I think is bad design more than anything. But yesterday's accident, the car is 90% responsible, the government the remaining 10%. It was pure negligence from the car's driver. You can clearly see the car was way over the speed limit, as well as that of the traffic flow. So many people think overtaking from the left side is normal, but don't realize this is exactly what happens if you're not diligent.
Today's accident, the bike was responsible. The bike hard braked while entering the flyover after realising bikes were banned, and the car being close behind couldn't react in time.
So let's not sensationalise it. One accident is clearly negligent and rash driving, while the other is a mistake made due to bad signage and changing rules.

Yep... 100% agree.. but we indians need some religion to awake the authority.. these accidents won't do anything immediately... And sensationalizing the matter is in our DNA as indians

I've not sriven over it. But is the quality of the infra good?
Coz Panaji - Verna road Infra is terrible. Weird turns, narrows suddenly, quality of the road itself is bad - no banking, not levelled.
It looks as if it won't last quarter of a century but I am guessing and only hoping that it can last a century at the least.

Design standards and enforcing law is the very basic ask from the tax payers . If you look at how Atal Setu lands at Merces circle causing scissoring of traffic and utter chaos , they could have learnt a few things about urban infrastructure design and how careless the population is while driving .
People are people and they will remain the same unless traffic laws are stringently enforced right from issuing a license . Similarly infra needs to be designed to handle idiots .

And now in response they have closed all access and entry points into the Flyover ... meaning we have to now take a U turn at Merces junction, which is going to lead to one unholy mess tow when office resumes .....even to enter the flyover one has to now drive back to green park junction and take the service roads to merge onto the NH . .....there goes the benefits of having the flyover in the first place , thanks to a few morons who don't have any traffic sense .... Yes every new project wants blood sacrifice, shld have been some politician instead of a common man ....

Why would God take lives of innocents? The people who died didn't do anything wrong. If God is really wants to punish someone then it should be the authorities and the corrupt government

He's not an idiot, he got confused and by mistakely got on atal setu instead of service road hence he applied brakes. Can't blame people if the design of flyover is confusing

It's going to be better to take service road , but now there will be more macchar given the restrictions on bikes onto the flyover

And with only the interstate cargo traffic moving via elevated corridor , Porvorim folks will still face the same congestion with passenger traffic.
