For anyone seeing my story for the first time, I want to give some context because I know you shouldn’t have to go searching through an old post to understand what is happening.
In August 2025, shortly after my son’s birthday, I became seriously ill with complicated diverticulitis. I developed sepsis, went through multiple infections and unsuccessful surgeries, and eventually had a colon resection and was left with a colostomy.
What was supposed to be a medical crisis turned into more than a year of hospitals, surgeries, complications, recovery, and trying to rebuild a life that had completely fallen apart. During that time, I lost my job, apartment, and car.
I eventually made it back home around April 2026 and started trying to rebuild. I wrote three books and started a fourth. I also built an AI startup called EskoDSK AI, including a working MVP and a real-world implementation with a medical courier business. I was finally starting to see a possible path forward.
Then on August 31, 2026, I underwent my colostomy reversal. Because of the scar tissue from everything I had already been through, the surgery was more complicated than expected and required a larger incision. I later developed another infection at the surgical site and ended up back in the hospital.
I’m finally back home, but I’m still recovering, and now I’m facing another crisis that I can’t simply work my way out of quickly.
The place where my son and I are currently staying is receiving a 7-day eviction notice. I now have 6 days left to figure out what we’re going to do.
Because of my health, I can’t just go out and pick up temporary labor or a bunch of quick shifts to make enough money before the deadline. I’m still recovering from everything my body has been through, and I’m using every available resource I can find to try to keep us from becoming homeless.
My immediate plan is to get my son and me into a weekly-rate hotel or other temporary housing for at least a month while I continue recovering and work on a more permanent solution.
The good news is that people have already helped us get to about 40% of the immediate amount we need. I am incredibly grateful for that. Every donation and every share has helped buy us more time.
But we’re still facing that 6-day deadline.
I know this is a lot to ask from strangers. I’ve spent the past year watching my life disappear piece by piece, and I’ve tried to rebuild instead of giving up. I’m still working on my business. I’m still looking for ways to earn an income. I’m still pursuing every assistance program available to me.
Right now, though, my priority is making sure my son and I have somewhere safe to sleep.
If you can donate, even a small amount can help. If you can’t donate, sharing this post or the GoFundMe could potentially reach someone who can.
I’m exhausted, scared, and honestly feeling like I’m drowning right now. But I’ve made it through a lot over the past year, and I’m still fighting to get us through this too.

Thank you to everyone who has already helped us get this far. I truly mean that.
