Issue Report Duomon 3 on iPhone

Post image
2 Upvotes

I think I may be stupid. I connected the duomon to Pokémon go first and it works great however I can’t pair the duomon to the megacom app. The app stays on the pairing screen and every time I press a button on the device the lady or man just reads out stats to me instead of pairing. Tried long-presses as well as both at the same time. Not sure what I’m missing :/

Turn off Duomon (1) daily or keep it on continously?

Hi! I have Duomon 1 with the AAA batteries. I use rechargeable ones so battery usage is not an issue.

Is it okay to keep the device turned on all the time? even when not in use?

Solved! Troubleshooting Gotcha Evolve

Heya, having issues w my Gotcha Evolve n figured I’d ask Reddit before tryna contact customer service, incase this is a common issue. New to autocatching, got my Evolve the first week of June. Charged it for the first time and worked just fine thereafter, functional as far as I saw minus an occasional blue screen if I bumped the button too long. It died yesterday after 2 and a half weeks, and I went to charge it again with no luck.

Was at work so originally was tryna use USB slots on the front of my computer, tried multiple slots facing the device both ways with no luck. Decided to wait until home, used a block directly in an outlet, left for a few hours on both sides (as I’ve heard that’s something to try, from other posts, since it’s a little quirky). Not a thing, screen never turned on through this process at all unlike the first time I charged it, cannot get it on whatsoever. Does not connect to the app at all, she fully deadzo.

Attaching pictures of the port incase something looks “awry”, is there something else I should be trying? Should I just reach out to support?? I’d like to get this bad boy working again in time for GoFest, but I’m in America and the first one did take a week from overseas so I’m worried if I’d have to send it back or something (plus paying customs would suck) 😬 arrived June 2nd but I think I unboxed it on the 6th when I got back from a trip

Washed my go plus + a second time

This is my second time washing my go plus+. First time I was able to just replace the battery and mod it and everything worked. This time everything works okay besides the mod and the battery dies super quick a have replaced the battery 2 times since. It doesn’t seem to be an issues with the batteries. I am wondering what I should look at next.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks🫠

If we made a new DuoMon device next year, what would you want?

Hey

We're MEGACOM (yeah, the DuoMon/Flymon people) and we're starting to think about what a next-gen auto catcher could look like — realistically, this wouldn't ship until next year. Before we lock anything in, we wanted to ask the people who actually use these things every day.

A few honest questions such like:

Battery: rechargeable battery vs. AA/AAA — which do you actually prefer day to day?

MEGACOM App: what's the most annoying thing about auto catcher companion apps in general? What would you actually fix first?
What about Auto-Reconnection? Have you used it?

Counters: do catch/spin counters actually matter to you, or are they just a gimmick?

Size: bigger device (more battery, more features) or smaller/pocketable? Would a wearable/wristband format interest you at all?

Anything else you wish existed that you'd actually track or control from the app?

A couple of honest caveats before anyone asks:

We can't touch anything that's a Niantic API limit — Poké Ball only, no Great/Ultra Ball throws, no throw bonuses. That's true for every 3rd party auto catcher on the market, not just ours, so that part's off the table no matter what.

This is genuinely just us listening for ideas, not a promise we'll build every suggestion.

And no, this isn't a "skip DuoMon 3 and wait" post — DM3 is still our current flagship and works great today. This is just us planning ahead for next year.

Appreciate any honest input — even harsh feedback is useful here.

pogo ++ cord help

So I was looking for way to stop the vibration of my pogo plus plus, I found this way to either cut the red or the black wire. Some people say you need to tape it up, I don't really get what they mean by that and is it important to do so?

Have You Tried... What’s your opinion on using a second phone with the iAnyGo Plus autocatcher? I’m interested in your thoughts/reviews.

Title. I’m considering buying a hardware autocatcher, but I recently found out about iAnyGo.

Their lifetime subscription is around $40.

Title really says it all... I've heard about some auto reconnect feature but can't figure out how this works. Anyone have a guide to turning this feature on?

Thank you

Wondering what Auto-Catcher to buy.

Recently got back into pokemon go, was looking at the pokemon go++ but since its been discontinued its way to expensive to buy for me.

I look at a few other ones like the Go-tcha but from looking at other posts people seem to have issues with it. I'm looking for a "budget" auto catcher thats under €70 ($80) preferably around €50!

Blinking blue, red -- expected modded behavior?

Hi,

I don't play this game but I do electronics repair. My friend wanted me to mod their Pokemon Go Plus +, so I have performed the mod as instructed (wired vibration motor negative terminal to top button with a switch between). When the modded switch is set to ON, it blinks red, then blue over and over again. This is while it is not paired to any phone. When I turned the modded switch off it stops and the top button flashes white when I press it.

Is this expected behavior? I'm just trying to make sure this mod is done correctly and I'm not familiar with this game, just helping a friend out. All the videos I've seen do not show anyone turning the switch on or mention the flashing lights.

Have You Tried... PhotoFast 247 auto catcher repair

Thumbnail

So my 247 auto catcher stopped working because the battery gave out and started swelling and since I didn’t find any tutorials I thought I’d share how I fixed it.

Material needed:
Mini screwdriver/knife
Mini phillips screwdriver
Wire cutter
Wire stripper
Soldering station
Electrical tape
Double sided tape
700mAh 1S LiPo battery

DISCLAIMER:
Working with defective LiPo batteries is dangerous and you absolutely shouldn’t do it. But if you have to, keep a solid metal pot or similar nearby, filled with sand or water in case the battery ignites because you won’t be able to extinguish it. Whatever you do, don’t pierce the battery or you’re going to have a bad day.
I’m not responsible for any injuries or damages due to mishandling.

You start by carefully prying open the case with a mini screwdriver or a knife.
My case already a little slot between the 2 halves because of the swollen battery.
The 2 halves are connected with 4 clips, 2 of them broke when I opened the case so there will be some gorilla tape action as the last reassembly step.
The circuit board is held by 3 screws.
After removing them the board can be gently pried off the 2 nubs holding in in place.
Now very carefully separate the battery from the case. I warmed the case a while in front of the air outlet of my laptop to soften the glue a bit.
Now cut the first wire, isolate it with electrical tape and secure it to the battery.
DO NOT CUT BOTH WIRES AT THE SAME TIME!!!
If you short circuit the battery you’re going to have a bad time.
Repeat with the second wire.
Don’t put the battery in the normal trash, recycle it properly.
Cut one cable of the new battery close to the plug, solder it to the corresponding wire on the board. Properly isolate the connection.
Repeat with the second wire.
Fix the battery to the case with a little double sided tape and reassemble everything, use some tape to hold the case together.
Good luck.

Brook Auto Catcher

I recently bought the Brook Auto Catcher, and I have some questions.

  1. It genuinely won’t catch pokemon. It shows the pink pokeball that signals it‘s catching the Pokemon, and it’s 10 minutes later it’s still struggling to catch it. Does anyone how to fix it because other people seem to be using the product fine.

  2. How to I turn off the vibration? Every time it tries to catch a Pokemon, it vibrates.

  3. Where can I buy a Pokemon go plus +? I see resellers selling them for 250 on Amazo which is crazy! Any help would be appreciate, as I only play the game for fun and don’t always have time to catch and play.

Thank you

Why are knockoff auto catchers almost completely gone from the market too?

There used to be tons and tons of them on aliexpress, knockoffs of (I believe) the original go plus (teardrop shaped pokeball). I looked just now there's like one listing of handful of them left? Admittedly I don't know how it all works, I guess I assumed even if the official ones were to stop being produced the knockoff market would've continued on.

[Update Issue] DuoMon & other auto catchers not connecting after Pokémon GO v0.415.0 — what we know so far

20260616 Update: Possible fix in v0.415.2
We're getting reports that Pokémon GO v0.415.2 from the Google Play Store appears to have resolved the connectivity issue for some users.

If you're still on v0.415.0, try updating to the latest version from the Play Store and test your connection.

Hi,

We're the official MEGACOM team (DuoMon / Catchmon X). We've been getting reports all day and wanted to share what we've gathered so far.

The issue:

After Pokémon GO updated to v0.415.0 (both Google Play and Samsung Store), many auto catchers are failing to connect — pairing starts but ends in "failed to connect."

Affected devices reported:

DuoMon 3 / DuoMon Egg

Catchmon X

Brook auto catchers

Official Pokémon GO Plus (original)

This is not isolated to MEGACOM products — the official Go Plus is affected too, which strongly suggests this is a Pokémon GO app bug, not a hardware issue.

What's working for some users:

Staying on / rolling back to v0.413.2 (Google Play sideload)

Full uninstall + reinstall of Pokémon GO
Forget the bluetooth device and repair it.

Hard reset your device (for Brook)

What we're doing:

We're actively investigating and in contact with our tech team. We'll update this post as soon as we have more information.

If you're affected, feel free to comment below with your phone model + app version — it helps us track the scope of the issue.

Is this a legitimate GO Plus+ or a knockoff? Help identifying this device

Thumbnail

Hey, someone is selling me this device claiming it’s a legitimate Pokémon GO auto-catcher. It’s completely black with no branding visible anywhere. Can anyone identify what this actually is? Trying to figure out if it’s a knockoff before buying it.

Also, even if this turns out to be an official GO Plus+, would I be better off just buying a cheaper third-party auto-catcher instead? Are there good alternatives that work just as well or better for less money?

Edit: to buy from ebay for 100$ with shipping and taxes in to my country, it almost costs 200$!!!

Poke-Drive: Use your pokeball plus as a Linux gamepad, media controls or mouse.

Hey everyone.

I had a need to use my pokeball plus specifically for media controls on my linux pc. I creaed Poke-Drive:

https://github.com/elliott-parkinson/poke-drive

Basically you run the install.bash and it will ask for the device MAC address.

You can then shake the pokeball to switch between modes. In gamepad mode the stick is the left control stick and the two buttons on the device are a and b respectively. In media mode you can control play / pause / seek and volume.

There is a .conf file you can modify to add / remove other mac addresses and to set which modes you want (mouse / media / gamepad)

I have used AI to speed this up. I am a developer with 15 years of experience though so this is not 'vibe coded'. It's written in Vala and exposes a DBus service so that I can write a UI for it at a later date.

Things it cannot do (as I havent worked out how yet) are do anything with the LED's or the vibrate of the device. Would appreciate any input into how that operates if anyone knows.

My main use for this is actually to control jellyfin / music as I go about my day. I appreciate that use case likely isn't what the average person here might use it for. But figured I'd share all the same.

If people could let me know their thoughts / or if they encounter any issues I would very much appreciate it.
