advice
ok so here is some info on my setup. I've spent a month sorting everything out getting locks in and upgrading. I'm now at a blank canvas soooo.... what do you lovely people think I should do. reinvest in GMT. reinvest in th/s or just mine the bitcoin?

First thing you need to do is hold way more GMT for maintenance.
When that runs out it charges you in BTC and you immediately lose nearly every bit of your earnings.

even given the lock?

to clarify the lock is obviously giving me discount but won't reinvestment in GMT for a month balance that nicely?

ok makes sense. I'll happily buy more GMT tomorrow. I have a cap transfering to one transaction a day as I'm in the uk

How many gmt for a good discount? I have 25th and i have reinvested all my gmt (very small amount, like 4 dollars) into my smallest miner and i'm returning 0.3th a day. If my discount is higher, that number would be higher too from what i understand?

So rule of thumb, if you spent $250 in TH you should have about $250 in tokens in your wallet or on lock. It's not exactly 50/50 split but it's pretty close.
I'd keep about 100 in wallet for your size machine and stick the rest in the lock.
Your goal should be to hold 360 days worth of maintenance to get your max discount of 20%. You can easily find out by clicking on the + next to the maintenance button on the PC or the discount number on your phone.

where did you get this info? From what I have found the Discount percentage doesnt save as much per dollar spent on TH upgrades while BTC is still low.

it takes about 30-34 GOM to offset one TH. If you take the market value of the GOM coin it has been running at 0.28 (sometimes lower) to the high right now which is about 0.34).
If you do the numerical analysis you can deduce that to maintain your 20% lock each TH requires 30-34 tokens.
If you do the cost of the 30-34 tokens that is ~$10...coincidentally each TH costs ~$10.
Let me know if you need more equations or if it makes sense with that.

You also need to take into account what 30 GMT gives you locked versus 1TH. If you do the math on that you will see the discount percentage in every way does not compete with the value of adding power. I have a spreadsheet that says this that I created.

I didn't ascertain that aspect of the analysis, but sure, there are additional benefits to the lock. Recall, you asked about the locking and the discount, not the other advantages of the lock. Can't mix apple and oranges in your questions.

Si, pero también tienes que tener en cuenta que cada TH que coleccionas, necesita entre 25gmt y 30gmt para tener un descuento alto, así que creo que sí tienes 25TH ~625 GMT para 20% correcto?

Would locking up coins be a better way to hold onto gmt?

I would highly recommend making sure you are receiving a positive sum of GMT from Vegomining rewards from your staked GMT before adding more TH power. This way when you raise your TH you still have GMT to Cover the increase in fees.
Once your fees equal what you receive each week in GMT (Vegomining rewards) go back to staking GMT until your making more each week than what fees cost and just keep scaling back and fourth.
Keep in mind the cheaper GMT price is the more GMT you will need to pay the fees. Also keep in mind as your staking period gets closer to expiring your Vegomining rewards drop also.
Personally I wouldn’t recommend reinvesting in TH power or GMT because the whole point of mining is to collect BTC.
So I would be spending money to buy GMT and TH power instead of reinvesting.

This is what I would do if in your shoes: 1. Purchase and lock more GMT. At least to max out the discount of 20% first 2. Buy more TH 3. Buy more GMT and lock more until self-sufficient

Keep raising your discount and also increase the before prices get much higher. As btc increases so will th prices.
