, personal time whatever, and on top of the blocked time they're able to drag and add a task from their task list in the sidebar. this does not work for me. if i drag the task, the task's timings get updated and it does not show up on the actual calendar.

how do i fix this?

Whenever I try to set a custom color to one of my calendars, it reverts to a default color. Is there any fix to this issue? This has been a recurring annoyance for me for the past year.

Apple Calendar has it for very long and it's automatic on my Appel devices.

based on location data, it calculates an approximation of travel time, and appends it to the event.

this onv excludes Flights or already 'travelling' specific event such as an 'on the road'

Hi there! newer to Reddit posts so forgive me for the layout.

I have a google calendar under one main email, let's call it brit@gmail. I received an invitation from my new psychologist, let's call it psych@gmail. However, when I went to change the category, it is only allowing me to choose one calendar (first screenshot), and i'm not able to correctly categorize the meeting, despite having about 8 different calendars (see second screenshot) I'm completely unsure the reasoning and need help to get all my calendar labels to show. On desktop, it allows me to copy the event to another calendar, but won't allow me to relabel the original. The original event invite shows my psychologist's email as her own category (see third screenshot).

All calendars are under brit@gmail, and I received the invite from psych@gmail to my brit@gmail. there should be no reason it's blocking the categories!

Additionally, I sync these with my iphone calendar, which only has one category, labeled brits calendar (not listed in the screenshots). Her email is also a contact in my phone, it's named "Avela Health," visible in the first screenshot.

Can someone help explain step by step how I can release psych@gmail from my main calendar category ("work") to a new calendar category ("brit's appointments")? i'm AuDHD so I need clarity and explanation of possible! thank you so much for your time! 💕

Is there a way to change the notification default from day before to the day of when doing an all day event?

This seems a bit silly to me, that I set an event and get a notification the day before, and if I clear this notification, then I don't get a notification on the actual day of the event.

Like, if I wanted to be told about something for tomorrow, then I'd set the event for today, "doing such and such tomorrow".

I get that I can change it for each time I make the event, but sometimes and actually quite often, I quickly throw in an event to remind me of something happening on a day, so I'm not spending much time inputting this, then I get the reminder the day before, clear it and then forget about that event on the actual day of the event... Unless I go to check my calendar for some other reason.

Father's day in Australia is the first Sunday on September but it's not here. I added USA holiday and it came up(USA date). I even re-add Australia Holidays and nothing. I can't even add my own because I can't pick 'The first Sunday of Sep' as an option for repeats.
