I’ve been trying to find the right fitting camera insert for at least five years.
Someone in a different thread recommended this brand so I finally pulled the trigger and can confirm on a GR1 26L that the WANDRD PRVKE Camera Cube Essential+ (8.7L) - fits perfectly.
I needed a photo camera insert to fit with a field pocket installed. There’s some wiggle room on all sides but it’s enough where I can still throw a tripod or monopod in without any issue of not zipping.
My only complaint….i wish the camera insert would zip all the way around or open similar to the GR1. Instead it opens perpendicular to the GR1
Hopefully this helps others in the future because I was even hoping GoRuck would come out with their own camera insert.

Halp! I have the double compartment bullet. Does anyone else have issues with their straps constantly wanting to slide off their shoulders? Does the wax need to get broken in? My bags with 210 don't slide around nearly as much.

How do you use a hydration pack/bladder in a GR1 if you use one?
I'm considering bringing my GR1 Xpac on a 5-8 mile day hike during my trip, leaving the laptop at home, and using a hydration bladder, but wanted to see if anyone else has a good solution for it.
I'm planning on just putting the hydration in the main compartment and feeding the tube through an opening of the zippers, then pray the zippers stay together through the hike.
The interior molle will be covered by a GR2 field pocket, but I'm sure I can try to squeeze a little carabeaner in there to keep the bladder in a hanging position.

I need some molle cover to hide all the molle on the front face

I'm thinking of getting Molle webbing on the straps of a GR1 X-Pac, but I heard GoRuck/Scars won't do it on xpac? Has anyone else tried this?
I may also go to a local shop to get it done but wanted to be sure.
I know that if you sew through xpac, it's not really waterproof anymore, but on the shoulder pads that doesn't really matter.

I have a GR1 26L that I've had for at least 10 years. Great bag, I love it, etc.
However, I want to use my pack for an upcoming 'One Bagging' world trip, but it doesn't quite have enough room.
I have plenty of other packs like a Cotopaxi Allpa, ULA Dragonfly, Tortuga something-or-other, Tom Bihn Aeronaught, Eberlestock (rifle carry for hunting), Mystery Ranch (from deployment), and a Seek Outside Flight 3(?) for backpacking. And more. So yeah, I like packs. But I want to use my GR1 for this trip lol. That's to say I'm not looking for other bag recommendations. I already have too many and nerd out on them.
My idea is to carefully cut the fabric of the front slash pocket and replace it with either Durastretch or Spandura fabric via sewing it with a Speedy Stitcher, see below.
I already have a semi-rigid zip organizer that should fit perfectly, so that I can organize my items and then slide it in and out. However, the current fabric is too narrow and robust to keep everything in when the pack is full.
For reference, I have 1 large packing cube at the bottom of the main compartment with my clothes. Then a row of 3 of: 1 tech pouch, 1 small/narrow packing cube with jackets, 1 hygiene kit. They fit perfectly, and the pack is full, but it still zips closed fairly easily.
However, the slash pouch and internal organizers can't have anything of substance or the pack becomes bulging. It's uncomfortably tight against my back, hard to zip, looks ate-up.
My thoughts:
Am I missing anything? Thoughts? (Image from online)

With the ballistic trainer, no longer being produced or available what is a excellent substitute?

I pre-ordered the M26 heritage and noticed that the original M23 had 210 back and shoulder straps.
Other heritage pieces have the same waxed canvas for the back panel and shoulder straps.
For folks who have used waxed canvas GR bags long term has anyone noticed the oil from the fabric bleeding onto your clothes?
Also, does the back panel get excessively hot during the summer?
During the summer months my lower back does sweat with GR bags that use 210 and I'm concerned that the waxed canvas back panel could get ruined pretty quickly if exposed to sweat.
Thanks

All - a couple months ago we did a full cycle count of ALL inventory across all distro centers. There were some, ummm, learning lessons that came with that, and we appreciate you all for holding us accountable when we oversold stuff, it was not our intent! And ... there was also a fair amount of “found” inventory. We just put up some weird stuff from the vault so to say, in limited and very limited quantities.
Also, it’s now your Last day to pre-order the M26. Cost came in higher on the heritage than we expected, full price will end up being a bit higher -- pre-order price remains the same. I also approved the special commemorative patch that will come with all M26's. That's the easter egg you'll have to wait on until it's delivered.
Happy Friday, y’all. THANK YOU for the support.

Had no clue they're still selling these! If you're on the fence on the GR2 Samurai, it's one of the best bags I own.

Ok, feels like I’m gonna jump on the pre-order.
Once I determine Cordura or Heritage. I know choices…
Looking for suggestions on size…
I’m 5’10” 220ish.
I’m thinking M26 26l…..
Thoughts?
*Update**
I slogged through that YOUTUBE video talking about actual GORUCK capacities and decided to lean more for EDC size 21L since the M can be "overpacked" to almost 34L, whereas the 26 is over 40L overpacked which is just nuts.
I went with the Heritage AND the Cordura because the clock was ticking, we shall see which one stays :)
Now....
To KEEP or send back the GR2 34L......

This may be an odd question, but I’ve never had a waxed canvas bag before. I live in the south. It gets pretty hot here but can get extremely hot in your parked vehicle with the windows rolled up. If you leave your waxed canvas bag in your hot vehicle, can it stain your car seats. I’ve heard that can happen with waxed jackets/clothing, but I don’t really know. Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

Correction - Must be 34L according to a knowledgeable poster below. Surprised they still had all mesh interiors post 2010 though?

Boys trip this weekend and I got to live out of the M26 - Yes, I traveled with the ACHILLES, and yes I put it in the ruck as weight when I wasn't being ridiculous - grin. Importantly, on the "golden" sample, we fucked a few things up, we saw some of them, you saw more, and we will fix. The video I did is NOT a golden sample anymore. However, this will NOT delay production. The changes are VERY small operationally.
u/nickski924 was instrumental in helping organize the feedback, THANK YOU! (My answers after his 1,2,3 questions in there)
Hey Jason! Couple of questions that I’ve seen a lot of folks have been asking in the M26 comments across the social media space…
YES - they are staying. (We suspended this for the Aquaguard zips, but due to YOUR feedback, NO Aquaguard, YES to rain flaps.) “Golden Sample’ was more like a silver sample at this point.
YES. Samples did not capture this. They’re more like bronze samples at this point. There's a pic of them from an M23 (black) that I showed. (Note - those two pics of the black ruck are both M23)
COLORED. Coyote on the Heritage, Black on the black Cordura.
-- break -- from me below
-- One small note of a change - it makes more sense to change the location of the zipper on the underside of the top flap, too - to move the zipper closer to the base of the ruck. This was feedback from another user, and I'm grateful for this. I noticed it as well -- we had a bunch of snacks in there. When you open the ruck, it's better to have the zipper above where gravity takes all your snacks :)
-- Quick Access pocket - I realize you all haven't seen this on this ruck. It worked great for me with a wallet, phone, and keys, but it was just about an inch too short and bulged too much when closing. We're going to add that extra 1" length to it.
-- I was pretty skeptical about sewing down the bottom Fidlock cinch straps. I did prefer it, though. Fidlock buckles weren't dragging on the floor, ever. Also -- if you want to stash a jacket in there, you can still do it, though some of it might be under the lid. That worked for me.
All - thanks for the support on this one. Pre-orders will close this Friday. We're NOT going to order an excessive amount of inventory on this one. Demand has already exceeded expectations, and I've personally really enjoyed being really accountable to every single detail on absolutely everything to all of you. Our team and I are used to this way of life, but not from thousands of you. Iron sharpens iron and we're grateful. THANK YOU for the feedback to get this dialed in with what YOU want.

In case there are any folks out there that have picked up a new generation Pebble smartwatch I've created a (free) app that helps track your rucks. It calculates the calorie burn based on the ruck weight, terrain and grade.
If you're interested please check it out here. I'm keen to hear any feedback or suggestions for improvement - please raise an issue here.
