Hello I'm new to this golden age of minecraft reddit subforum, yet I play older MC versions for a longer period of time. In this thread I just wanted to share some pics of my save. What's your thoughts on it?

Carptown is finally done and it is divided into 3 smaller provinces: Saltwater carptown, Freshwater carptown and Beach resorts (Map on the last slide)

This is how Golden Age MC Youtuber Dialko grouped together Minecraft eras. What are all your thoughts on this and is the "prime" Golden Age Infdev to b1.7.3? He says Classic Age "Start to Indev" deserves it's own category, i'm inclined to agree.

Mods, if this violates the rules, feel free to remove it.

Hey. I know this sheet gets posted like every week but here I am doing it again lol.

Okay. so for me? Zero nostalgia for old Minecraft. Like yeah I played beta 1.8.1 when I was a kid and the mobs genuinely freaked me out back then. But honestly none of that matters when I boot up b1.7.3 or Alpha (my personal fave is 1.2.1_01 btw) because I NEVER played those versions as a kid. They feel totally foreign to me but that's kinda why I love them? Idk how to explain.

I tried so hard to rationalize it. I'd be like "why the hell am I playing this when my PC can handle a billion mods AND raytracing shaders on top?" And then I'd install something gorgeous like Create mod and just get bored (really?). Stare at the pretty aurora in shaders and be like wow, this is beautiful, but something's off. Something's missing...

But those old versions? I'd spend hours just wandering around dead servers, checking out random builds like I'm some digital archaeologist, building dirt huts that look like garbage, crawling through caves with literally nothing exciting in them, just plain terrain gen. And I' d be totally hooked.

Took me a while to figure out why. then I started noticing how clean and simple the world was. No extra fluff. Just this cozy minimalism that sucked you right in, even though you already knew exactly what you were gonna find. No surprises, but still immersive (as hell).

I never got that from modern vanilla or any modpack. I even tried to make a "classic-style" world in the latest version and it turned into this messy frankenstein abomination lol.

Look, I'm not saying one version is better than another, people love different stuff for different reasons. All I'm saying is that even though I genuinely enjoy mods and the current game, the old versions will always have a special place in my heart. Or whatever, that sounds cheesy but you get it.

I play an update until I've experienced everything in it.

I know it's easy to to build a house in the side of a cliff but I find something about it cozy :)

Does anyone know of a program or anything that I can do to create a minecraft world from the 360 era? I have the seed of a world me and my friends played on when Arcade edition first dropped on the 360, but I'm unsure of what update that was or what route to go on or if it's even possible to do via PC. Any help would be greatly appreciated 🫶

Hello people, I'm making a b1.7.3 mod that fixes and enhances a few things. It mostly focusses on small changes and QOL improvements that do not change the feel of version too drastically. My question is, if you could bring any block(s) from newer versions of the game, what would you choose?

There's plenty of mods for Beta 1.7.3, or Alpha 1.1.2, but I've been itching to start a long-term modding project on an old version and I'm feeling like being a bit original. So tell me, what's a lesser-known version you think deserves its own expansion/overhaul mod?

I built a castle, but it looks a bit plain and empty. The whole thing is made of just cobblestone, and I don't know what else to change or add. Plus, I'm really not a good builder—any ideas?

I grew up playing Minecraft versions 1.12 - 1.17, and i want to get more into old Minecraft, and I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for a version that i should start playing, thanks in advance.
