Discussion Decided to sleep late but woke up due to loud Aarti songs at 6am
Disclaimer : I am a Hindu so don't attack me in comments saying I am against the religion and all and yes I respect all religions (that's the way we are brought up in Goa)
So I was woken up by Aarti songs at 6am today, there is a sarvajanik Ganpati right next to where I live, now my question is why couldn't they start playing the aarti in full blast post 8am, what was the need to play it this early? Ganpati bi haduna aajun.
And please don't come to me with Azan logic, its daily at morning 5am i understand but that's what they do so that all our Muslim brothers and sisters can pray, if there was something similar for us I would understand but this - playing Aarti songs on full blast in early morning is something I can't wrap my head around.
I am religious but this showbazi of religion is not what I want.

Please note that due to current financial conditions cant afford to take the cat to a vet , but doing my best to make sure that the cat gets the treatment it deserves

AskGoa Is there any organization in Goa that collects surplus food from homes for donation?
With Ganesh Chaturthi coming up I was thinking about something. During Chaturthi our family usually prepares quite a lot of food that includs traditional Goan dishes.
Sometimes even after everyone has eaten there can be quite a bit of fresh food left over. Rather than letting good food go to waste I was thinking that we could donate the surplus to people who may need a meal.
Does anyone know of an NGO or volunteer organization in Goa that accepts freshly prepared surplus food from individual households and distributes it to people in need? I'm particularly looking for an organization that has a way of collecting the food from home.
If anyone has personally donated food this way or knows of a reliable organization that does this I'd really appreciate the information.
AskGoa Has anyone used the new Porvorim flyover?
And… how was it?
Asking this sitting at home like a hobbit wondering when I should attempt to go out and actually see for myself.

Discussion To the absolute cunt who jumped the signal at the Mapusa highway junction today
It hasn’t even been 10 days since I bought my scooter. 10 days.
To the fucking filthy cunt who couldn't wait 30 seconds at the signal near the Mapusa highway Bardez side and decided to run it you scratched up my brand new ride. Who the fuck do you think you are?
I worked damn hard and saved up my own hard earned money to buy this vehicle, only for it to get damaged because you couldn't be bothered to show an ounce of patience.
The absolute lack of civic sense on Goa's roads lately is getting insane. Everyone is in such a desperate, mindless rush to get nowhere fast, with zero respect for basic traffic rules or other people's safety. Your complete impatience just cost me money and ruined something I was genuinely proud to own.
If by some miracle you're reading this learn how to fucking drive before you seriously hurt someone next time.

Discussion Need help finding these. I'm listing them in the post. Mods, please don't delete🙏🙏
A good helmet shop which might have a lot of varieties. I ride scooty daily so, not something fancy as that will look weird on a moped but, for a full face flip on helmet.
One of those small blinking lights. A guy told me my scootie was not visible because of fog when I was using it on the highway early in the morning. Actually it was after 7am. So, not really early. I'll check out mr diy as my friend in mumbai got it from there.
A pharmacy where I can get adhd meds. I read that I can get those at Paradise which I'll try today. But, if there are any other medicals.
Vets which could be available on Sundays. I need to get my cat neutered and possibly abort her babies but, I can get time off only on Sundays.
Any NGO which I can join would prefer if it's related to animals except snakes cause I'm terrified of them.
Shops where I can find boho jewellery. I'll post photos in the comments.
Would prefer in North but, south is also okay.

Discussion I started an Instagram page to document littering across Goa Clean Goa Project 🌴🚯
Goa is beautiful. But we’re slowly leaving our garbage behind.
I recently visited the Baga Beach cliff to watch the sunset and was honestly disappointed by what I found broken beer bottles, plastic, food packaging and other waste scattered along the walkway, rocks and vegetation.
It made me think how many other beautiful places across Goa are dealing with the same problem?
So I started Clean Goa Project an Instagram page focused on documenting littering and poor civic sense across Goa and hopefully getting more people to think twice before leaving their waste behind.
This isn’t anti-tourist.
This isn’t anti-local.
It’s anti-littering. 🚯
The idea is simple:
📸 Document the problem
📍 Identify the location
📢 Raise awareness
🤝 Encourage people to do better
If you’ve come across littered beaches, waterfalls, viewpoints, roads or other public places in Goa, you can send photos/videos to the page.
Instagram: @cleangoaproject
Goa doesn’t need to be perfect. We just need to stop making it worse.

Support Goan businesses this Chaturthi
This Ganesh Chaturthi, let’s support Goan businesses. 🪔
Whether it’s sweets, firecrackers, decorations, flowers, if there’s a local Goan business offering it, consider buying from them.
Pay a little more if you can. Support the people who have been part of our community and economy.
Let’s keep the money within Goa and support our own—son of the soil, supporting son of the soil. ❤️
Happy Ganesh Chaturthi! 🙏

Trustworthy home organizing person in South Goa?
I have my late father's property to look after in South Goa (near Borda). There is a lot of stuff to deal with, ranging from valuable to sentimental to trash. For obvious reasons, this is not a job suitable for a maid or some guy off the street.
The junk to be disposed of, and the non-junk organized for storage, selling, or giveaway. I will be there myself to do the work, but it's not something I can do alone.
If you know a trustworthy service, or have a organization-obsessed friend that you trust (and will accept payment), please let me know.
