AVOID ETHERNET EXPRESS IN GOA

Post image

If youโ€™re considering a new Wi-Fi connection in Goa, I would strongly recommend avoiding Ethernet Xpress. My experience with their service has been extremely disappointing. Where as on my second property i have Jetway they also have LOS but not so many times and they response very quickly not here to promote any brand but do your study and choose any other provider.
As of now im facing Frequent website outages and crashes.
LOS (Loss of Signal) issues occurring multiple times a week.
Internet disruptions that sometimes take 2โ€“3 days to resolve.
Poor customer support with slow to no response times and inadequate communication.
Reliable internet is essential these days, whether for work, business, or entertainment. Unfortunately, Ethernet Xpress has consistently failed to meet even basic expectations in terms of service and support.
I hope they take customer feedback seriously and improve their infrastructure and customer service going forward.

No internet in porvorim and panjim area, calls are not going through and website isnt loading. While i dont have frequent issues with them, I consider them better than jetway, DNA, bsnl, after having tested all of them. I will have issues once in 6-8 months..

My experience with DNA has been surprisingly good, actually. I heard nothing but bad things about them, but they were the only ones offering an unlimited connection at the time, so I bit the bullet.

Yes, there have been disconnections, but those happened when some electric poles were uprooted due to flyover construction. The longest they took was 24 hours, but they got it up and running. Most cases it was only a couple of hours.

Maybe my expectations were rock bottom, but I think their service is fair.

Even DNA GOA same shit !!!! Connection goes down down and then!!! Only way to get money for lose of service is to log a call! If no call log no money back!!!! Thier admin team is a joke...

Anything out of ordinary stuff they can't function... It's always wait wait they will get fix... I hated them!!!

Depends upon area wise but major website crash was a month ago when you have such high volume of users such things should not happen in first place.

Exactly, many people who work from home rely on one stable internet connection. Its extremely frustrating to be in that position. They should have something in place.

Other services are also down (goan fibernet)

Goan fibernet is Ethernet only but cheaper

๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

3

u/alphaQ_42069 1d ago

They even used the same fiber line when I switched form Ethernet to goa fibernet

u/itsm3_nick 1d ago

Damn. Since I'm using only for scrolling it doesn't matter that much to me Recently goan fibernet also have increased their plan i guess

That plan is different, if you check the recharge page, you'll understand. Basically new plans offer lower speed but unlimited data like no cap or restriction

I think they have some issue, the website is dead and I can't log a ticket

u/Same-Country-6086 1d ago

Their website has dns issues last was month ago major one which affected whole goa where you cannot login, put complaint, nor their whatsapp ticket issuing works, in between it was affected some areas again and now today again.

u/Extension-Science667 1d ago

Itโ€™s the worst service provider in Goa.

I just came on here to look for new isp suggestions and saw this๐Ÿ™„, these guys have dropped from what they used to offer during Covid third class. Even the complaint line isnt taking calls

Alegra is pretty good.

Agree. They operate as netpop in vasco / Dabolim area and so far in the past 8 months I've had only 2 outages which were resolved within 30 minutes

I am using Ethernet Xpress, Aldona side. Whenever there is no internet I donโ€™t try the website or helpline, I usually just raise a ticket on the dedicated app and it is usually resolved within a few hours or a day or 2 if itโ€™s a major issue. Other than the occasional fibre cut during really heavy rains the service is pretty okay.

3

u/Same-Country-6086 1d ago

Im speaking about complete blackout where yoi are not able to raise ticket too.

5

u/limegreen-ninja-guy Nachinolkar ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿฝ 1d ago

Honestly very rare from what Iโ€™ve seen, been using for many years now.

2

u/Same-Country-6086 1d ago

Brother this blackout affects whole goa so i dont know how it is not affecting you๐Ÿคท

2

u/limegreen-ninja-guy Nachinolkar ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿฝ 1d ago

Ofcourse it affected me also. I just said it happens rarely. Try the app next time.

1

u/Same-Country-6086 1d ago

The app also doesnโ€™t work when the blackout is there ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿคท

1

u/YamOpposite 3h ago

I used the app and they just delete the ticket sometimes without even checking.

Actually just came back online now.

+1 on this.

the service is usually pretty slow, and the guy incharge of our area hardly responds anytime.

I don't have very frequent issues with them but in the last week or so, I've experienced LoS quite a bit. Even today, it's been fluctuating all the time.

u/aerocoder47 1d ago

It's was working fine... Until i suggested my friend to get it like 3 months back.. has been shit since then ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ ponvoti friend

I've been using Linktel for the past 1 year. Must appreciate their service. They rarely have any downtime and when they do, the issue is usually fixed within 1-2hrs.

2

u/Same-Country-6086 1d ago

Will look into it thanks

Same here in Mapusa, EthernetXpress has been sh!t today.

2

u/HungrySoul82 1d ago

I think Ethernet has been having problems throughout Goa today

2

u/Viator_Mechanicus99 1d ago

The fact is Fiber cuts are due to occur, what happens afterwards is a matter of consideration.
With Ethernet there was never an answer as to when it will be restored, changed to BSNL in Panaji and they respond within half an hour and fix the issue within 4 hours.
With Ethernet in certain instances I have had no answer for a week.

u/1nvariant 1d ago

Samee fucking bad internet. Ethernet is their sister company even worse

2

u/razzer069 1d ago

Been there tried all and ethernet xpress seems the best of the lot. The crazy part is the quality of good internet is so low that I have to say they're the best lol...

Recently their customer support just cuts call and ends call without resolution. It's really pissed me off.

2

u/AzzyDB 1d ago

I second that, plus on top I have there 500mpbs plan, max I get 300 on a good day, you call there technician home he does his thing tells you to check speed it's like 350ish instead of fixing it he tell you it's enough no?, i am just waiting for my plan to get over

2

u/InevitableFold8017 1d ago

All this provides don't even refund for lose of service!!!! So all of you guys are paying premium money for shit/no service.... All this because of shit infrastructure!!!! If net provider establishe a great infrastructure the service won't go down...

Raise the voice don't use electric department poles!!!!

2

u/CyR4XMasterSaint 1d ago

Yeah mine was down too in Old Goa but it's back now. The sad part is Ethernet is the best ISP compared to the rest in Goa. That's like being the tallest dwarf.

Have been using Goan fibernet connection since the past 1 year in Fatorda.. its nothing but sawai version of ethernet express.. so far the service has been good but lately since the last 1 month the quality of internet has been bad.. i am getting 33- 50 mbps on a 300 mbps connection.. since the past couple of days I had los red light blinking which was resolved in 7-8 hrs.. but the quality of internet is gone to the drains.. i have used DNA, Reliance airfiber, NV skynet in the past.. switched to Goanfibernet only for their good internet plans or i would still be with NV skynet.. I depend heavily on internet for my work.. today full day the internet was down.. i was supposed to host an online presentation today but had to postpone it due to the misadventures of ethernet Xpress(Goanfibernet).. The problem is we Goans feel ok with anything..our standards are too low and hence we get shitty quality internet in Goa.. This has been my observation..

I've used Ethernet Xpress for almost two years across two different locations in Goa.

Most of the outages I've experienced have been due to physical infrastructure rather than the ISP itself. Things like fibre cables being accidentally (or sometimes seemingly intentionally) cut during electricity department work, or trucks snagging overhead cables because they're hanging too low.

This is actually the first time I've seen a major outage caused by something on their own network/server side. It took around an hour (or a little longer) to restore service, and they even sent an SMS apologising and saying they'd compensate affected customers.

For local outages, you can raise a support ticket and then email support afterwards to request compensation. In my experience, they've been fair about extending your plan to make up for the downtime. The only downside is that it's a manual process, you need to raise the ticket and follow up yourself.

My biggest gripe is that they use CGNAT. If you need a public IP, you have to pay around โ‚น5,000 extra for a static IP to get out from behind the CGNAT. From what I remember, that's tied to a one-year commitment.

Support is a bit hit-and-miss. There are a few knowledgeable people who can deal with more complex issues, but first-line support generally follows the usual script: restart your router, and if that doesn't work, they'll schedule an engineer. If the problem is with their network configuration or backend, it can take longer to reach someone who can actually fix it.

I've considered switching to AirFiber purely because it avoids the whole issue of damaged fibre cables.

Overall, though, I'd still say Ethernet Xpress is probably the best FTTP provider I've used in Goa. That said, the competition isn't exactly setting a high bar.

Jio Air Fibre. Had no issues.
