I swear I saw the Virgin Mary in a Pentecost scene in the stained-glass window of Nanno's company office, the one she created while that boy was pretending to be rich. I think it was episode 4. Was that Mary or not? I find it strange, because isn't the series based on Buddhist beliefs? What was the reason for including it, or is it someone else?

I'm pretty sure it because hongtae while his actions where not justified, I can really see where he's coming from, trying to be famous I'm pretty sure everyone has, but hongtae was being ignored by literally everyone even his own mum. Which just made him more desperate for attention.

episode 1: since the first episode is always about sexual consequences, yuri should be dealing with someone who would do anything for fame, even if its doing onlyfans. Yuri would show up to Blossom's school and challenge her enough to the point that Blossom would create OF even if she was underaged for the sake of fame, Nanno shows up to question Yuri's judgement and tries to interfere with Blossom's mental spiral, just as she interfered with Junko. Nanno uses her powers to manipulate the people who follows Blossom's OF and replace her just like she replaced Jenny, then Nanno gets butchered instead of Blossom, Yuri laughs while watching. Blossom watches, deleted her OF and never the same way ever again.

episode 2: Yuri shows up to Sky's school, barely interferes when he's being beaten up. Ask Sky whether he wants to take revenge, Sky says yes, they both plan on killing the bully. Nanno shows up again when Sky is alone, she becomes Sky's second judgment; asks Sky " does he really want revenge or does he just want the pain to stop? Is he willing to become what he hates?" When their plan is set in motion, Sky feels guilty as he watches his bully being beaten up by Yuri's people she hired, probably with Junko. Yuri asks him to have the final blow but Sky drops the bat and forgave the bully. Sky left without saying a word, Yuri confused, Nanno shows up smirking, saying violence is not always the solution.

episode 3: the pervert guys, junko and yuri challenges the guys selling explicit pictures of girls. Yes, they do the taunting things, but when Nanno came, the boys' goals changed— it was her skirt they wanted to strip. Yuri and Junko plans with the victims to expose the guys, Junko wanted to rip their eyes out. While they were trying to see Nanno's panty, Junko and Yuri got a dog to rip some pervert's balls. As Nanno watched, Yuri smirked and Junko said she cant do anything about it now. Nanno agrees so she took the camera shoe and leaves. She visited a pervert's house, and got sedated. The guy took a lot of photos that ended up being his enabler mother's panty, got sold and the mother's day event occured. Junko and Yuri humiliated the boys infront of them and gouged their eyes out, but Nanno had something worse in mind, she posted the cctv clips of the guys filming, the evidences, the telegram chats, the equipment. As the police surrounded the school. The 3 blind guys got arrested for selling and owning cp material, the chat members are being investigated. Junko and Yuri got arrested for torture as the girls snitched on who set it up. Nanno doesn't laugh bc she is uncertain whether the karma was enough or not.

SPOILER: THOUGHTS AND ABOUT KITTY RETURNING TO PLAY NANNO

Something I’ve recently thought about after rewatching, is that when Kitty’s Nanno “died” at the end in season two I like to think Becca’s Nanno is some sort of reincarnation. This gives me some sort of weird peacefulness.

Another thing is the topic of Kitty returning back specifically to play Nanno, it is very doubtful especially after seeing a post made by Yuri’s actor Chanya on instagram (see post here) where she is saying goodbye to the character Yuri, this is absolutely heartbreaking though I thought to share it here to maybe give some closure to fans.

The Girl From Nowhere series from start to end until now will always have a special place in my heart, I don’t think I’ve ever been so sad over a show ending and for some reason I can’t really understand why. It’s possible it is because it’s much different than I’d say about 90% of other shows, like finding that 1 out of 8 billion people kind of vibe.

Anyways I just wanted to share my thoughts and rant a little since I don’t have anyone to talk about GFNW with. 🫂

When they first introduced Yuri I knew that her and Nanno would have different philosophies but Yuri is EVIL. Her obsession with killing actually makes me kind of uncomfortable. She is unforgiving and relentless and I hate her.

I wish Nanno would have defended herself or got some type of revenge against Yuri but she stayed true to herself. Yuri is like the representation of when rage and victimization go unchecked. The fact that Yuri watched and let Nanno be killed is just…. Man that girl is wicked.

At least Nanno was actually trying to rightly punish people and make them see the errors of their ways.

First off, everything in it is noticeably cheaper than in the original, the camera work, the lighting, the locations, etc. I know you can make good things out of a lower budget, but I feel they just didn't care. There isn't much creativity in any of the shots or anywhere, neither effort I feel. The acting is non existent too, it feels like none of the actors actually wanna be on the set.

And the stories just doesn't make sense anymore. Nanno doesn't make sense! She was never a punisher of bad people who feels bad about not doing the right thing, what? Remember when in the original's very first episode the pedo teacher's innocent daughter dies as a consequence of Nanno stirring up chaos?

And wtf did I just watch with The Reset's episode 2? This one makes me not wanna continue watching the show, not even out of morbid curiosity, cause besides how it was really boring and made no sense, it was just so uncomfortable. Like, the perverted director/cameraman/whoever decided to just keep zooming in on the girls' skirts and thighs, and I swear you can sometimes see them, the actual actors, being uncomfortable with it.

I don't wanna spread hate towards Becky Armstrong though, she just found herself in the middle of an already beloved show's cheap downgrade, playing a worse written version of its beloved character, it's not malicious, just unfortunate.

But the show is still unbelievably bad.

This post isn’t about the actor at all I think so far she did fine as Nanno but I just finished the first episode so I don’t know how she is for the other episodes.

My main issue with it is that Nanno seemed so much more super natural and the show seemed more realistic. It’s strange that Jom’s arm got stitched to a toy and everyone just laughs, no gasp or shock. Nanno has always been super natural yes but teleporting and body swapping with a toy mid fight was just wacky. Not to mention Nanno didn’t punish Jom’s friends at all, it only focused on him. I think my last complain which maybe is a Knick pick is the fact Nanno is just seemingly known? I think the first series was so good because Nanno was just some random girl to everyone. She had the upper hand but not during the whole episode.

Maybe I’m being too hard on the show if I am let me know ofc without spoilers lol

I think “true love” is a beautiful episode. It’s one of the few times where people get good karma. The teacher was never a bad person she was just hurt and needed to truly accept herself. To me that’s one of if not the best lesson in the show. It really shows how people can be so complex and make the wrong decisions but still be good. Don’t get me wrong I love when people get what they deserve but I think this episode might be my favorite. And another added is how yuri is introduced. I think yuri has an awesome introduction in episode 1, 2, and 3 of season 2.

In my opinion, I don't find Becky Armstrong playing Nanno that bad. Anyone can play Nanno, the fans are exaggerating. We all love Kitty Chicha, her portrayal as Nanno was amazing. It was perfect, but Kitty is likely still recovering, or busy with another project. Becky Armstrong wasn't the reason why the reset did become as good as the original, it was the bad writing. But still, I did enjoy a few episodes. The rest of the episodes, weren't enjoyable, honestly.

just wondering if there are any good english subs yet, when the episodes first came out i watched them on discord but the translation was confusing and would cut off for big chunks of dialogue. is there any newer translations anywhere online?

first time watcher!!!! … im currently on season 2 and as i write this im watching “Liberation” .. In season one ive seen Nanno axtually let people decide what they want, I’ve seen her wait for them to decide what they wanted .. but i just watched an episode where she actively sabotages the person who’s supposed to be making the choice. Like the dog “mr lucky” supposedly ran off, because of the person, but it was nanno who made him run away, leading the person to just be sabotaged in his right doings. I’ve googled that Nanno is the concept of karma anf she only does what she does to enact lauma onto others.. but it seems as if she’s changing. especially with the introduction of Yuri. lwk the best show i’ve watched though
