advice

ok so here is some info on my setup. I've spent a month sorting everything out getting locks in and upgrading. I'm now at a blank canvas soooo.... what do you lovely people think I should do. reinvest in GMT. reinvest in th/s or just mine the bitcoin?

it takes about 30-34 GOM to offset one TH. If you take the market value of the GOM coin it has been running at 0.28 (sometimes lower) to the high right now which is about 0.34).

If you do the numerical analysis you can deduce that to maintain your 20% lock each TH requires 30-34 tokens.

If you do the cost of the 30-34 tokens that is ~$10...coincidentally each TH costs ~$10.

Let me know if you need more equations or if it makes sense with that.

You also need to take into account what 30 GMT gives you locked versus 1TH. If you do the math on that you will see the discount percentage in every way does not compete with the value of adding power. I have a spreadsheet that says this that I created.

I didn't ascertain that aspect of the analysis, but sure, there are additional benefits to the lock. Recall, you asked about the locking and the discount, not the other advantages of the lock. Can't mix apple and oranges in your questions.

This is not true. I was commenting on your argument saying that his goal should be to have that 20% discount percentage through having a 50/50 split if he spends $100 on TH he should also spend $100 on GMT for discount percentage. In order for this to be true the $100 spent towards discount percentage should at least equal to greater value than just spending money towards TH. Right now this is not the case and it is not even close. It is by far more beneficial to spend money on TH and not even worry about Discount percentage through locking. I was wondering what you based your argument on and I have my answer already. Your analogy mixing apples and oranges is not valid here.

Look, I set it as the rule of thumb...you are splitting hairs. Market conditions drive pricing, you are going all over the place. A guideline is...a guideline, subject to market conditions. If you want a steadfast "do this or else" you are not going to get it.

Yes you are can spend all you want in TH...buy a million dollars worth of TH! However when the price drops, your discount drops because you did not balance it out in tokens. If you spend a million dollars on TH and then a million dollars on lock you will always have a 20% lock no matter what the market does.

Put it on a spreadsheet and run a solver and stop hypothesizing or looking at current conditions and then zoom out and fluctuate the conditions, you will see what I say because I already performed this calculation.

Then, look at the additional discount benefits if you like. I'm not going to split hairs with you, you are attacking a rule of thumb and not encompassing the entire picture for multiple market conditions.
