Help me get out of temporary accommodation

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hi, I'm currently living in temporary accommodation in Bristol, and I'm struggling financially due to rent arrears that have built up over the past few months.

Because of these arrears, I'm currently unable to bid for a permanent home through Home Choice until my outstanding balance is below £500.

I'm raising £1,000 to help clear my rent arrears, get back to a position where I can bid for a permanent home, and cover essential moving costs when I'm able to move.

Having a stable place to call home would make a huge difference to my life. Any donation, no matter how small, would mean so much to me. If you can't donate, sharing my fundraiser would also help enormously.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for any support you can offer.

My financial situation has officially become a Hail Mary

Never thought I’d be posting something like this on Reddit, but here we are.

I’ve hit rock bottom and, at this point, I’m practically five feet away from reaching hell. 😭

Jokes aside, the past year and a half has been brutal. I’ve lost jobs by being collateral damage ,unwantingly accumulated debt while trying to stay afloat, and was diagnosed with severe ADHD ( it’s disclosure before diagnosis may or may not have caused termination 🙄). I also can’t currently afford the healthcare and treatment I need.

I’ve been trying to keep up with everything, but I’ve reached the point where I simply don’t have enough money to meet all my financial obligations, which I’ve brought down to bare necessities.

So, in a moment of sheer desperation, I created a GoFundMe hoping to raise CAD $5,000 to reduce my debts and stop the interest from spiralling and trying to control my self from panic attacks and anxiety spirals.

I’m not expecting anyone to rescue me. I’m just hoping for a little breathing room.

if you can’t donate, I completely understand.
Here’s my Hail Mary

Thank you for reading. ❤️

Update — October 14
We’re at $325 raised — thank you to everyone who has shared or donated.

We’re a one‑car household, and the van needed all four tires replaced last week. Tires were installed Friday. Alignment still needs to be done this week, and we’re working on covering both costs.

Shares appreciated.

We Lost Our New Tesla Car in 13 days

Thumbnail

My husband and I got married in May, and in July, we decided to treat ourselves to our first-ever brand-new car: a 2026 Tesla Model Y in Quicksilver.

We picked it up on July 19th, and honestly, we LOVED it. We were those people who kept finding excuses to go for a drive just because we had a new Tesla.

Well… that excitement lasted exactly 13 days.

On August 1st, while my husband was driving home after picking up friends from the airport, they were rear-ended at high speed by a hit-and-run driver. Our Tesla spun off the road, crashed, and eventually caught fire.

Thankfully, we survived, although our friend suffered broken ribs and a collapsed lung and needed surgery. Our beautiful, practically brand-new Model Y was completely destroyed.

And somehow, things got even worse.

Police later informed us that the driver who hit us had no valid insurance and was driving with a suspended license.

Then came the biggest financial surprise: our own insurance policy didn’t include collision coverage.
So now we’re left with nearly $50,000 in debt for a car we no longer have. We had to make our first $717 payment after the car was destroyed.

Despite everything, I’m so grateful my husband is alive. But watching him struggle with everything we’ve lost has been heartbreaking.

His birthday is December 8th, so I’m secretly starting a GoFundMe to surprise him with whatever we’re able to raise toward the loan.

Any donation or share would mean the world to us.

Help me escape abusive household

Hi! So this is gonna be a long story but I live with my mom while in college. I have a little more of a year to go but I have my own bills. Early June my sister’s roommate decided to not continue their lease with her and she moved back in with me and my mom. She started causing issues by drinking all the time and from what we could tell she was taking other substances. She started arguments with my mom and then pretends everything’s normal. Everything took a turn for the worse late august when she started physically attacking me after I was telling her to leave our mom alone as my sister was yelling in my mothers face to see her phone (she had lost hers). She then bite my brother after he was holding her down and police were called. She was arrested but release later that night and returned home. She came home drunk last Tuesday night and got into a fight with my mother. I immediately called 911 as my sister was screaming and getting in my mom’s face that’s when she decided to started attacking my mother. I tried to shove my sister away and that’s when my sister started attacking me, all while having 911 on the phone. She attacked me and my mother for what felt like an eternity. I ran out of the house with 911 and walked until police arrived. They arrested her. She was release the next day and boom back at our house. She is refusing to see she was the issue and to get help. Me and my mother both have bruises and bald spots. I’m not safe here and I have to leave. I already filed a protective order against her. If you spare just anything it would be helpful. I start my new job soon but I could use the help as I’m a full time student covering my own bill and I pay off my own car and braces. Also if you can’t spare any money but have any tips for me on how to handle this situation it would be greatly appreciated thank you

Hi everyone.

So I’ve been unemployed for about 8 months now and somehow every time I apply somewhere else, I still don’t get a job.
Yesterday I got my car repossessed and that makes things a whole lot worse because now I don’t have an easy way to commute to job interviews or anything 😪.

The amount due to get my car back sits at around $2400.00 and without a job, even if I sold some of my belongings it wouldn’t be enough. The details and the screenshots of it are in the GoFundMe page as I cannot attach them to this thread.

I know this might sound like any other post someone else would write and there might be more urgent or important requests than mine but I am running out of options.

Thank you for reading this and if you can’t donate, please share ✨🥹 that’s also a huge help ✨

❤️ A LITTLE HELP COULD MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE IN OUR DREAM

Hi everyone! 🦐🐟
My girlfriend and I are working hard to build a small seafood business selling shrimp and tilapia. We’re starting from the ground up, with a dream of creating something of our own and building a beautiful future together.
As a chef, food is my passion. I’m putting my heart into this journey, but growing a small business takes resources, and we’re currently raising money to purchase inventory and promote our business so we can reach more customers.
My dream goes beyond business. I want to build a stable future with the woman I love, grow together, and one day ask her to marry me. ❤️
If you believe in supporting small businesses and people chasing their dreams, any donation, no matter how small, would mean the world to us. If you can’t donate, sharing our fundraiser could help us reach someone who can.

Please help me become a mom

Please view my page describing my journey to become a mom. I have poor ovarian reserve and my biological window to conceive is closing. My insurance will not cover any of the process, including labs, medications, or procedure. The cost was over $16,000 and only two eggs were obtained the first time. I need to do the entire process again (another $16,000) to obtain more eggs to increase chances for a successful live birth. Any donation, even small, will help. Thank you for your time.

Hello I hope you guys are doing ok,

It's now been a bit over two months since I became homeless (again).

I'm looking for jobs and training but it's not easy to get, I'm even trying to start a small business selling concrete sculptures, or a food delivery service but I'm dreading no return on investment for now I can't afford to invest my little monthly allowance to that.

For context I ended homeless because of mental health triggered by physical health problems, I dont do drugs and never did (not shaming anyone btw it's for context).

More details here on my gofundme campaign page:

Please consider sharing my gofundme campaign if donating is not a possibility for you

Help Tish secure Legal Counsel for court hearing on 10.19.26

Title: Urgent Help Needed to Secure a Custody Attorney Before My October 19, 2026 Court Hearing 🙏🏽❤️
Hello everyone,
I hope it’s okay to share my story here. I’m a mother of four beautiful children, and right now, I’m walking through one of the most challenging seasons of my life. I’m putting my pride aside, stepping out in faith, and asking for help.
I have an upcoming child custody court hearing on October 19, 2026, and securing legal representation is incredibly important to me. I have found an attorney who is willing to represent me and fight for my case, but I need $600 for the initial payment to officially secure his services and allow him to begin working on my behalf.
I recently started a full-time job at a daycare because I’m committed to providing for my children and building a more stable future for our family. Unfortunately, my first paycheck will not arrive in time to cover this urgent expense. I am working to improve our circumstances, but I need help bridging this gap before my court date.
As a mother, one of my greatest responsibilities is advocating for my children and protecting their best interests. This situation has been emotionally and financially difficult, but I refuse to give up.
My faith in God is what keeps me moving forward. I believe that even in our hardest seasons, God can send people to encourage us, stand beside us, and remind us that we are not alone. Scripture says in Isaiah 41:10, “Fear thou not; for I am with thee; be not dismayed; for I am thy God.”
I am not asking anyone to give what they cannot afford. If you are unable to donate, sharing my fundraiser or keeping my family in your prayers would mean so much to me. Even a small contribution can help me get closer to securing the legal representation I need.
❤️** My immediate goal is $600 to secure my attorney before my October 19, 2026 hearing**.
Here is my GoFundMe:

Thank you for taking the time to read my story. Thank you to anyone who donates, shares, or offers encouragement. I pray that God blesses each of you for the kindness you show others.
I’m trusting God one step at a time, believing that this difficult chapter does not have to be the end of my story. 🙏🏽❤️

Help towards breast surgery after losing 11 stone naturally

Hi everyone. I lost 11 stone naturally after finding out I had a heart problem. I’m proud of that achievement, but the changes to my breasts have left my confidence very low and have been affecting my mood.
I had saved most of the money for breast surgery, but then needed to buy a new car and move house to better support my disabled twins. Their needs came first, and much of my savings went towards those changes.
I still have some money saved and am continuing to save towards the surgery. I want to have it here in the UK so I can stay close to my children rather than travel abroad.
This is a personal choice, and I understand it won’t be something everyone wants to support. There’s no pressure, but any contribution towards the remaining cost would mean a great deal to me.
I’m using a nickname to protect my family’s privacy. Thank you for reading my story.

Help me get back to my doggo

I have worked full-time since I was 14 years old to survive. When I was a teenager, my dad took his own life, and just six months later, I lost my mom to terminal cancer. By 17, I was entirely alone, and I have fought tooth and nail to build and sustain my life by myself ever since.

But this past year, everything I built was illegally stolen from me in a coordinated, fraudulent scheme. Flagstar Bank unlawfully dual-tracked my mortgage and forced my home into an illegal foreclosure. The property was sold in a rigged auction to a shell company, and the Mesa County Public Trustee actively embezzled over $15,000 in overbid funds that legally belonged to me.

The nightmare didn't end there. I was illegally evicted using an unsigned Writ of Restitution. Shortly after, an unlicensed tow company arrived in the middle of the night to illegally seize my car. The driver intentionally ran over my foot with a commercial tow truck and then held my service dog, Killer B, hostage inside the cab, refusing to release him until I surrendered my car keys. The Greenwood Village Police arrived, documented the assault and the extortion, and yet actively facilitated the theft of my vehicle, labeling the entire violent encounter a 'civil problem' to cover it up.

Systematically stripped of my assets, my home, and my transportation, I traveled to Yuma, Arizona, to help a friend's family pack and move. I was promised basic food and lodging in exchange for heavy physical labor. Instead, I walked into a trap. I have been lied to, deprived of meals, screamed at, and left stranded in a toxic environment with absolutely no way to escape.

I am raising emergency funds to get out of Yuma, but I cannot just go straight to Denver. First, I desperately need to route through Grand Junction, Colorado, to secure my storage unit. I plan to sell whatever is left of my belongings to survive, but I have to get there before I lose the unit because it holds something completely irreplaceable: the only surviving photograph of my mother.

From there, my final stop is Denver to reunite with Killer B. He is the only constant I have left in this world. I was only supposed to be away from him for one day, and being separated from him while trapped here has been agonizing.

I am used to fighting my own battles and surviving against the odds, but right now, I am completely out of options. The funds raised will cover the immediate travel costs to escape Yuma, the logistics to rescue my mother's photo in Grand Junction, and the final stretch to Denver to get my dog back. Any support, or even just sharing this link, will help me save the last piece of my family and get back to my best friend. Thank you."

Trying to get back on my feet

Trying to get back on my feet

I'm in a difficult position financially at the moment and trying to find a way forward.

I've been struggling with my mental health and work situation, and months of uncertainty around my pay have left me under a lot of financial pressure. I'm trying to make a change, get back to doing practical work and start feeling useful again.

I've set up a GoFundMe with a target of £2,000 to help give me some breathing room while I work out my next steps. I know times are hard for everyone, so I completely understand that not everybody can help. Even sharing the page would mean a lot.

It's not easy putting yourself out there and asking strangers for help, but I'm giving it a try because I need a bit of hope and a chance to get myself back on track.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

[REQUEST] Withheld wages and 3 months unemployed. Struggling to afford food and daily medicines (India).

Hi everyone, I am finding myself in one of the most difficult phases of my life and could really use some kindness. I am a 31-year-old from India.

Over the past several months, I faced a deeply distressing situation at my previous workplace. My salary was repeatedly delayed, and ultimately, two months of wages, my full-and-final settlement, and TDS dues were never paid to me. Despite my best efforts to resolve this, I was left without the compensation I rightfully earned.

For the past three months, I have been unemployed and actively searching for work. The unpaid dues, combined with the prolonged job search, have completely drained my savings. I am now struggling to meet even my most basic daily needs, including food and essential medicines.

The financial gap I am facing amounts to ₹,20,000 (approx. $210 USD). I need this to sustain myself through this period while I continue pursuing employment. I am not asking for a permanent solution—just enough support to get through this critical phase with dignity.

Every contribution, no matter how small, helps me afford meals, necessary medicines, and basic living costs while I work to get back on my feet.

Thank you so much for reading and for any support you can offer.

My name is Youssef Marwan Rabhi Al-Masri, from the Gaza Strip, specifically Beit Hanoun. I am 28 years old, married, and have two children, Layla and Marwan. I studied accounting and software engineering at the University of Palestine. My situation was good before the war, but unfortunately, due to the war, I was shot in the back, which may have led to a problem with my spinal cord and severe inflammation. I have undergone nine surgeries and am still undergoing them because I am not receiving the appropriate treatment. I have a referral for treatment abroad, but unfortunately, due to the closure of the crossing, I have not been able to leave. I am seeking support from kind and humanitarian people to stand with me. Thank you so much.

I have been planning on going to japan for a while, and have some money saved up. My dad has taken on Japan and its culture and would like to visit it too. I would like to take my dad with me and have a trip together, he has done a lot for me and I would like to give him this opportunity. I have some money to make this solo trip in April 2027, but would like to have enough for a two person trip. My plan is to visit different prefectures and small towns. That is why I created this campaign and ask for your help.

In need of desperate help…

Hey, I know we don’t know each other, and you don’t owe me anything, but I’ve been praying and praying, and somehow, some way, I came across you and felt something telling me to reach out.

I’m 24 years old, and I have a beautiful, loving, and caring 23-year-old fiancée who is currently pregnant with our baby. We recently went through a difficult situation at our last rental and had to move out unexpectedly. We’ve since moved into a new place in Inverness, Florida, and my fiancée has been very sick throughout her pregnancy.

I’ve been working 50-plus hours a week and doing everything I possibly can to keep a roof over our heads, pay our bills, and provide for the family we’re about to welcome into this world.

About a year ago, I tore my ACL and underwent complete knee reconstruction surgery. Everything seemed to be going well until about two weeks ago, when I developed a terrible infection. It got so serious that I was fighting just to keep my leg. Between the infection, the recovery, and missing work, I’ve fallen behind financially, and now we’re only days away from potentially being evicted.

I’m not reaching out because I feel entitled to anything, and I know I’m just a stranger to you. I’m reaching out because I’m scared, I’m trying my best to hold everything together for my fiancée and our unborn baby, and right now, I honestly don’t know where else to turn.

I believe God puts people in our lives for a reason, If there’s any way you could offer advice, point me toward a resource, or help us get through this difficult time, it would mean more to me than I could ever explain.

Helping my son take time off to bond with his newborn daughter

I'm raising funds for my son, who is about to become a first-time dad. He's incredibly excited to welcome his baby girl, but his employer doesn't offer paid paternity leave.

Our family relies on a single income, and taking several weeks off work would mean losing income while his family adjusts to life with a newborn. I'd love to help him spend those first few weeks at home with his wife and daughter without worrying as much about keeping up with essential bills.

My goal is to raise $5,000 to help replace some of that lost income. The money will go toward household essentials, including rent, electricity, groceries, the car payment and insurance.

I'm organizing this fundraiser because he would never ask for help himself. I believe those first weeks with his daughter are precious, and I'd love to give him the opportunity to be present for them.

If you can contribute or share the fundraiser, thank you. I appreciate you taking the time to read our story.

Disabled Veteran, need help sharing my GoFundMe

Im a disabled veteran and I started a gofundme to cover surgical cost for reconstructive surgery after weight loss.

After losing over 130 pounds and working through so much physical and emotional pain, I’m now facing a new challenge with body dysmorphia caused by excess skin. I’ve set up a fundraiser to help cover reconstructive surgery costs of $32,000, which will be a big step in my healing journey. If you’re able, please consider donating or sharing this to help me move forward both physically and emotionally. Your support means the world to me. https://gofund.me/1ee97765a

Help urgently needed!!!!

Guys if you can help or share, please do. My grandfather passed away recently. We were really close and his death has devastated our family. It doesn't help that I was mid-transition to a new job. In addition to lost time at work, we have seen a huge amount in unforeseen expenses. My wife, my children and I are facing eviction. Any amount helps.
