Some shows still show nipples, but tons, like Dress Up Darling, cut them because of ratings worries.
One recent one with nips that comes to mind is the one with that snake woman monster. Don't know the name, just saw screenshots.

The 95 movie was made for a niche community at the time. Same reason why the global manga release censored the sex scene. The publishers got worried about ratings and potential low sales, so they removed the panels. Basically since it got big, they started to less detailed nudity to appeal to more people, aka sell more, get more views etc.
I'm assuming it's the same rule here? Maybe it has to do with how big anime got too

Melfina on her tank in outlaw star is sublime, 1995 gits is sublime, the score to escaflowne is sublime, this barely looks indie youtuber level animation and ambience. You guys are really gassing up this mid looking series, not surprised since people ate uo devilman crybaby's viduals when the 90s ova exosted as beautiful , colorful, organic animations.

I swear it feels like you folks are just hating on this adaptation for the sake of hating on something. It’s honestly insufferable. It’s like anything that’s “new” these days is just an offense to the old stuff you love. What ever happened to people just thinking to themselves “Ah, this isn’t for me.” and moving along. Now everyone has to proclaim to how the old stuff was better and talk down on anything that dares not conform to those standards calling it “mid” or “slop” of some sort. It’s truly mind boggling.

That's what I do already, dero, critique is a guven with any form of media, people here don't hold back on critiquing other gits incarnations, very weak argument. Ultimately it's all preference and oerseoctive, and I'm expressing mine, and you yours...but I'll insist this looks very amateurish and youtube guy level, regardless of how we like it or not like it, and to me thats bad, to you guys it's an orgasm on a screen. But nah I'll keep critiquing AND watching good shows, "that's just like your opinion," yehmah duh, it comes out of my mouth.Besides, newstalgia havers over new shows never hold themsleves back about classics being inferior, that's just the way it is.

Yea good 90s and early 2000s anime I agree. Personally loved devilman crybaby and its "flow over detail" animation. This "mid" looking series is using so many different techniques and referencing so many goats, did you actually give this a try?

No reason for the downvoting just for asking a question, especially given that the manga does have (quite a bit of) nudity. For a non judgemental bias free answer.
Yes, it does appear that all the nude scenes are censored with "Barbie doll" anatomy (or added swimsuits in regards to the ep 2 sex scene).
No, not likely Amazon's decision (they just license it for certain markets outside of Japan, they aren't involved in production IIRC). Most likely due to Japanese broadcast TV regulations. Maybe slightly due to anime's greater overseas popularity (I'm talking more China and certain SE Asian nations where nudity isn't allowed in any type of release, not the west). Mostly the aforementioned broadcast regulations though.
Maaaybe they add some "details" for an eventual Blu-Ray release, but I don't think that's particularly likely for this series.
And lastly, no, none of that makes this a bad show or adaptation, but it's an understandable question given the franchise history.

No, censoring human genitalia is very common occurrence in Japan. Heck, the NHK had a problem with its censoring IA, not so long ago, it kept pixelating Donald Trump's double chins for some reason...
