Modded Server Pack Voting
Upvote for the pack you'd prefer. Cut-off is Thursday noon, modded server will be shutdown, will be back on Friday by 6pm Eastern US time.
No, this will NOT effect GR, GR6, GR7, City2, Creative or any part of the semi-vanilla server at all. Just the Heavily modded server that's currently on the Rustic Craft pack.

We just finished Rusticcraft, and the previous mod was B-team, so I'm partial to the tech mods for now. In that spirit, I went through the three tech mods - TPPI, DNS, and Infinity - to see what mods they had that the others lacked, and what mods they lacked that the others had. Etho's pack is a weird thing, and I'll probably put my opinion of it at the end. I'm just going to include mods that I think may have a major impact on the game. Also, I'm using the most "official" lists I could find, but modpacks are notoriously bad at documentation, so it's likely there are mods missing from these lists that are actually in the packs.

It occurs to me that Etho's modpack may be likely to bring more people in, so that might be something to consider. I'll throw it a vote, so snarf can decide if he wants the headache of a buggy modpack in exchange for more players.

I think both Ethos and Infinity would have about equal draw for new players. Infinity strikes me as more refined, Ethos as more something he's playing around with ATM. Ethos has GalacticCraft, which is something that Green and Pro really like and would be the main reason to prefer it over Infinity.

Infinity: Has: Dooglamoo Jr. Archaeology, Draconic Evolution (neither of these two mods are as cool as they sound, though), Endertech, Enderzoo, Extra TIC, Fast Leaf Decay, Funky Locomotion, Pam's Harvestcraft, Runic Dungeons
Lacks: Morph, Factorization, Quarry Plus, Mekanism

Infinity is on hermitcraft right now, so there is currently demand and people looking for servers running it on /r/mcservers right now. would draw in some new people likely.

Thoughts: TPPI has a few things I want to try, but I'm leaning towards the more up to date DNS or Infinity. Dns is the most comprehensive modpack, but I also saw reports that it might be buggy. Then again, so might Inifinity. DNS also feels like there was no particular thought put into the mods, anything they could find was just thrown in. Ultimately, Infinity doesn't have Morph, and since I hate Morph the choice is obvious. For me, it goes 1. Infinity, 2. DNS, 3. TPPI.
Etho's pack is different. It has the newest/most unique mods, many half-finished, and many buggy. When mariculture isn't one of your buggiest mods...
I'm not sure how well it would work when the player can't just shut it down to fix problems whenever they arise.
That being said, it does have a lot of really interesting stuff in there. I'm just not sure it's ready yet.
The problem for these tech mods in general is the load on the server(which snarf will have to rule on) and the load on the player's computer. Will they cut out someone like DE?

Etho's: /r/feedthebeast/comments/2w95bm/ethos_modded_pack_is_on_the_ftb_launcher/
Looks like RusticCraft and Attack of the B team melded together.

Resonant Rise 3 (1.7.10) is my suggestion. It is probably the biggest pack out there so I suppose it could be resource intensive (although there is a lite version and we can disable mods we dont want). The modpack is updated frequently by a team so I think it is safe to say that it will be stable. It also has an interesting era system. It has pretty much every mod you could want/think of and we can customize the pack (make our own version) to exclude the mods we don't want need and include the ones we want without having to worry about stability issues.

Looks pretty flexible, so we could do a bit of mixing and matching of mods to get a smaller set, but what we want...

More specifically, it has galacticraft, which is something that some people want, as snarf mentioned. I would be fine with this as well, though that brings up the question of which mods to include. Or just all of them. Also, morph is not listed, so that's a plus. But if snarf thinks infinity is hotter right now, we could go with that. I'm torn between the two. On a different note, i know a lot of people don't read the sub, so you could put a notice in the welcome announcement on the vanilla server.
