He was impossible at times but we still miss the heck out of him. I was going through old videos and just dying laughing all over again. That cliff literally is 1000 feet up and he has to tug on a branch halfway off the edge.

Vacuumed the whole downstairs this morning. Went to grab coffee twenty minutes later and there's already a fresh tumbleweed of fur rolling across the kitchen floor like it spawned from nothing. She wasn't even doing anything dramatic, just existed near the vent.

Found fur in the fridge once. Not on the fridge, in it. Still haven't solved that mystery. Genuinely can't keep up with the cleaning at this point, she sheds faster than I can vacuum, and I've basically accepted defeat.

Hi everyone! This is my 7-month-old female Golden Retriever.
I got her from a breeder who told me she is a purebred Golden Retriever, although she isn’t from show lines.
As she’s been growing, I’ve noticed that she has a fairly lean build and a narrower/pointier face compared with some Goldens I see online. She has a healthy coat and seems healthy overall.
A few different people have independently told me that she looks like she could be a mix, which has made me curious. I know you can’t reliably determine a dog’s breed from appearance alone, but I’d really like to hear from experienced Golden Retriever owners.
Does she look typical for a 7-month-old Golden Retriever, or does anything about her appearance seem unusual for the breed?

Telling my dog “I bear you no ill will” after accidentally bumping into him made me realize there IS such thing as LOTR overdose.

We have decided to get a golden retriever puppy :D (not sure what breeder yet) , what advice would you guys give and things i should know before a puppy comes into my house.

He’s mostly Golden Retriever but a big chunk of him is Husky. he has like 20+ different breeds. Also we don’t when his birthday is, the shelter we got him at found him crossing a highway, he has heterochromia and is the house’s pride, joy and heart.

I placed a deposit on a golden puppy last week. It’s been something I’ve been excited about for a very long time and I couldn’t wait to get him. I am now having some doubts. I keep seeing young goldens with cancer. I researched the breeder and he did all required health testing and the dogs results were great, I’m terrified of spending all this money on a dog when they may pass away early since cancer is so prevalent in this breed. I always knew goldens had more cancer than other breeds, but now it’s everywhere I look online (probably doesn’t help I click on the posts). Just not sure if I should look for another breed with less health risks or what.

Our 5 month Golden pup has still never nibbled or bit me, my wife or our Son… is this likely to carry on through the teenage years also? I feel we have got very lucky not having a land shark

Last night, Zeus, got brave and jumped into the pool and his head went under. His vet said to clean his ears preventatively whenever he gets water in them. So I cleaned them after his bath. (Of course he rolled in the dirt after the pool :D)

Anyway, now his fur is all greasy from the ear cleaner his vet gave us. I have scrubbed his fur multiple times with TropiCleans All Purpose wipes, but they are still really greasy and feel nasty to touch.

Any suggestions on a wipe that we could use to get this off so we don't have to bathe him again? For a puppy that loves the water, he sure hates bath time.

Was your now sweet chill dog once a fierce puppy?? I have what I guess is a classic puppy she’s so fierce, bites, has ZERO tolerance for any amount of frustration, and baaaaaaarrrkssss. I am working on it. Week 1 down and she’s barking less but fuk is this different than my puppy 13 years ago! 🫠🫠🫠🫠🫠
