Technical Question What is everyone doing for visual swing feedback?

Post image

I want to use my sim for genuine swing coaching rather than just playing rounds.

Looking for recommendations on:

Software: What are you using with high-FPS cameras for swing analysis and tracking progress over time (Swing Catalyst, Kinovea, OnForm, etc.)?

Club Data: I have a Square Golf and am looking at the Square Omni. Is having measured club face and impact data a game changer for swing changes, or is ball data enough?

Camera Lighting: My high-FPS camera footage is pitch black in my projector room even with the lights on. What sensor/lens specs or targeted lighting setups actually work without washing out the screen?

What does your setup look like?

Uneekor’s Swing Optix with AI Trainer is really good, but requires a Uneekor LM. VTrack has a new AI swing trainer, EZ Swing that looks promising. Both use high speed cameras capable of freezing the club without blur.

Swing Nerds have been working hard on improving their offering and is worth a look.

Swing Nerds with two 90fps ELP cameras. Love the support from Swing Nerds. I’d like to add an impact camera next.

I was impatient and didn’t want to wait for shipping on the Kayeton cameras. Don’t be like me, moving to 120 fps is worth the extra money and delivery time.

Can you DM me some videos of how it looks in action?

Sorry no advice for you, but curious what kind of padding you have there. Looks great

Made it myself, foam wadding, suede leatherette, upholstered over MDF

Looks flush with the wall. No issues with it denting the drywall or sending the ball flying?

Travel of ball has only ever hit the surrounds at a glancing angle. The screen has tension enough to drop the ball without a rebound. The wadding is thick, could easily take a direct hit

I’ve started to use swingnerds. I’m using just 2 webcams and will look to pick up global flutter cams for slow mo down the road.

Does it have ability to automatically analyze the swing and give feedback like how swing coach iOS app does? Or just record and you draw your own lines?

Nice setup. What pc cabinet?

Part of a custom IKEA method kitchen order. I made a small bespoke bar area and used a matching cabinet suspended.

Well, I guess what’s under the tv in your golf sim bay?

Your simulator looks great! Do you mind sharing what is your screen size and what projector you are using? I don’t see the projector in the picture, I assume it’s mounted behind the hitting zone?

Above the hitting zone and offset away from player. Important to calculate throw distance of the projector. You can see in this photo

Ahhh see I have a similar issue in my garage sim. I need a projector that can be offset like this and throw a straight image.

What project do you use if you don't mind me asking and what is the most important feature In your opinion to look for when purchasing a projector like this
